This is how Chuck E. Cheese's was when I was a kid in the 80's - all freaky and scary like that! With the flags waving back and forth on the walls, and the chicken legs kicking from out the walls, and those eyes on the animatronics - how scary were those eyes! We loved it! Kids today don't know how cool it used to be! Thank you so much for sharing this!
I think a lot of people say the old animatronics look creepy because of FNAF, but to be honest I've always found them creepy. I used to go to Chuck E. Cheese's when I was a kid and I would avoid the stage area like the plague. I actually remember one time when my family forced me to go near the stage to show me there was nothing to be afraid of, which didn't help and made me cry. I think a huge part of why they were so terrifying to me as a kid was because of the uncanny valley. If you've never heard of it you can look it up, it's pretty interesting. Not everyone seems to be effected by the valley either, which may be why some people are perfectly okay with the animatronics and some are not. Now I'm not really afraid of the animatronics and I think they're kind of fascinating. It's rather interesting to see how different things used to be back then. So much has changed. I never knew Chuck E. Cheese had a cabaret room or that Cheese E. Street used to be a thing. I guess kids used to get lost or stuck in there? That time when not everything was 100% safe and kid friendly... sounds like an interesting time to be alive.
Yeah, the old CEC animatronics are honestly way creepier than the FNAF ones. Also, I’ve only been to CEC once as a kid (modern CEC), and it was before I knew about FNAF, but I was so scared I had to leave Edit: dang I just realized how old this comment is
I wish Madame Oink Harmony Howlette Foxy Collette Crusty The Cat and the other retired animatronics came back so I can see them and make a video of them
Fact: It was just before the bankruptcy and fusion between Showbiz Pizza and Pizza Time Theatre to be branded as Chuck E. Cheese's: Where A Kid can Be a Kid!
I grew up in the 90's,so I'm just as clueless as kids today. But man, those animatronics are, like y'all said, very whacked out! As for Chuck E.'s personality being cool,he was at his best in the early 90's.
There are no known videos, but I HAVE found some audio from different show tapes. There's 3 I found and they're all less than a minute long. She was a stereotypical Irish woman with a very thick and stereotypical Irish accent. But that's all I could really pick up, and the PTT restoration series does play a Foxy Colleen showtape in which Harmony fills in for her. She sings "Jeepers Creepers" with the warblettes.
I never said anything was holding me back, and while Big Cheese is certainly the most influential and popular CEC you tuber, he certainly doesn't tell people what to do.
i love da creepy animatronics. heck, i collect animatronics as a hobby. teddy ruxpin 1985, talking mothergoose 1986, furbies, 1998 to 2012, fur-real friends, harry potter animatronic pet dragon, wuv-luvs, the green machine: frog band, animatronic fish, both singing and swiming, poochies. if its an animatronic i can afford, i most-likely have it. and let me tell u, if it wasnt fur da scaryness of da 5 nights at freddy's fandom, i would have never got into collecting animatronics in da first place. its da scaryness of animatronics dat 5 nights at freddy's gave me, dat made me want 2 collect them.
