This is segment 1 of the April 2014 show at the 1-stage in New London, Connecticut. New London closed due to leasing issues on May 11th, 2014. Filmed on 5/10/2014.
As of yesterday it’s now been 10 years all ready since this New London CEC closed down permanently. The building demolished and is now some brand new furniture store
Also very sad to see this one go. It was kept clean, the place had a spacious feel, and the animatronics were kept in good order. No good options for Chuck E Cheese in that entire half of the state anymore.
Is it me or does Helen have two different arm movments? Her singing arm (the one with the microphone) moves up and down as usual, but her other arm seems to fold outwards. Did that arm have the older PTT arm movement (in and outward) instead of the newer MMBB movement (up and down)?
I got a few things like the CEC Showroom sign, and a friend got some other artwork, but cosmetics, parts, and patented trademark stuff is sent back to the Parts Department and Corporate Office to be either destroyed or redistributed to other stores. Sad :(
Lack of sales... just wasn't pulling in the volume it used to. I'd go there some Saturdays in the early 2010's and it would just be empty. It's too bad, cause the staff was awesome, the store was great, the show was nearly perfect too. And it held many childhood memories for me too. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. It was great while it lasted. :(
@@chuckecheeseshows It did seem like a very poor spot in New London, I know it was a New London Mall expansion in the 90s but it wasn't a good start since it was placed on the opposite side of I-95 where there was nothing over there at the time minus a hotel or two. Now it's a Bob's Discount Furniture.
They had problems with the lease meaning the building wasn't theirs anymore. For example, they rented the place (meaning they DON'T own the building). If the owner doesn't allow them to have the building, then they can't have it.
