A long while back, a friend and I ran a Fate-themed Roll20 campaign. For a confluence if reasons, the PCs' home base was Kotomine's church. So this was basically the hub theme, and after a while it drove everyone insane, even the co-GM and I. Yorokobe.
I've been trying to look up fate role playing in the hopes of finding a new D&D style podcast to listen to, sadly I can only find the FATE core system.
All of you making jokes are wrong. These are Asian characters so they all sound like Kahn except maybe Saber who has a modern British accent (other servants not from Japan lack native accents though).
The first time i heard this, i immediatly thought that something creepy was going on that church or that Kotomine would be creepy as all hell further down the line... and everytime i listen to it, it gives me the goosebumps.
I cannot walk into a church without humming this tune at least once. It's been years since I've actually read this story, but that fact might always remind me.
You know, when I first heard this I wasn't a huge fan of it. I read Stay Night after finishing Fate Zero, so I knew who Kotomine was and the reason behind some of his actions, but this music didn't seem too fitting at the time. Then I beat Fate and UBW, and suddenly I enjoyed this piece a lot more. It went from being forgettable, to being my favorite. Every time Kotomine showed up I was literally excited for this song to come on. Needless to say, when All Evil of the World came on for the first time, I lost my shit.
Kotomine strikes me as a very complex character in the Fate series; its hard for me to fathom why he does half the things he does; it seems like he doesn't care to obtain the grail for himself. People who can only find pleasure in suffering and destruction are not normal; they are mentally ill.
Miss Elly month old comment but meh. Kotomine didn't need the grail at first, but when he gets the grail in Fate/Zero and it shows him his biggest desire, he finally learns what he wanted all this time, pure destruction and pain. He wants the grail again, but this time he only wants it to answer his question. Why/ Why would God literally make someone like him? Why is someone who is born of such a holy line of priests given such dark desires? in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, he tells Bazett in a flash back that after the holy grail war in Fate/Zero he finally decided to accept who he is and all of the awfulness that comes with it. the only thing he seeks now the reason behind all of it.
cronnoponno I guess its good that Caren never meets him. She probably doesn't even know he's her father since he dumped her with his in-laws after her mother died.
cronnoponno I haven't gotten to play Fate Hollow Ataraxia yet. I want to download it but I have to find a site where I can do so safely without the risk of computer viruses. Doesn't Caren have her own route in which she has a relationship with Shirou?
Miss Elly Without spoiling too much, lets just say the Shirou in Fate/Hollow ataraxia is not quite himself. And no there are no routes in Fate/Hollow, there is only one path and a -MassivE aMOUNT- of optional filler for more character depth. You pick a place to go during the morning, afternoon, and night via a mini map and see events related to the spot you visit and how far you've progressed. If you want you can just only do the important parts and get to the end of the story without seeing all the other content, but that ruins the point of Hollow Ataraxia. It's not really a sequel or anything, it just massively expands on the characters already in the series.
I love this ost so much. I really feel like it's my favorite right after Emiya. I like it even more than everpresent feeling. It shows Kirei's character so incredibly well. From the first notes you already know what kind of person he is. His presence is bigger than that of anyone else, even bigger than that of literal heroic spirits. I love FSN so much bruh
Like I previously stated, I figured out you don't realize the existence of the original Fate/stay night visual novel. Except for a few songs from the anime and some other remixes, every song I've uploaded is directly from the visual novel. And since most people (myself included) feel that the visual novel is WAY better than the anime, I put priority on uploaded the songs from the VN first.
I remember the first time i heard this I thought "Oh, this music.....strange" and when i saw Kotomine for the first time i immediately didn't like him. His face and the way he talked just kinda pissed me off.
It's actually a nice theme for creepy vibes. I sometimes listen to this whenever I'm writing out my story or drawing out some characters, times when there's a little bit of exposition on a power up, or a lore about a dark power. For example this theme would fit well with say Berserk, that moment when Skull Knight explains the berserk armour to guts, or in another moment when in the Elf Island, when the blacksmith was banging on his armour and he got some flashbacks of that other eclipse scene. I actually drawn and written out some scenes like that with this music beforehand of a fanfic, to foreshadow the ultimate costs of a dark power up my character received from an angel of vengeance in the middle of the story, which raised the stakes even more for the later parts of the story.
I spent so much of my high school life being FORCED To listen to this because it takes forever to get through kirei’s explanations of everything. It makes me angry just listening to it.

