The thing is Garthy O'Brien goes into so many other real anagrams, like "bare thy groin" or "rebirth agony", but they used three-quarters of the letters to make a nonsense phrase and then went, "yeah that's gotta be it."
I think one of my favorite things Brennen does as a DM is how much he fully indulges in the players dumb shit and is like yeah the Night Yorb is a real thing now
Which is made even funnier by the fact that "Garthy O'Brien" very clearly has an "A" in it, whereas "Night Yorb" definitely doesn't. Turns out, something being "almost an anagram" ends up being important to sleuthing at least once then.
as an autistic adult in her mid 20s, I still cannot sit still and be happy... unless my brain suddenly turns off then I sit still gazing into the void for hours
@@Theology.101 if that's a Dimension 20 reference I've only watched Fantasy High, Misfits and Magic and like half of Unsleeping City (I'm on The war of Bugs and Rats)
@@matthewevans5486 Ah. Did you… did you watch this video? You speak not of the Night Yorb! (End of season 2, Riz accidentally summons the Night Yorb. And the Night Yorb is so terrifying that it made both the Hangman, a Literal Hellhound, and the Hang-Van, a Planetar, are both scared of it)
Even more fantastic news: in the documentary on Rick perry there is a shot of a spread sheet and one Episode is about defeating the night Yorb. The night yorb is (spoiler) a terrifying manta ray being and they possibly have a chase and fight it in the Red waste
You can rearrange Garthy O’Brien into Nighte Boyar. Nighte is an old way of spelling night and boyar is member or old Russian artistocracy. A servant of the Nightmare King perhaps? A former title of his before he became king?
I totally forgot Night Yorb was an anagram of Garthy's name by the time they met him, and apparently so did everyone else because no one asked him if he was the Night Yorb XD
My favorite part of this series is every so often, Brennan reminding the group and the audience that the characters are literal children. It never stops being funny.
I’m about halfway through S2. I’m astounded, but also not astounded at all, that Brennan is three for three on turning one off jokes into terrifying creatures. Baron from the Baronies, the Night Yorb and Chungledown Bim
They didn't even use all the letters to anagram Garthy O'Brien. Toy Harbinger, Arty Neighbor, Rebirth Agony, Groiny Breath, Bare Thy Groin, Yet Abhorring, Herb Gyration... I could go on.
Based on their establishment "Bare Thy Groin" and "Groiny Breath" work almost too well. Based on their role helping Ayda when she is reborn "Rebirth Agony" is also good!
I'm actually hoping there's something else for Junior year, then we circle back and have the Night Yorb as the Senior year BBEG (so people wouldn't have been expecting it)
