A wonderful example of a fully functional, original version of Studio C (Alpha) with ALL animations and lights working. See Chuck E. perform this great tune up close and personal!
The Alpha version of Studio C features the impressive fully animated 36-movement version of the animatronic Chuck E. figure, produced by Garner Holt.
Multiple movements combined together create the lifelike performance, including great touches such as eyebrow movements, fully moveable arms, ear twitches, and even a toe tap.
The programming/animation for this particular song was done by Matt Daniel, then lead programmer/figure animator at CEC Entertainment.
This was filmed at the Methuen, MA Chuck E. Cheese*s Location. This Store opened in August of 2000, and was one of the last to receive the Alpha version of this Stage Show as a downsized version was being developed by the Company for future Locations.
It is a rare treat indeed to find a fully functioning version of this particular Show in the field today.

Wow! If studio C always looked like this, I would want to see them way more often. He looks like he is actually singing the song as opposed to half-heartedly lip syncing.

Yes ! The talented person who animated ; programmed this back in this era was excellent. He fully understood that this kind of work should be handled as a character performance, and not just 'jigglin' the Bots' around' or having them just move back and forth. Very different style when compared to today.

They sure did! Considering most studio c chucks at the time sparked up the main store/being impressive, I’m pretty sure most maintenance in stores are gone and the last time I saw a stage that had working curtains was around 2013 or 14, now and days the current curtains are not functional or they never use it for a reason, but idk.

Which CEC Location is near you? Only a small handful of Stores have had the animatronic shows removed and replaced with the dance floor. CEC Stores that have received the most recent remodel , the 'Pizzaria Concept 2.0' have no Show.

whoever did the studio c bot, did a wonderful job of making it look more like the costume. they should start making new stages with the whole band on stage and have the company make the new bots. like make new 3 stages with this bot. but dont remove old bots from the old stages, make brand new ones with the new bots. you know, spend some money.

Matt Daniel did the animation programming for this segment. At the time that this was filmed, he was the lead animation programmer at CEC Entertainment and did some excellent work. He 'puppeteered' all the movements together step by step to create a finished performance of the figure. Garner Holt built the animatronic Studio C version of Chuck E. Cheese, shown here. This is their original model, with 36 movements. In later years they made models with far less movements, resulting in a limited 16 movement version. Garner Holt is one of the premier makers of animatronic figures, and today handles most of Disney Theme Parks animatronic needs.

This has to be one of my favorite modern CEC show's within the past 10 years! I saw this show on a 1 Stage, 2 Stage, Studio C Beta, and Studio C Alpha. My local Alpha still had this outfit at the time but replaced it in April 2005. Great video btw!

I personally liked studio c better than where the shows have gone to today with all tv puppet segments. Even though studio c stages still exist, it doesn’t make sense if there’s a Chuck E puppet in the shows for that to still be used. At least studio c was still a way to keep the animatronics alive, and what they did with the other characters I didn’t find to be a total loss. It reminded me of how Ronald McDonald used video phones with other characters at the beginning of Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald episodes.

We still have Studio C's all over the U.S. do to the fact that Studio C was going to be the Standard at ALL Chuck E Cheese locations. It's the reason why it's featured at the *most* locations out of *any* CEC Stage In *Existence*! Studio C out numbers C.O.L. 350 to 75. To Put it in perspective: - 350 Studio Cs - 75 C.O.Ls - 54 2-Stages - 53 3-stage - 49 1-Stages - 15 Road stages - 5 Live Stages - 1 Rocker Stage - 1 Galaxy Stage So, to put it in perspective, there are more Studio C's then ALL C.O.L, 2-stage, 3-stage, 1-stage, Roadstage, Live Stage, Rocker Stage, and Galaxy Stage COMBINED!

AD Machine - I just don't understand why you're complaining then? They stopped producing C.O.L.s a year ago. Chuck E Live is the Standard now. CEC didn't much like C.O.L. either. That's why they were short lived.
