It’s neither good nor bad; It just is, and it is what you make of it. I will tell you that our world is absolutely not at all friendly / accommodating / accepting of adhd or otherwise “different” people. ADHD absolutely confers a lot of strengths / benefits, and a lot of weaknesses / challenges.

I'm a mechanic, I fabricate things from metal, weld, and build things. Repair things that aren't supposed to be fixed. I know my ADHD takes over, sometimes allowing me to hyperfocus, and complete a task most people can't even visualize. My son is 12. The school wanted a meeting with me. They said the same exact thing I heard at his age. "Very smart but does not care to complete homework. We believe he needs medication to help focus." So I ask, "what about art? He does extremely well in art. What about math, he ace's any test you can give him. He knows the material, why does homework matter if he already knows the material?" He learns so fast, he is bored by the time the other students finally get it. School was not designed to help people learn. It's designed to make you think a certain way. I'm not going to medicate away the very same thing that makes me an asset in society.

I was adhd before they had adhd. My medicine was whippings, but after I became an adult and served in the navy ,i was allowed to become a police officer ,then as a detective conducting interviews and interrogations . I could hop down every rabbit hole a criminal wanted to go down and still keep my eye on the confessions. It helped me with victims who couldn't communicate clearly or had a hard time describing things. It helped me communicate with foreign nations because I could see what they were trying to say when it was difficult for them to display English. I could see things criminals were doing because i could see outside the box and not just what we commonly saw to draw conclusions. Criminals dont operate the way rstional people think. ADHD helped me ve as random as they were to catch them.

My theory is that ADHD was diagnosed as a bad thing, because the teachers weren't equipped to handle those types of students. Teachers are trained to act like prison wardens not cultivators of creativity and critical thinking.

One year I was teaching, I had 2 ADHAD students who had particularly difficult issues with their diagnosis & couldn’t function without their medication. I ended up explaining to a class that they were both in that ADD/ADHD wasn’t a disability for everyone and that I also had an issue with it & that I use it to my advantage. The look on both of their faces was absolutely amazing and one of astonishment, and I was so glad that I was able to get that message out to everyone in my class that day because I knew that they weren’t the only ones who were dealing with those symptoms in that year.

He's debunking that it's necessarily, or exclusively, a negative trait. It's the right word after all. In the future, if you want to make a claim that something is the wrong word, it would help you comment if you'd also include what you regard as the right world, or at least, a better word. That way, you at least look like you're trying to think it through instead of just playing the 'vacuous hit and run' game in the comment section.

It depends on the situation and setting like always. When I was young and had the ability and time to pursue my interests it was a super power to be able to hyper focus. Then as I aged and became a parent and my responsibilities grew with each child and I lost the luxury of hyper focus, that’s when shit hit the fan and normal functions became harder and harder. That’s why many with the inattentive type don’t often get diagnosed until later in life esp women

If I can relate to a task or find it interesting, I will latch on and work for hours. Especially if the task is mentally challenging. After decades of actively working on Executive Function Disorder strategies, it has become a blessing. It also helps to be married to a Behavioral Therapist.

Adhd is a learning disability, it is not bad or good. It prevents students from learning in large classrooms. It doesn't mean they can't learn, they NEED a lot more resources, that most times they don't get in schools because there is not enough funding, or class sizes are too big, or the parents don't want to admit their kid has problems learning. As a public school teacher with no control over class sizes, I'm helpless most times if I get students with adhd, not because I don't care, because there isn't enough support. It's a very grey area, not black and white like he's trying to make it out to be.

You sort of sound like you didn't understand adhd, and this may have been more harmful than anything Especially on the psyche. If you keep telling your kid they have some great advantage they begin to feel like they're not good enough to live when they are, in fact average My mom always said the same thing and never let me use needing a break or a breather as an excuse and I was suicidal by four years old
@cynthiaj.2687

It also depends on how the person receives the information. My son is thriving - no mental health issues such as depression or anxiety. Not sure how having a superpower would correlate to not feeling worthy to live, but we are all different 🤷‍♀️ Not sure about the whole break or breather thing... perhaps that was a factor for you- perhaps some other underlying conditions there as well 🤷‍♀️ Either way, best of luck, hope you got past that

I learned to overcome SEVERE anxiety/depression understanding the many "gifts" I was born with and understanding the truth of Spirituality. I use my ADHD to my benefit to connect things in life most "ordinary" people just can't and wont understand. It's great to be EXTREMELY hyper aware of your surroundings both physical and inter-dimentional. I STRUGGLED through childhood/early adult life not knowing why I was so different from everyone, I didn't understand my gifts (Predictable Predictions, Telakanesis, Seeing/talking to the dead in real life)- others couldn't understand me till I showed them proof (Secrets only their passed loved one and them knew, Teleporting objects to mess with people 😂) I only told few people of what I can do. It's fucking amazing. You don't understand unless you have the ability. It's a gift you're given, to use with your "body/vessel" on earth. I understand everything about life, death and the universe. I love my gifts, once I understood everything about me, I actually didn't want to kill myself and I LEARNED TO LIVE HAPPY, Terra.

