Hello. It is with great shame and regret that I must inform you that this excellent Chungle-down Bim compilation is missing at least one CDB ref. Upon yet another casual rewatch, I discovered that I missed a mention where Fabian is grappled by Captain James and 4 of Bill's cult attempt to use Repelling Blast to save Fabian. After 2 of the 4 succeed, Chungle-down Bim (as a bonus, also mistakenly referred to as Chungle-down Jim) taunts Captain James. I apologize for this fandom crime and will be taking 75 years of personal time to reflect on my actions. I thank my spouse and children for their support. I will not be taking questions after this conference, but if you do happen to spot missing references as I will continue to do, feel free to comment below and I will personally post you absolutely nothing for your effort.
Another one: When they go to the row and the ruction and roll initiative, Lou asks if he can make a Perception check to see if Fabian can spot Chungle-down Bim out of f e a r.
what i love is the idea that chungle-down bim hunted fabian down all the way to the nightmare forest. Its not resolved, he isnt dead and there is no reason he can't hunt fabian into junior year
That was the best 😂😂 They had all been there to see what happened, and they were just taking the shit out of Lou. One of the best, best moment of that episode.
I appreciate the fact that Chungledown Bim is seemingly so singlemindedly focused on shitting in Fabian's mouth that he apparently is literally fearless and the Nightmare Forest does not slow him down or distract him even a little bit, that is some serious work ethic
@@JiberishMCUTUBE he still would have needed to trap bill, no? I thought part of the whole thing was specifically using the powers of a lord of hell against their will
4:14 the “he told me he was gonna shit in mY MOUTH” makes me cry laughing every single time lou’s delivery is just. So good. Fabian is so broken. It’s incredible.
That moment and the one in which he realizes he's as good as killed himself and his dad's followers ("we're gonna jump on them and we're gonna MURDER 'em 😂😭💀") are so exquisitely, hilariously broken.
Love the implications that if it actually was him there then: - Chungledown is so fearless the forest has no effect on him - Chungledown is so driven that he could remember AND locate an invisible Fabian in this country sized forest - He’s somehow powerful enough to get through the magic demon wall unaided
@@TheBigE9999 His fear was evacuating his bowels before he got to Fabian, it manifested as the coffee acting as a laxative and putting him on a shorter time limit. He embraced it as he was confident he would get to Fabian before that happened. That’s why he was so dismayed as Fabian sunk into the earth, he knew the shit was coming and he couldn’t get it into the mouth it had to go in. That’s my theory at least.
I love how -Riz, presented by Baron no less, faced being alone and shunned because he's only useful to the bad kids and not loved by them, with a helping of Baron trying to needle his relationship to his parents -Fig had to confront the multiple facades she puts up, how she is a victim of her own behaviour in this regard, and the insecurities along with it. All clearly driven by some deep seated abandonment issues. -Adaine had to face living alone and without help with her anxiety and eventually outliving *all* of her friends and seeing them die -Gorgug's insecurity that he doesn't belong as represented by the walls closing in on him And Fabian? He's a lot to regret, to fear, especially after Leviathan. But the fear that really drives him? A sexy rat and an irate gnome threatening to shit in his mouth.
I think Riz is aromantic, or ace, or both. So Baron was taunting him with his friends all getting SOs who they settle down with and have no time for their friends anymore.
I feel like it highlights a fear that maybe wasn't Brennan's intention, but works surprisingly well: Fabian has been set up to believe he's destined for greatness, to aspire to be a figure of great importance and fame like his father. Chungledown Bim is ridiculous, he's silly, he and the rat are dumb and embarrassing things to have as some final great challenge. And that's the point! Fabian's fear is that he's a loser, that his greatest challenge is something as stupid and unimpressive as a goofy gnome. The lameness of the things Fabian faces is why they terrify him: that this is enough to undo him, that the forest can conjure anything to pray on his weakness, but all it needs is a weird looking rat. That he's going to lose to something this unimpressive and never achieve greatness.