I love this song so much for so many reasons 💖 I actually really prefer this version to the 2012 version that used a real organ. This one just feels so fake, perfectly fitting for a fake priest. Its kind of funny how the budget constraints accidentally ended up complementing the themes. I could say more, but I'll save that for a soundtrack analysis video someday. Also, this song is very interesting musically. It doesn't start or end on the tonic note and doesn't fully stick to it's key signature (f# minor), which I think makes it sound even more unsettling.
I'll always remember the first time I entered that Church, singing praises for Joji Nakata's voice till the first hour...by the end of the second hour...if I never got into that church again...it would have been too soon. Thankfully I made it all the way till HF...and it was worth it. I still regret those two hours though.
The problem is that I cannot trust that the RU-vid video editor is lossless, so I would have to upload a 10-hour file. A 20-minute one is already ~300MB, so that would be... *does some math...* Oh dear, incoming meme. It'd be OVER 9000!!!! (MB) Seriously, 9GB. And with my upload being only 75KB/s at best, that'd take me... *does more math...* 33 hours to upload! This wouldn't be so much of a problem if I lived alone, but I don't!
wasn't used in the FSN anime. wasn't used in UBW anime. if this song will finally make it into the HF movie we probably get a new definition of goosebumps
+Max Es It almost certainly will, though almost certainly as its Remix. All The Evils of the World. After all, that's the ONLY route that song plays in (since it's the only Route where Avenger / Angra Mainyu takes center stage). The first time I heard this song is gave me an unsettled sense something was off. I thought it was just that Kotomine was a villain (not that they tried to hide THAT). Then I got to Heaven's Feel and learned just what was unsettling me... Music can evoke so many emotions, and this one pulls just the right strings for "Something's not right here". Much like the Sword of Promised Victory pulls the right strings for "Glory, Awe and Power. Behold, a LEGEND!"
I would say yes if it wasn't Kajiura composing the movies. She just detests being told to "use" songs. To the point she had to be forced to make the remix of Sword of Promised Victory. She vehemently refused at first (this is also why she never used Emiya Time Alter for Kiritsugu)..
If you want to sleep, or if you can't sleep, play this song. My goodness.......... this was my biggest obstacle in overcoming the game. I had to literally prepare myself by drinking coffee before I play this scene. That's how bad this song is for me.
Sterling Muse That's what made me sleepier. His soothing deep voice suits the music perfectly, I had a real hard time staying up to focus on what he was saying, lol!

@blacklustwolf Technically I don't take requests, but I do keep in mind what people want - usually it just shifts the priority of things I already plan on doing. And in this case, I plan on doing all the songs eventually - so yes, Embrace will be done at some point.

@SparkServant But my loop + replay is even better :P Ya know, if you want endlessly (or custom amount) looping versions, you can get them in BRSTM format and play it back with VGMstream for winamp and foobar2000. (note that technically the BRSTM versions are lower quality than the originals, but I'm not sure you'd notice)
@SparkServant BRSTM is a Nintendo console audio format, and it is made to loop back into itself, and I've converted most of the Fate/stay night music into this format. It's just that BRSTM isn't supported by any media players by default, so you need a plugin - in this case "VGMstream" (there are versions for both Winamp and foobar2000)
I like how Kirei' theme is basically a remix/other version of "All the evil of the world/Konoyo subete no aku". Even if you didn't immediately realize that he was evil his theme was already forsehadowing that fact for you.
Probably because Kirei is actually evil and this theme is lighter, whereas Sakura is not evil (possessed by mr. Angry Manjew) and her theme is darker. It's blurring the lines.
Shirou and Kirei had desires, absolutely opposite desires at that. Shirou desired to protect and save. Kirei desired to inflict pain and suffering. Their satisfaction was based on the idea of either protecting or destroying human life.

Does anyone know what the name is of the OST from the anime that is a 'distorted' version of this one? The one played when Kotomine Kirei *SPOILER* stabs and kills his master.