He’s mentioned a handful of times he’s got “emails” proving he was a super spy but he’s never actually shown any of them. Besides the obvious red flag of him not knowing what “SERE” stands for he also uses the term “spy” a lot. “Spy” is not a word the CIA uses. They’re called “case officers”. A slightly less obvious red flag is Andrew has talked in depth about character traits the CIA looks for in prospective case officers. Character traits the CIA is looking for IS THEIR MOST CLOSELY GUARDED SECRET! They don’t want you to know. If you did you could game the screening process. Anyone that was in the CIA can prove it. If they claim they can’t prove it because of how super secret their job was then they’re either full of it OR they’re breaking their NDA with the CIA by telling you and you shouldn’t believe them anyways.

Lol and I love how out of all things to fraudulently impersonate, this dude chose pretending to be one of the most evil and disgusting types of people imaginable: a glow/Vigger. He wants so badly for people to think he's intelligent or talented when being an officer in the CIA would only show him to be the opposite, assuming he actually was one. 99% of glowies are people who weren't smart enough to get a real job doing something actually productive, and chose instead to go for a job that requires nothing more than a clean background and a willingness to carry out any and every evil act necessary to get ahead. They rely on manipulation because they aren't good at anything else and the CIA is the perfect cesspool for such degenerates. Great choice in a costume to put on for views, Andrew.

Add to that the Dyslexia and it was certainly frustrating. Could I have done better in school if I didn't have it? Certainly! Could I have done the things I did as an adult if I didn't have ADHD? Possibly not!? At the end of the day it kinda helped me adapt and overcome! My son has pretty bad OCD, but knowing that doesn't seem to help. Took a whole 9 years of completing primary and high school with great difficulty in social interactions and getting anything done more than the last second. If you don’t do medication at least get your child some behavioural therapy cause they’re going to benefit from help, and they’ll probably be less mad at you if you give it to them instead of let them grow up and figure it out for themselves and then realise they didn’t have to suffer for so long because you were too selfish to consider anything out than a scheme that the whole world is in on. You’re not the expert for a reason, and you will never be able to comprehend what that child’s life will be like. It’s incredibly selfish to deprive your child of some help because you think it’s a scam.

ADHD might be great for when the person is in marketing or a highly idea driven industry…not a great disorder for follow through, time management, or quality control. Who wants an unmediated mechanic or project manager with ADHD?

I would take one further step before. If you were to read up on medical statistics, you will realize that the prevalence rate of ADHD climbed ever since the onset of mandated vaccine shots in infants and young children. Coincidence? 🤔 maybe but, most pertinently, consider what crosses or permeates through the brain-blood barrier. There are a good number of solid books on this.

Higher death rates, substance misuse, poor relationship management, propensity for unhealthy relationships, higher impulsivity, poorer sleep quality, high correlation with autism, higher correlation with auto-immune disorders. People with bi-polar can connect disparate thoughts together. ADHD is bad, doesn't mean it's the person fault they have it but literally all the benefits of ADHD are imaginary. Hyper focus was one thing we thought was a benefit u Tim we researched it and figured out it was basically just the flow-state and average Joe can experience. The statement made here sounds highly personalised, extremely uneducated and was stated too confidently.

This dude is the Gilbert Arenas of the CIA. Some of his takes are on point but a lot of them are wild 😂
@khosen6592
@khosen6592 9 месяцев назад
I think it has to do with the fact he was a CIA spy and not a CIA analyst. He provides great insights from the CIA but makes claims that are laughable and blatantly untrue. For example, a month ago on a podcast he said Saudi Arabia and Indonesia joined BRICS.
@daviday87

@@khosen6592 nah, I’ve known some CIA analysts who also have wild takes, and it is usually on topics outside of their specialized knowledge base. Everyone comes at the world with their own biases and blind spots but hosting podcasts with frequent content is a good way to expose yourself to higher scrutiny.

@@daviday87 I’m interested in what those wild takes are as I doubt they are as ridiculous as saying a learning disorder is beneficial. And if those takes are as easy to debunk as something like the countries I mentioned joining BRICS.
