Any level of social conscious I have started listening to him and PE. I knew he was righteous and Militant, and the more he named dropped (Farrakhan, Denmark Vesey, Gabriel Prosser, Chesimard), the more I researched and started to learn and understand things I normally wouldn't have been exposed to at the time. I'd like to add that on an interview with the victim she did state that she didn't feel like the 5 should have been paid through the city because she doesn't feel like they were just innocent kids either and that she felt like the people involved judicially did what they should have and I don't agree with that. She should have plain out said regardless they needed to pay whether they did it or not that was basically what she said and it's sickening knowing what they went through and for everyone involved they will have their day...idiots!

Supporters of the "3 Strikes You're Out" law. Hillary named Senator Byrd of South Carolina, a known segregationist, racist and card carrying klansman. Joe supported segregation as a senator. Between the two of them they have at least 100 combined years of political and public service influence and this is their legacy. Tell me what was a better choice? Where's the song for them? Make room for the others who support them in the House, Senate all the way to the hood prophets, NBA, NFL gods behind gated community walls? Chuck D made hip hop intelligent. Today's artists have nothing on him. I could listen to any one of his tracks from 30 years ago and still notice a clever line embedded in the lyrics that I never picked up on before.

When you hear truth or knowledge even if you are texting and listening to this interview your brain stops the text and you focus on what is being said. What inside the malt liquor, what kind of car do you drink. What type of gas do you put into your car,top of the line gas. So you put better nutrients in your car then you do your body.
Chuck D is knowledge and wisdom. He is one of the people who helped me go from being a continuation school dropout to a college graduate with what PE and many other socially conscious rap groups taught me. They set me on the road to research and becoming knowledgable. Thankfully "woke" wouldn't become a term for another couple of decades, but becoming knowledgeable through hip-hop was what many of us had to do in the face of perpetually defunded education systems.

I've respected this man since forever (at least since 1998 when the He Got Game soundtrack came out and I was old enough to go back and listen to more PE. Never once been let down by this legend since, just always gaining respect which isn't to be taken for granted. Oh, and listen to that voice one more time or 8 more times and say he doesn't have one of the most powerful voices ever)
