@@tyreegomez6060 Just gotta move past the fact that the viral clips are usually of someones bad moments and takes but ignore the thousands of positive moments and opinions that people say. Chuck is very rarely spewing nonsense, and when he does he usually admits to having no idea what he's talking about he's just trying to give an opinion on what he knows. Not hating on your comment lmao just like to remind people of the good
He’s not a shooter he’s the worst 3pt shooter ever, Lmao stop riding chucks meat, he just say what everyone is saying right now about Ja. Dont act like he’s the only that say that.
@@ND-OPS lmao damn bruh you commenting on everyone or what 😂 what’s your issue with Charles I’m just curious. In my opinion people give him too much credit for speaking his mind and having no filter but in reality there are things that even he won’t say bc he is not allowed to, thus actually having a filter like everyone else on tv
Eh idk, I know a lot of people that carry firearms to protect themselves from violent criminals. Big difference when you see a law abiding citizen holding a gun, and a basketball player flashing his piece in a club… like Barkley said, black on black crime
@anjerkanjer you're really going to blame citizens expecting repercussions for police brutality and gang-oriented activities as the reason why? Please, statistics show we are safer as a country than any other time in history. We are constantly trending upward for life expectancy and crime rates are going down. Don't spew rhetoric like that. The police decided if wrongful arrests can get a cop arrested, then they just won't do their job....accountability is too much for cops. Edit: For Baltimore, murder has gone up since the death of Freddie Gray. But that also is related to the extremely hostile relationship between the black community and the BPD.
Ang chuck understands it well because he too was immature back in the day. There are several episodes on the show that he said that he regrets doing some things back in the day.
Nothing beats the Inside The NBA crew, they are serious when the situation needs to be, not being over the top or sensational like all other sports programmes. Chuck keeping it real, talking sense and not overdramatising his words.
@@TheBushRanger. ESPN has pretty good NBA coverage but yeah compared to TNT it is awful lol. ESPN's coverage on anything else that isn't NFL, NBA, or college football/hoops is pretty fucking horrific
Chuck thank you so much. Gun violence is so huge and it’s such a problem in Memphis and even affected counties surrounding Shelby County. What Ja did was so insensitive to the time and the blood sweat and tears mothers have shed over the fight against gun violence.
Facts, he thinks he s goon, but hes a multimillionaire athlete who isnt living in shambles, time to wake up and stop thinking being a gangster/hood or whatever is cool. BEING AN ATHLETE IS COOL
No offense. AI's influence on the culture is not something that should not have been celebrated. David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Kobe (most of him), Paul George, KAT, Donavon Mitchell, Richard Jefferson, Lebron, Kenny, and even Chuck and Shaq... those well-mannered people's influence on culture should be celebrated, not AI.
@@bohanxu6125 I’m from Newport News and I couldn’t agree more. Small city with a lot of violence that he brought light to but brought fame to the city for being rough like it was a trophy
This lesson? What about the previous ones? Ja is a phenomenal talent, but I don't see him doing a180 and ditching the parasite enablers who can't call him out to stop this crap. Who the hell provided a gun to an NBA player? Hire a bodyguard and let them handle that crap
@@greenkidd529 bro what are you talking about regular people don’t get in trouble for flashing a gun on ig live a matter of fact most Americans post pics with it y’all on his dicc cuz he ja morant and in the nba🤷♂️
Chuck always making jokes and is not too serious which is much needed nowadays. But those rare moments when he does get serious u better listen bc he consistently speaks the truth no one else will
What I’ve been saying that no one but CHARLES has said. It’s not just Ja, it’s the people AROUND him that are ENABLING him. He does make his own decisions. He’s 23….however lest we forget his MOTHER told him to come down to a store because she wanted to be a Karen. If his mother is telling him to come to her aid and intimidate people with his friends and some weapons, what do you THINK he’s going to do? Everything his mother enables him to believe is ok to do! Damn!
His mother called him for help. Ja decided to bring a group with him. Can we stop blaming everyone around Ja? He made the decisions. He posted the video.
@@archie15900 absolutely he deserves blame. It’s Ja Morant doing all this, not his mother or friends posing as him. I do not believe his family and friends deserve more blame. I really hope you did not gather that from what I said. I am simply stating what no one else that I’ve heard but Charles wants to address: the fact that there ARE people around him messing his mind up, whether anyone like it or not.
exactly chuck!! wavin a gun around is no joke. Ja needs to be more responsible and needs to understand that he has a bright future. We the fans want to see him succeed.
