Chuck one of the few guys who actualy puts things in the right perspective. KD in GS was only asked to do his job and "play ball", not lead the team. He joined a ready made system and culure in GS headed by Curry.
That’s facts but at the same token that’s why he left and that’s why he went there he realized winning in gs those championships weren’t meaningful they were expected to win every time
@@davidgaskins2589 Chuck’s point is that just because Iguodala got Finals MVP does not make him a better player on that team than Steph Curry. The same is being said about KD winning finals MVP. Steph won rings and had the best record in the league without KD. So how can you say KD is better than him, when by himself, KD has not accomplished as much. I don’t know what you don’t understand about that statement.
“You don’t join no 73 win team and say you’re driving the bus now.” He might not tuck his shirt in, but you can’t tell me Chuck ain’t the best analyst of the game on television.
He's the most entertaining, if you think he's the best basketball analyst you don't know much about basketball. Legler, J Rose & JJ Reddick are miles ahead of him when it comes down to being a "basketball analyst".
Kenny good he's a role player, he doesn't have the talent that the elite dudes have. Chuck talking about these superstars creating these teams that guarantee the win
That bus rider comment shot straight through Kenny smiths heart. And I love it because Kenny be thinking he that guy with the two rings Hakeem carried him too.
Facts! You can tell Kenny has a huge ego because the show is so popular. Dude forgets that chuck and ernie carry the show lol Kenny should be used to being carried
@ozcher My point being that Barkley jumped on two other buses. The difference being is that Durant did it at the right time and got 2 rings out of it. What's there not to understand?
Kenny definitely felt some kind of way this episode. His entire championship career was just invalidated by Chuck's analogy. Gonna be tough for him to straighten up after getting bent over live and direct. Shaq agreeing with Chuck sealed Kenny's fate.
Kenny will always feel some type of way. It's cuz he was the role player who got open for 3s. Both Shaq & Chuck were bus drivers for their team in Magic & Suns during their time. While Kenny was on the Bus to Hakeem's Rockets team.
@@linewalker why Phil Jackson gets so much credit but Steve Kerr barely gets any for the warriors niggas act like it’s hard to couch jordan and pippen or Kobe and shaq I could do that 😭
Chuck was on fire 🔥🔥🔥 for this one. If you watched him play you know he's 100% right, he put his team on his back and carried them to the finals. And that's what a superstar does.
That's cool 😎. Chuck tried to drive another bus 🚌 and lost. So he needs to hush. Unlike Durant, he did it twice. Unlike Chuck, he also won. And spare me the joining a super team argument, it's a weak reach because we've seen super teams form and lose. Durant didn't lose proving his worth.
@@younglove3362it was a very weak move and no matter what you say that will always be fact. Look how it went him joining a super team. Look how things went when he wasn’t part of it. Vast difference.
Two Hall of Famers. Kenny is a decent TV personality but its comical when he starts talking about his playing career. Kenny was never an all star. He'll make the Hall of Fame as a member of the TNT Inside the NBA crew before he could ever make it as a player. And even on this show he's being carried...
What's amazing to me is That" ALOT of These players are put in conversation"s simply because of who they are...Yet" when you get in a game and don't produce wins" They call it Defense" Yet for the last Few Years...if The Guy from Ohio has a bad game and the team still wins..He gets critizied" If he has a okay game...or if he passes the ball to a open shooter...Ray Allen.. Anthony Davis...He still gets critizied" ..LeBron has set the Bar so High" He has 2 Be Great on both ends of the floor" Nobody is talking about it" But it's Crazy to see KD AND KYRIE..JUST GIVE UP" IN A 7 GAME PLAYOFF AND NOBODY RAISING HELL ABOUT"
He was 0% correct. It's not a solo sport, it's a team game. If you wanna win, you can't rely on a single bus driver. You need a system where everyone can thrive and contribute on both ends. No player can singlehandedly win regardless of the system and the teammates, that's just crazy ignorant talk. No wonder Chuck never won with that childish mentality
Chuck is awesome. He was on point with the bus driver and bus rider analogy, and killed Kenny in the process lol. He almost left him speechless. How can Kenny brag now about him having rings and Chuck doesn't? Hilarious.
