The old chuck-e cheese may be terrifying at first look, but he was certainly more bad-ass than the new one. He's got the cigarette in his finger, the cool new Jersey ancient, and the neat personally.
Apparently his backstory at this point was that he was an orphan, and never had a birthday. Explaining why he’s so grumpy. And he decided to open Pizza Theater so other kids don’t feel his pain.
i was an avid fnaf fan, and recently i watched Dawko play this FNAF inspired Chuck E. Cheese game. the characters were surprisingly accurate to what they look like here, and even Chuck E.'s voice is really similar. i'm glad i got to see this
Yeah I’ve been a CEC fan LONG before FNaF, but I’m glad people are starting to enjoy CEC and caring about the animatronics more all because of the wonderful FNaF franchise, though I’m sad the majority of CEC fans despise anything related to FNaF at all, games, creator, youtubers, fans, and even if you call the robots creepy they’ll get mad.
@@thegreydragon954 yah definitely. i will say sometimes i find animatronics ever so slightly unsettling, regardless of FNaF. nonetheless, they are extremely cool in their ability to appear lifelike and the mechanics that go into them are awesome
In fact, my father took him to this restaurant on his 10th birthday, but he was very terrified .Years later when fnaf became fashionable my father started playing it and it brought back many memories
Because this was not a home movie, this was either promotional or media footage filmed with a much higher quality camera to begin with. Personal video cameras then were either not good or too expensive for the normal person to purchase one that was. Thats what makes getting footage from about 1985 and prior so difficult. The film had to be filmed with intent, so the content either doesnt exist at all or its very high quality. Not someone just panning a birthday party and we catch glimpses in the background.
So, I got here after playing Five Nights at Chuck E. Cheese's: Rebooted, because the extras menu had actual audio from some of the actual performances, and I got very curious.
Maybe its me, but not only did they appear more realistic, but their movements are just the same. The fluidness is astounding, you would think it would be the newer Cyberamics that would possess better mechanics but this blows them away. I guess I can understand the move towards a more cartoonish appearance, even though I prefer these by far, but why stray away from the complex movements to extremely basic ones? Also as a side note, how in the world is CEC not taking advantage of their history? They are a nostalgia powerhouse for parents with young children. I know I want to take my kid to experience what I enjoyed when younger, they need to test a CEC converted back into a more modern PTT. It may be the answer they have been looking for all along to revive the brand.
I never knew about Dolly until now, but HELL am i sad shes gone. She seems like a character i would've loved as a kid. From what i see here she has a storytelling aspect to her song choices and i am all here for it.
@@PTTEntertainment That's true. Maybe its the fact that she never progressed along with the Chuck E Cheese franchise that makes her so likeable. She just has that charm to her that all the old characters had. The new Chuck E is... Idk. The big robot one they used to have on the stage a few years ago pushed my sister off the stage and i havent been there since-
@@PTTEntertainment Thats what my mom always said- maybe she just didnt want us going to Chuck E Cheese- Now that i think about she would make an excuse like that
The place looks like it’s all painted black. Not going to lie but it looks like the place has been burnt down. I hope the place looked at least a little pleasing back in the late 70’s when all the lights were turned on and maybe the floor was at least colorful. Good old video tho
Spiral_UltimisYF Thanks for not being mean. I’m trying to make Pizza Time Theater in Minecraft. I’m gonna use trap doors to make the portraits. BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A SLIDE IN MINECRAFT
As someone who was born in the early 2000’s I wish that I would’ve been able to live a childhood like this. It would’ve been an experience for me to see the original cast perform in the pizza time theater. But I did get to hang out in the current Chuck E. Cheese’s at the time I was born so it wasn’t a HUGE loss. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing how the original era of Chuck E. Cheese was like.
man, I would pay so much to be able to witness this. Everything about it, I adore. The subtle creepiness, the way that feeling can melt away as you almost forget that these characters aren't really living. Not only am I too young to witness the boom of animatronics, I also live in a country where they just didn't happen (the country that this tv clip came from, in fact). The older they are, the more they interest me. It's such a shame that these characters aren't "alive" anymore. Retired, destroyed... I suppose their rarity nowadays makes them all the more intriguing.