"when you wave money around, someone gonna come see you. when you wave a gun around, someone gonna come and see if you're about that gun play" - uncle shay shay
Nothing but respect for this man. He once caught a lot of flak for saying he didn't want to be a role model for kids. His reasoning was sound but nobody cared to listen- a kids parents should be their role model, not an athlete.
TEhul the man is acting great, Are you calling him a thug a gangster just because he has a gun for his protection. He is making millions of dollars and is above the law.
@@mohammedhosein5210 There is a difference between having a gun for protection and boisterously brandishing a gun on a video while rapping along to a rap song. What Ja did is protypical thug/gangster behavior. Don't blame people for calling it what it is. Blame Ja for doing it.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. Ja has all the talent and potential in the world, I hope he listens to Chuck's advice - on point as always.
Its bigger than just Ja. His thing is reflective of a much bigger issue in the culture. And the responsibility is on everyone. Folks dont need to be out there killing each other. But its up to the rest of us to do little things in showing and proving to the youth that they can have a future. Lots of kids doing that sort of thing wouldn't admit it but they are depressed and desperate in their situation and see little point in living the right way. And thats sad af. We have to strengthen and solidify ourselves as a community and show folks that theres a better alternative out there.
Fact of the matter is, Ja got real money now I get wanting to help your people and staying around them. But it comes down to are those people good for him? Or is he headed down an inevitable path of jail or death…… praying for him
You can't help and save everyone and take everyone with you. We tell our young people to check their friends and cousins who aren't doing the right things because they will be judged by the company they keep.We had an older cousin who idolized Al Capone and started young by getting in public shootouts starting on his path to destruction. He spent his late teens and entire adult life in prison having to attend funerals of his mother and sister in chains accompanied by armed guards. He died mere months after receiving compassionate release. College professors and notable people lauded him at his funeral for being highly intelligent but we all asked why he couldn't accomplish that on the outside. I don't think Ja is that far gone but Ja Morant's behavior is escalating putting him under scrutiny and closer and closer to an encounter with police which may not end well.
If he truly felt they were people worth being friends with he would elevate them to positions that take them away from this kind of life; Like how Lebron did with his friends. He just wants to have an entourage, but he'll realize eventually you'll pay in more ways than one playing that game.
Kenny (Kot4q) from the Through the Wire podcast had a fantastic point about Ja. There are a lot of kids in the US, especially Black kids, who are stuck in that position, and for millionaire Ja Morant to put himself in situations like this when he doesn't have to is disrespectful if not insulting to them. And I could not agree more. These kids live in neighborhoods with horrifically underfunded schools, with zero good jobs, with terrible utilities, with overwhelmed health care systems, with unsafe and overpriced housing, and with little access to fresh, affordable food. One or both of their parents likely work 50, 60+ hours a week, and they're still too poor to go to the doctor if they get sick. And in a society where your net worth and your worth as a person are seen as one and the same, these kids are stuck in an environment where the only people with any meaningful money are gang members. They get told that the only way for them to reliably put food on their table is to join an organization where willingness to commit violent crime is a prerequisite for entry. Despite the fact historically, crime rates plummet when living conditons rise, their local governments are much more focused on throwing maximum sentences at criminals than on addressing the root causes of crime, which leads to more single parent households, which leads to more poverty, which leads to higher crime rates. It is a vicious cycle, and there are millions of people, hundreds of thousands of kids, stuck in it. Utterly abandoned by the system. Ja Morant is a millionaire. Ja Morant could comfortably retire right now on the money he'll make this year alone, and he's set to make even more annually over the next 4 years. His decision to put himself adjacent to gang life is a slap in the face to every kid living in a low income, crime ridden neighborhood with no clear way out. There are thousands of kids in Memphis and the surrounding area whose lives would be changed forever by 1% of what Ja Morant makes in a year, and they have to sit there and watch him pretend to live the life that or someone they love are stuck in.
I hope in five years time Ja is sat there on the panel talking to the guys about how he was able to get back on the right track, he could be a huge inspiration to people. In a way this low is an opportunity for him to do something extraordinary and I hope he's able to do it.