@@YinYangBell I don't think that was intended (at least entirely), since Fabian's first fear was that he was forgotten. None of his friends remembered him, and were unaware of his presence entirely. However I think it goes hand in hand with that fear you mentioned of him being a loser. I think his real fear is more along the lines of not becoming a real hero like Bill said he'd be. Not only did nobody remember him, but his greatest fear is a sexy rat that his friend created (since chungledown bim was actually there. Only the rat was an illusion).
There's some fears of sexual inadequacy in Fabian, overshadowed as he is by a much more powerful father and then added to by his mother partnering with Gilear, so it makes perfect sense that his greatest hidden fear is that losing his virginity will be traumatic and disgusting. And it doesn't get more so than... whatever Bim and the rat were going to do.
Lou sob-laughing "ChUnGLe-DoWN BiM Is gONnA SHIT in my Mooowwthh." Kills me everytime, along with the hangman "I...will SHIT IN CHUNGLEDOWN BIMS MOUTH!"
The great thing about this subplot is that it's hilarious on one level and terrible on another. _We_ know that Fabian's going to be okay, but think of it from his perspective in the moment. This is the hardest of 180s - started out a dashing football prodigy born with a silver spoon in his mouth and 2 of the most awesome parents in Solace, got a sentient motorcycle, a kiss from a duplicitous but smoking hot Aelwyn Abernant, as well as his own group of friends. Cut to now: he's not only lost his father and his eye, he's also gained an imposter syndrome & inferiority complex, been separated from the only friends he has, and now he's about to be sexually assaulted and defecated in, in the _hope_ that this will help save his friends.
Tbef, the first relatively relevant scene of fabian is him getting stomped by the reality of not instantly joining the futball team A lot of his charactert is related to what he beliefs should happen and what happens, due to the incredible disconnection from reality, parttly from not living in it, partly for his father's storys, the first chapter of junior high is perfect on this aspect His greatest momments are when he accept this and challenges it still, like when he recovers from the biggest fall or when he kills the one he loves the most
I like that all of the bad kids nightmare illusions are legitimately borderline terrifying and then Fabian is just chased down by Chungle-Down Bim and Sexy Rat. And instead of having to face a deep introspective fear and come to terms with it, his way out is to willingly let Chungle-Down shit in his mouth.
He also has to come to terms with his fathers vision for him to “write his own face on the world” and that that is not his goal anymore at the end. That’s his final challenge he has to face after the physical fears.
Just so everyone knows, Chungledown is as of now, before Junior Year, actively hunting for Fabian. He is a Level 20 Fiend Warlock, has over 200 HP, 14 STR, 16 DEX, 20 CON, 20 CHA, 18 INT and 16 WIS, he has a familiar he can duplicate, countless spells to hurt or trap Fabian, amongst them Power Word Stun. He was powerful enough to get into and survive the Forest of the Nightmare King. And he can run up to 90mp/h.
3:41 honestly....... fabian relaying what went down with bill’s followers and captain james was one of the best scenes in the entire show. sometimes i forget that theyre all genuinely good actors and then they do stuff like this. lou wilson is criminally underrated you cant change my mind
For those who are unaware, this is not the end of Chungle-Down Bim. Dropout has a one off session with just Rizz, Gorgug, and Fabian where Bim makes a BIG appearance. Very funny. Fully recommend.
There's also another episode on the bonus episodes for fantasy high that is the making of Chungledown Bim. It's Brennan and Lou making a Level 20 Warlock character sheet for Chungledown and then Lou DMs a short scene for Brennan to play him.
"WHERE IS FABIAN SEACASTER!? I'M GONNA SHIT IN HIS MOUUUUUUTH!" Chungle-Down Bim howled. _"Shit in his mouth, you say~?"_ came a rather squeaky voice off to his side. Whipping around, the gnomish pirate saw an enormous rat- was it even a rat? It was bigger than him!- approaching, curvy hips swaying in a disgustingly sensuous manner. _"*I* seek to do rather... naughty things to young Seacaster as well.~ Perhaps we can... help each other~"_ The rat explained to Mr. Bimothy that she knew the Forest like the pack of her dainty, slender paw, and an alliance to see Fabian get his due was forged. _"Here~ This will prove useful~"_ she tittered in her squeaky voice, producing a large cup of coffee as if from thin air. The pirate grinned a misshapen toothy grin. This would be the shit of a lifetime.