All great players have had bad games and bad series, incluidng MJ and Bron, y'all just prisoners of the moment. If you're the bus driver or whatever he wanna call it, then as far as I'm concerned you should step up when the game is on the line, when KD was in GS, who was hitting them shots, him or Curry.
It's silly. It's a team game and you need everyone to win. A rotation player can make big plays that win you games. Chuck's mentality is all about the solo act and it's exactly why he never won
@@imkotable those shots for the warriors had no pressure. Those were quick easy series and the dubs weren’t gonna lose so hard to call that clutch. The finals he lost he had a bad series, the 3-1 lead he had on the dubs he played bad that series and lost in 7, and now this year about to get swept. I don’t bring it up because I don’t think he’s on the same level as mj and Lebron. But the people trying to put him on that level need to expect this kind of argument against them. At the end of the day with KD on the team KD almost never got doubled and curry was doubled all the time. Curry was still the guy on those warriors teams. Curry was the leader of the team and he is the better player all time
The younger generations will never understand just how excellent Charles Barkley was. During The 92-93 Season, Jordan was at his Prime, and Barkley still won MVP… and he EARNED that MVP. Game 3, of the 1993 NBA Finals, absolutely amazing. Finally, let me conclude by saying Kenny Smith talks about those two Championships he won with Houston, like he’s a Hall of Famer. Sir Charles is right, Kenny wasn’t driving the bus. Those were “Dream’s” Teams. Kenny lost his starting role to Sam Cassell for that second Houston title, and Vernon Maxwell was a straight beast at point for Houston.
@@pereisjo878 Cap, Barkley was just better than Jordan that season Periodd. He would've won in 1990 to but he spat on a little girl so they gave it to Magic.
Chuck has never had a defense sell out to stop him. Wilt did. Kobe did. Jordan did. Maybe Tmac. Chuck didn't. People complain d when he was forcing it game 2 than they complain when he takes what the defense gives him game 3.
@@brendanbloom3366 are you crazy? Barkley won mvp and you think defenses didn't sell out to stop him. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
KD was the best player on GSW. Kerr was driving that GSW bus. His system allowed everybody to eat, but KD did hit the biggest shots in those 2017/2018 Finals.
@@depannist Kerr's system works on Steph's gravity. KD was a cherry on top of the cake not the cake itself. Curry's gravity gave him easy shots, and curry was the one being double teamed not KD which is why he could score easily.
He's mad because he's tired of people pointing out that he doesn't have a ring. He's venting, that's why he sounds ridiculous like the people that don't know sports. No wonder Jordan said he'd never win a ring.
How was that fact? Sounds salty to me. Like Kenny said it's drivers but some people give direction. Jordan Shaq Magic Larry LeBron Kobe Timmy would just be another Charles if it wasn't for those so called bus riders. KD was no where near a bus rider. That's like calling D Wade a bus rider when he played with LeBron
No he ain't. He's speaking excessively like a silly teenager who doesn't understand the game at all. It's a team sport, you can't have one bus driver or you never win. No wonder he's never won with that silly mentality
@@NORTHENDKING14 don't mention lebron and Dwade lebron didn't join a 72win team with the MVP and they already won a ring without him. Dwade and the Heat won 30 something games the previous year and didn't make the playoffs also that team was assembled that year and had to build chemistry with each other and a new coach . KD had no real responsibilities he didn't have to lead on or off the court. There was no pressure for him at all. When the pressure is at its highest he doesn't perform to his best. He's not a leader which is the problem.
Chuck is right about superstars are supposed to up their game during the playoffs. He seen it first hand. Jordan averaged 41 pts a game vs Suns in 1993 Finals and he averaged 35.1 pts during those playoffs. Chuck is usually right majority of the time.
@@tommygunn2782 exactly, L.A super team didn't make it to playoffs, Brooklyn super team are about to get swept, clippers super team were plague with injuries, and i just don't see sixers getting into finals
@@juliuseke27 There's no such thing as building a team organically. That doesn't actually make sense. Also, In the last 30yrs there have only been 3 super teams, don't let the media hype you up.
Kenny is the true definition of the bus rider. Remember wheb they use to have a segment about champions you can see isiah, steve smith, and there was kenny. Acting like he belongs to that league. He aint even on Robery horry's level. Just saying
This was personal for Chuck. He hears players throw "No rings" in his face all the time and he feels like if you weren't majorly responsible for the Chip, you don't need to mouth off to him, KD might have said something to him in the past and he wants that smoke now because he feels like those 2 chips KD has means nothing to him.