Superstars either learn or burn. Hes experiencing what his fantasy is the good & bad..now it's up for him to grow up or whither & fall..its mans game not a playground.this is why you dont idolize no star...you hurting for him & he doesn't even know you exists..feel sorry for those you know & do what you can to help them if its just words of encouragement..regardless of what happens to him hes rich! However, do you I get it he seems to be s nice dude..but he better get out of fantasy land.
Love Charles or hate him, he speak facts. I don't always agree with him. But gotta respect a man that stands on his word, no matter what. Him and Shannon are speaking so much truth about this situation.
Black in black crime hasn't gotten worse, it's just getting more attention from a certain part of the media. Ja is just being a dummy and he needs to cut it out. Stay in school, kids.
That stupid ass media phrase shouldn't even be part of your vocabulary in 2023. Crime happens to the people in your community who you're around. You don't hear that phrase framed any other way.
Sick and tired of people defending Ja, or trying to make it look less bad than it is ... I knew Chuck would not let it slide. He's too stoic for that. Thank you sir!
Well said Charles, I agree. Ja Morant has the potential to bring a championship to the city of Memphis. He's the complete package in my opinon, and has the IT factor. The team could still acquire another really good player though in my opinion to help them get to the Finals. Hopefully he can turn his self-destructive behavior around. Godspeed Ja Morant. It would be great to see the city of Memphis win their first World title in professional sports.
I think the difference is that this is the first time for Ja rather than Kyrie who's repeatedly done stuff. Like if this happens again in 2 years, he won't get the benefit of the doubt
@@kidkouga92 the first time for Ja? Dude has had allegations of violence for at least a year now. Kyrie hasn’t done anything near what Ja has been accused of AND what he actually did!

NBA should hold these players accountable. So that they'd understand that they should be professionals outside the court and they are role models that people look up to especially when you're an all star. Ja is risking what he worked for in High school and college just to act like a thug
As always, Chuck goes where everyone else in sports media is too cowardly to go. This is not just about Ja Morrant making a bad; Ja is a wealthy/celebrity example of the millions of black men who throw their lives away to embrace a violent and destructive culture. I wish Chuck had also mentioned how Ja and the Grizz are using this extended "mental health recovery" scam narrative to avoid a mandatory 50-game (minimum) suspension from the NBA
yep, I was wasting my time playing videogames instead of studying hard but I wasnt doing some of those dumb stuff these guys do, age should never be an excuse for some behavior that is simply wrong. There are a lot of players in the nba under 25 and none of them got into this mess that Ja has.
I blame it on the environment he grew up in. This is not a too young to be mature issue, this is the problem of not receiving a well-rounded education which teaches this young man how to be respectful and honourable.
Your rich , hire a body guard or have your team .. provide one for u .. don’t put yourself in , bad Situations .. but young people , think they are invincible. Hopefully ja , learns and be better
"gangster rap," which is not what it is now, has been around since the mid 80's and 90s! back when players that would act gangster were actually from that life, back when players could dress like a gangster to media events. the difference is social media!! That's where the Blame should be on
I'm glad that Ja took ownership of his own faults. The lifestyle was in a fast lane, and he just needed to reset himself and reevaluate his environment. He didn't grow up in a bad situation, so he will get back on the right track. I'm sure all the hard work his father put in with him to get him this far will not fail. Everyone will see a new, improved version of himself when he returns.
@C.J. It doesn't matter who wrote it, but it is what it is, and if he learns his lesson, then it's history... we are all human, and nobody is perfect .
They did lol. He’s going to miss more games than Kyrie and go through similar guidelines in-house that Kai had to clear before he returned to the court. 50 game suspension was never on the table for Ja. This is the closest thing to being held accountable as hell get
Lmao….23 is a kid. Your brain literally doesn’t stop forming until your 25-26 and in todays society most kids are still living with their parents until they’re 30.
@@joeshmoe8134 foh 23 ain't no damn kid your 5 years removed from high school n out here in the real world if you 23 and still feel like a kid look in the mirror
Yall quick to call someone a kid when you don't want to hold them accountable for their actions . Ja is a twenty-four-year-old man with a child. he knew better but for some strange reason felt as though he has a point to prove. He deserves what's going on with him hopefully he makes better decisions. Cuz he hustling backwards
One of the few celebrities that actually point out the black on black crime. Respect to the Chuckster it’s definitely a bigger problem but seem neglected by the news and media.
