With a show that cheers that hard at a costume change and the last note at the end HOW DARE THEY CLOSE IT. To be honest... The Lion King isn't memorable to me. Aladdin is just meh. This is some legit vocals.
With the ease she has singing this I have no doubts she can do the original key perfectly. They probably did half a step down to save her voice since she had to do so many full shows a week. It's the smart sustainable choice.
@@martinmoore2468 Well, that would make the whole theater think that "she looks storm from X-Men" and I think the production doesn't want that hahaha but I get your point.
Tbh the song itself isnt that great. If it came out as a musical song first and not in the movie, I think it doesn't compete as good as other Disney classics.
Martin Moore unfortunately Idina (the film version) has shown repeatedly she can’t reliably hit the high notes live. See: the oscars, or the New Year’s Eve performance
Vicki Hidalgo It definitely did :( The Elphabas that followed her use more of a healthy mixed belt rather than a full chest belt. It’s just not sustainable to belt that high eight times a week.
@@victoriaacrage6342 years? she recorded the voice and the performances i mentioned were all within a year of the movies release. im with you on her voice being damaged, but that traces back even to her later performances in wicked. i shouldve made clearer, my point was broadly about her poor technique before and since let it go. heck, even in the live spots where she hits these notes you can clearly see how hard she is straining
Callum yes years, she joined the workshop in 2000 and played her last performance in 2006. That definitely is enough to damage a voice. With studio recordings you can do retakes if you’re having a bad day in order to get it right but if you’ve got a live performance on a bad day, man
