No one is responsible for another’s “feelings”. If someone feels uncomfortable because of a camera, they have some other issues to work on.

It’s sickening how they light up with adrenaline rush while they try to impose their power over someone. The face of a demon. Yet they are so so proud of themselves.

It's ironic Mormons show up at your house to talk to you about their religion but offended when you show up on the sidewalk of their church just standing around. Hell, you saved them lots of steps.

I’ll never understand why people think they have the right to tell others what they can and cannot do in public, on a public sidewalk. Very strange sense of entitlement. 🤷‍♀️

Imagine a congregation of people that come onto individual's private property all the time proselytizing have a problem with people standing on public property.

Born and raised LDS and I apologize for that 1 douchbag's behavior. True, there has been a rash of LDS church fires and graffiti over the last few years (so some people may be wary of anything out of the ordinary) but that has NOTHING to do with people like you in broad daylight exercising your rights. Out of ALL of the churches you have filmed from the sidewalk not a single one made me feel like I'd be welcomed with open arms... I have to say... the good book says spread the word... not try to hide it. Sad 😢 very sad.

One thing I've learned in life is what my mom told me many, many years ago... "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar" and "Treat others as you would have them treat you". Mean people just don't know how to act when you kill them with kindness, it completely puts them off balance.

It never ceases to amaze me when a group of parishioners come out from the safety of their church... And surround two innocent people who are silently and legally recording on a public sidewalk... Then claim that you're making their people feel uncomfortable... And on top of that... They're also demanding that you have to leave or they'll call the police to have them remove you... What kind of logical reasoning is that?... Doh!. 🤣

Imagine how easy it would be for this church to get the best pr in the world? The two young guys in the beginning were almost there... ...just go out, bring some water and a package of cookies and invite the camerafolk inside and if they want to video inside, let 'em do that too. Talk to them about the Christian message and why you're so devout and let them ask a handful of questions, shake their hand and let them be on their way. Perfect pr.

I am sorry you had to deal with disrespectful people from the Church. Most church members don't act that way. As a member of the church in Oregon, I do apologize. We are suppose to love one another as God has loved us.

It is enjoyable to watch these with the sense of entitlement as they call the cops for help. That provides a compelling example of how effective cops are at solving problems.

When people watch these videos, I wonder if they learn about the constitution and how just a fragile piece of paper and a simple exercise like this audit literally separates life in the USA from life in North Korea, or do they dig in and double down on their anger.

I like bow ties. But I can’t imagine ever wearing a white bow tie, particularly with a white shirt.

I have to say after watching your videos for a few months I'm very impressed by the way the majority of law enforcement in your area handle public photography. Here in TN they would never explain to a caller over the phone that what you're doing isn't illegal. The times they have sent police to check on you it seems the majority of them handle it very professionally, usually not trying to demand ID and often not even asking who you are. Here most cops believe they are supposed to demand ID from everyone they contact to write in their report and check for outstanding warrants. Most of them become quite aggressive if you explain to them you aren't breaking any laws and would like your rights to be respected. They come up with all kinds of things to try getting you to identify yourself. The most common is "I don't know what your intent is so I have to see your ID." I've asked exactly where on my ID does it tell them what my intentions are at any given time but still haven't found it. It must be some special feature that only law enforcement can see. I had a friend who was put in handcuffs and had his wallet taken so they could run his ID. Once the information came back and he had no warrants or criminal history the cops became even more agitated and demanded to know why he was there. He said wait, you said you needed my ID to find out what I'm doing here. You threatened to arrest me if I didn't show it to you then put me in cuffs and took it from me. I've told you multiple times what I'm doing here but because that isn't something you can arrest me for you can't accept that it's true. Now take another look at my ID where you seem to think it tells you what I'm doing or exposes some ulterior motive then you tell me what ILLEGAL thing I'm doing. Otherwise let me go so I can contact an attorney and get this lawsuit for violating my rights underway.

Being religious and /or belonging to religious cult does not mean that you are a good person.

As a member of a congregation who has fought for freedom of religion for 100 years and went to the Supreme Court and won 25 times, I can say you are welcome to take photos and videos inside our place. Use a phone though please as it won’t be disruptive as larger cameras are. And we are still fighting governments worldwide for these same freedoms and winning.

It amazes me that Grown men find nothing strange about a man being born, yet his mother is still a virgin, then the same man can be crucified to death, be sealed in a tomb and come back to life. Yet they do find it strange that some one wants to film in a public place.

I reckon I know that man in white with the bowtie. Can't remember where it was, but his peculiarity was he was a preacher (not LDS back then) who was also a used car lot owner. His punchline on the tv ads was "my prices are so low it's a miracle" small world!

Your audits are incredible! Glad you have the California public photography law paper at your side to give to people and educate them.

The fact that you do the same thing and one person feels uncomfortable while another doesn't proves that feeling uncomfortable is something that THEY do, not something YOU make them do.

As a member of this church (but not this particular congregation/ward), a good way to deal with members that come out and question might be to just say that you’re “just exercising your free agency.” Glad to see that no one freaked out too badly here , but Bow Tie did make himself look like an @$$..

I'm always amazed at how tolerant, accepting and understanding the followers of this god thing are.

The funny part is that the first amendment that grants the churches rights to freedom of religion is the same amendment that grants the videographers rights to film in public. Maybe you should mention this if you decide to repeat this scenario. I think the cops would have laughed about the gentleman's bowtie, too.

I'm a cynical person with no need for any church but I'm guessing half the reason people attend church is to be seen there. It is virtue signaling. These folks were very polite for the most part compared to many.

I’ve noticed that the police hardly ever show up to your audits when they get called (if in fact they are called). It seems to be a very rare occurrence. I wonder if it has anything to do with the kinds of places you choose to audit or maybe the areas. Is it just me, or do you see this too?
