The thing Chuck was saying just wooshed over Kenny's head. He's talking about the Knicks having the foresight to pick a lesser-known guy. Everyone already knew Shaq and KD were good. Didn't take a lot of skill as a gm to know that yes I want those guys on my team.
Chuck is correct, it's a great signing. 4 years at 104M is a steal for a guy playing like a max player. As a Suns fan I distinctly remember the playoff series before he was a FA and thought he was good but might be getting overpaid by NY. I couldn't have been more wrong. The guy is putting up solid numbers and low turnovers, getting wins and leading a franchise that was struggling, and he also has the clutch gene.
He nearly dragged the Knicks over the Heat by hisself in the playoffs last year - obtuse is the perfect word to describe Kenny here for someone who is deliberately trying to misinterpret what the Chukster is saying
He was speaking in terms of value of what they got vs what they thought they were. I think Brunson signed for like $20 million a year but he’s playing like a player that could be on a max contract
@@Jaytatum_stepback0 Yeah, and like Brunson, for many years he got snubbed in the west. Quite a few years where he was better than CP3, or Klay, or Luka during his first or second year. In fact, it's big market teams like the Knicks typically have more sway for things like this.
@@tangerinedream106 in 2012-13 the knicks were the 2 seed, melo was an mvp candidate and took a vote away from what should have been unanimous for the bron, and lost in the second round in six games like the knicks last year, if thats nothing than brunson has done nothing for the knicks
Idk I thought he was gonna be what we’re seeing, it’s like people forget what he did In the playoffs with the mavs in his last season there, not to mention he was averaging a smooth 16 throughout that season
Dame had a lot of fans since he was good from the beginning & he has Giannis by his side but Brunson had a better year this year. Leading the Knicks for being a playoff contender.

I dont know how people didnt know how good Brunson was. He was one of the better players on that Mavericks team and didnt really even play that many minutes. As a Knicks fan I was very happy when they signed him because I always knew he was that good.
it's the fan votes that disappointed a lot of people. Playing well in the biggest market in all of basketball should be enough to get you in the all star game via fan votes.

Kenny appears to be unaware of what he's saying. It's a remarkable signing because they had the foresight to sign him, knowing he was a star before everyone else. That's an excellent acquisition. Bringing in Durant or Shaq required no skill; everyone already knew about them.
I'm fine with SGA and Luka starting over Steph. If Steph plays in the asg the same way he played in the 2022 asg the coach will play him more than those two anyway. But Dame over Brunson is crazy. Dame is a major reason (not the only reason) why Bucks defense is as bad as it is and his shooting splits for the season are just okay so far, whereas Brunson is playing better with less consistent help than Dame.

Chuck, you don't have to apologize to Fraudulent Dame. Dame has been one of the worst shooters in the NBA. Just yesterday, Dame shot 7/28 =38% and 2-9 from 3 =22%. And its not like he had a game or anything. We have seen this over and over and over and over!!