Fabian's trial was both the funniest and the most genuinely terrifying out of all of them. The whole time I was laughing my ass off, while also genuinely terrified
I love how in the scene where Fabian is recounting what happened the night before to the other bad kids Lou is trying so hard to stay in character and weeping but he's also constantly trying so hard not to burst out laughing about the ridiculous pirate names and his terrible rolls in that fight. Honestly that whole segment of his meeting the pirates and fighting Captain James is the funniest scene in all of Dimension 20.
My favorite part is when Murph says, “We should go to chungle-down bim” and zac hits his fist on the table, leans forward and says, “to chungle-down bim” around 4:00. Idk it’s just hilarious to me
its interesting to consider that as a pirate by trade, Chungledown probably has been climbing rigging his whole life, so it's entirely believable he has some superhuman climbing ability
Does not really matter. Chungledown Bimothy is completely cracked. He can run up or more than 90mp/h (so like 158 tiles iirc in one turn iirc), he is Level 20 and his stats are insane.
@@queenofvermin ... you mean the season that hasn't come out yet? Or do you mean the only two episodes of The Seven that were released... 5 months after this comment was made?
If ur waffling about whether you need a dropout subscription, there’s an episode of adventuring academy where Brennan forces Lou to character build Chungle-Down Bim with him Edit: they’ve since used the build in bonus fantasy high content 👀
For the Bimothy fans out there who don’t have a dropout account at the moment, just know that there is a video where Chungle gets stated by Brennan and Lou and it is glorious content
Truly. They talked about creating fear in DnD being hard, except when you know you are alone and can not beat someone, e.g. Riz and Kalina, but what is so truly scary about Chungledown Bim is that his only goal is to do what he told Fabian and the dude is level 20 with insane stats. Even when Fabian encounters him, there is almost no way he can escape with all of Chungledowns Abilities and Spells (e.g. Power Word Stun).
rewatching in celebration for Junior Year's future release and because the Dimension 20 channel is going to post the rest of Sophomore Year here on RU-vid! Can't wait for those that hasn't seen Sophomore Year yet to finally experience the glory that is Chungle-Down Bim.
i have honestly lost count of how many times i’ve watched this, but i don’t think i’ve ever watched *just* brennan’s face during fabian’s retelling of the chungle-down bim fiasco. truly, chef’s kiss
Chungle-Down Bim should come with content warnings, I'm going to be having nightmares for weeks! also unrelated but Ally's hair looks cool centre-parted, deserved a mention
I truly need to know how Brennan, or which ever member of the D20 team, thought up the name Chungle-down Bim. I don't think I can die a peaceful death without understanding this.
The delivery of "HE TOLD ME HE'S GONNA SHIT IN MY MOUTH, HE'S GONNA SHIT IN MY MOUTH" really sounds like it's being said from an anxious, panicking, upset high schooler and also a man who is comedically broken by a man named Chungledown Bim threatening to shit in his mouth
Ok I may be alone in the fandom with this belief but I think that Cassandra is just playing a joke on Fabian and Chungledown Bim wasn’t in the forest. However, either way it’s so funny to me that Fabian’s biggest fears are so concrete. Like fig is afraid that no one can love who she truly is, gorgug’s afraid that he’s stupid… and there’s definitely stuff that bim represents to Fabian, but what Fabian fears in the forest is shit in his mouth (which is evident when you look at baron in the forest, who is already terrifying but haunts Riz with some deep insecurities)
If the Night Yorb can show up in episode one of Junior Year, Chungle-Down Bim can show up in episode four. And I'm also awaiting the return of Baron, from the Baronies.
You have failed to include the Boys Night Out, and for failing to include clips from material created months after publication, I decree you must suffer a complete rewatch of all of Dimension 20 in a snuggie so heavy you could not leave it. I hope you enjoy it, you criminal.
Honestly, I’d like to believe that the Dark Forest was going to involve James & Bill and, y’know, violent specters of all the dead pirates, but Chungledown bent Fabian’s nightmare around him the instant he entered, and the Forest had to use the Sexy Rat as a backup support.