KD cheated the process, I have always said it. In these playoffs he's acting like he has never seen a double team before meanwhile Steph is doubled from the parking lot.
People clown Chuck about having no rings because hes a very nice dude with a great sense of humor, Ive never heard anyone make fun of karl malone having no rings in front of him because he'll knock the hell out of somebody
KD was an important piece in a well-built system, and we know the system was built around Steph not him, That's why he was still a bus rider on the Warriors. am a 100% with Chuck
I'm with Chuck on this. Most of the greatest players ever will say the only reason they didn't get there numbers Is cause of them not because of the other team
That’s why ppl should appreciate Chuck while he’s still here because he’s honest with other star players whereas some players like Kenny don’t wanna rock the boat cuz they’re scared cuz they werent that good. Chuck gives us another perspective and he’s right on bus riders too like Robert Horry and KD. They riding the the bus, they ain’t driving the bus to the championship. KD is a great player but he never drove the bus.
Lol. He has a point though. Some people get complacent with their role on the team. Duncan Robinson is good at catch and shooting 3's. He's not told to do anything else from coaches except come of screens and shoot or sit in the corner.
@@chiniechinchen that’s cool. Nobody said Kenny was garbage. Robert Horry helped 3 different teams win a ring by sitting in a corner, but they’re not Charles Barkley or shaq…
@@chiniechinchen a good game doesn't replace the reality of the rest of his career. He was worse in literally where category in the playoffs. Not everyone can be a bus driver on a team. There will always be a role players, but that doesn’t mean they’re just bus riders, they play an important role too.

Chuck is right I have never seen a great player in his prime lose to a team then join them next year. Especially after having that team down 3-1. Now we all know Chuck tried to create a super team at the end of his career and failed.
@@tylerriley5976 It's not about being part of superteam, I think it's ok. His point is you gotta be leading it, meaning it's on your shoulders, lose or win. KD joined a superteam that had a best historic record with an established system already in place. All he had to do was show up and score...that's not the same thing as owning it straight up like he was on the OKC (even tho he had Westbrook, arguably considered a superstar at the time).
You're going to continue using that old premature excuse to discredit a player? It's not old yet? If you're still using this then you're a sorry excuse of a person always relying on excuses and will never get ahead in life. 🙄
Chuck speaking facts today 💯 bringing that 🔥. Anyone who knows basketball, knows that in the 17 and 18 finals KD was getting tons of open looks or at worst 1 on 1 shots in the midrange or post. Curry and Klay made it so easy for him that he would get numerous easy shots in each game. Curry could have a horrible game and still the defense would be more devoted to him and that would open up the game for KD.
Anyone that knows basketball would know that Chuck did the exact same thing after wasting years in Philly but unlike Kd failed to get a ring. I swear, you young people be spouting nonsense and thinking y'all know everything. You all call things facts that are completely inaccurate.
Did Kenny just say with a straight face the bus riders are giving directions?! 😂😂 Hakeem ain't take directions from Kenny, tf is this dude convinced himself he was?!
I swear Kenny acts like he was the 2nd best player on the team or something. He was never even an All Star but always trying to come for Chuck because he don't have any rings.
Not gonna lie, if Kenny dont hit them 3s to get us back in that Game 1 Fianls against the Magic, then we may not win that series. We had no answer for the Magic that whole year and that game was looking like the other 2. Kenny gave us a spark and we never looked back
What in the hell passengers ever gave directions to the bus driver?? 🤣🤣🤣 I've been on Greyhound and not one time did the driver turn and ask us about the best route 💯😭
Yeah, he was a great player to have on your team. A border line all star player, not a superstar but there are only a small number of superstars. You don't get a nickname for being an average player. No shame in being carried by Hakeem either, Hakeem would be the best player if you put him on any team today.
He should, he was a back seat driver mostly and other riders were bigger. Mario ellie, mad max, otis thorpe. Even Cassell and Horry were monster as rookie and sophomore... Horry was built like Pippen
Kenny shouldn't be mad imo, Barkley was referring to superstar players when he made the bus analogy not role players, And he wasn't implying that role players aren't important to the success of a team.