Crusty's movements was so fluid and fun to watch! I'm honestly sad he was replaced with Mr. Munch. Hes such a cutie! I also like his interactions with Chuck E Cheese, they were really neat, the nickname "Big C" was a cute little touch too :)
At 1:10 I was cracking up because I immediately just imagined a boss battle health meter appearing as Pasqually opens the doors and starts yelling his song Also, the moment he sang "Pizza, pizza, pizza in the air..." My brain instead thought "Pizza, pasta, put it in a box" and I had a moment of confusion before realizing "Oh yeah, it's a kid's restaurant, he can't do that" lol
"We got another birthday coming up here!" "Whats the surprise for me? I didnt even get a present!" "Me neither big C!" " *THATS CAUSE ITS NOT YOUR BIRTHDAY NITWIT* "
“Chuck E Cheese will become more popular than Mickey Mouse in 10 years” Disney: *Are You Sure About That?* Part 2: Several Years Later.... “Chuck E Cheese Has Filled For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy” Disney: Told You, You Can’t Beat Mickey Mouse. Coronavirus: Agreed. CEC’s $1B Debt: You Got That Right Disney. Part 3: A While Later.... FNAF: Hey CEC, What’s The Problem? CEC: We Have Gone Bankrupt. FNAF: Don’t Worry I Will Help You. Disney: NANI?! FNAF: Be Prepared Disney, Soon CEC Will Beat Mickey Mouse! Part 4: Years Later.... CEC: Thanks For Your Help FNAF, Now Our Joint Company Is A Major Hit. FNAF: Your Welcome CEC. Cops: Stop Right There! CEC: What Happened Sir? Cops: Lots Of Children Were Reported To Have Gone Missing Here. CEC: What? Who Could Have Done It? FNAF: Uhh.... Part 5 If I Get 1K Likes.
I prefer this version of Chuck-e (character-wise) to the newer version. He has way more personality, and I like how his lines are somewhat oriented for older audiences. Also they should've kept Crusty the Cat. Being a caricature of a fresh, new member of the band compared to Chuck-e, the leader of said band, they could've had a cool dynamic.
Yeah, let's see chuck e cheese on the tv's around the modern chuck e cheeses say "Yeah I'm on a TV, what're you gonna do bout' it?" In that new jersey accent they abandoned.
Heres a fun fact about the chuck e cheese animatronic He is missing the pizza time theatre logo on his hat or the hat is flipped. Another fun fact crusty the cat was actually around with madame oink and the weird part is that when crusty was replaced with mr.munch the money song had mr.much replacing crusty singing meaning that technically it's called Mr.munch and madame oink. Yeah weird huh
After watching Lewis Dawkins (dawko) play five nights at Chuck E. Cheese’s, it’s interesting to know how radiance team took inspiration from this video and other stage plays to make the gameplay and charecters. Costume is literally a costume based off of what employees would wear to surprise kids at their birthdays. Hell, some scenes of this video are in the background of the custom night menu.
So happy I found this video. I love animatronics so I find it amazing that this footage exists. I wish I was around back then cause they're just replacing all the locations with dance floors. I went to mine 2 years ago and they still had a animatronic. I'm planning to go soon to check on itm
Oh hell yeahhhhhh I've been looking for a video of them actually moving in their frames for like... a while. Thank you for keeping this piece of history available!
John Oliver just showed footage of the 1977 show for this week's "Last Week Tonight" alternative episode "Last Squeak Tonight" website covering Chuck E. Cheese.
Is it possible to somehow save up enough money to build another 1977 style Pizza Time Theatre? I really want to do this when I grow up. It’ll be just like time travel.
I visited the Winchester Blvd store many time in 1977-1980. Then I took a job working for PTT at HQ building animatronics and equipment during the crazy growth from 3 stores to over 600 stores. Great people and memories.
Once upon a time, there was a little mouse named Chuck with a big dream. Make people who can't smile happy. that's why I prefer Chuck, he has a sad, emotional and heartbreaking story. something Mickey Mouse wouldn't understand. -It was the winter of 95- I remember it like it was yesterday, I remember that cute mouse congratulating me on my birthday. And even if you couldn't be better than Mickey Mouse Chuck, you did great bro. You are not one of all the rats in history, you are the best ... where a kid can be a kid (yot club-YKWIM starts)
I wish the cabaret animatronics lasted longer than they did, I love them and even though I wasn't born when they came out, I still like how unique they were from the others.
I don’t find these creepy, honestly it’s entertaining. If they kept it like this and not bring new creepy animatronics I think they would have done better
