Wow now that’s amazing I’m 56 this year and I’ve always loved Chubby, I’m from Mt. Vernon NY same place as Dick Clark whose wife gave Cubby his last name. !
its because music today, you can,t really dance to it cos its crap, i recently got pair a sunglasses & when i put them on in the optitions & looked in the mirror, i said to the young girl, that i looked like roy orbison, she said WHO, i couldn,t belive that she hadn,t heard of him, so i said what about, chubby checker, jerry lee lewis, little richard, connie francis, etc etc, she had only heard of elvis, but hadn,t really listend to his music, i said if your used to listening to the crap music of today, then your in for a big surprise, when you hear people that could sing.
@@michaelgoulding6609 listen Ray Charles said before he passed. Asked what he thought of the new: ;music:. He responded I don't know what it is but it ain't music!!!! He didn't qualify this stuff as music. There are still real musicians out there. But making music like the 60s,70s forget it. 50s as well. I don't like being old. But I will stand by my boomers and say we had some of the greatest ever recorded. Just look at a Grammy awards show from the 70s and see one now. What a disappointment!!! Friggin horrible. I remember when really talent ruled the music. Not auto tune. Ive seen many great band's live in My life. Kids will never know the enjoyment of saving money going to a record store and bring it home and wear it out. Albums are coming back strong. But everything we went through to get a good record. I still have all my first albums and 45s from the 60s on up. Love them 👍☮️🎹🎶🎸
He’s like 79 years old and he sounds like he’s 30 !!!! I’m stupefied !! He deserves every ounce of the accolades that he’s gotten from this song he made famous 60 years ago !
***** Chubby Checker is priceless and still # 1 to this day......yet !! He has one wonderful voice for his older age, and his voice never changed at all since he was younger. He still has one power house voice yet.
The original recording by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters is from 1958, so that would make it 63 years. Although Checker's recording is from 1960, making his version 61 years old,
I wonder how many times he's sung those songs. This wasn't as bad as I feared it might be-- his voice i still strong and if he doesn't move like he did when he was 20, well, neither do I. I saw him perform some time in the late 80's, 25 years or so after his heyday, and I thought he put on a terrific show. I guess he can still please an audience. More power to him.
Que maravilha saber que este maravilhoso artista dono dessa música ainda vive e que até hoje faz sucesso onde quer que ela toque não só a música como também o Twister 💃🕺🇧🇷
Well, maybe he can't Twist any more, but he still can sing! Happy belated 80th birthday. You were my all-time idol when I was barely old enough to sing... and that hasn't changed, either!
I bought both of those singles the day they came out when I had only "allowance" to spend. The first dance I ever learned was the Twist and I Twisted the night away with my girlfriend to that irresistible beat!
This a really beautiful song, so magically woven together. It's nice to meet you. If you don't mind I would love us to be friends. I understand that we don't know each other before now but one thing I believe is that it takes only a minute to accept friendship and that's why I have asked to accept my request of friendship. It would be an honor, l'm looking forward to a good friendship between us. May I ask where you are from?
...SONG OF THE DAY!!! 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿14/02/2021
