Thanks for sharing - even though this was filmed a couple of years ago, I still found it quite applicable to looking for a job today. There was no mention of covering letters during the talk - would you consider the covering letter just an extension of the CV and apply those tips for CVs to cover letters also? Or was there anything extra to consider? I was also looking for a webinar on progressing from qualifying to associate membership, as well as how to complete the CPD and the CIEEM framework for progression in membership - is this something you have, or are planning to share? Thank you.
Honestly, all this babbling is very philosophical and vague. It is so ironical to hear people that have been working nonstop since long ago talking about how to get a job right now. I mean, they do not know what it takes to get a job in 2019, right? Go tell someone that has been unemployed for 6 years in a row to be "passionate about nature" and be "involved". First of all "involved" in what? In a company that never hired you?. Of course, someone that reviews CVs and make interviews thinks is a good idea that candidates pinpoint theirs on flaws, that way they can move to the next CV quickly. Clever I must say. "Don´t tell me you have wonderful IT skills, give me evidence", hearing this is painful. Tell me, how can you give a previous workpiece (let´s say, a map, a database, a report) to another company that is interviewing you? HOW THE HELL CAN YOU PROOF YOU HAVE A SKILL WITHOUT INCURRING IN A CRIME?. "Look at if you reflect that language" please, a fortuneteller is more precise than this woman. I am done with this video, really a waste of my time. As an unemployed person in the UK, I cannot sit here hearing beautiful and empty monologues.
When someone asks you give evidence of a particular skill either at interview or on a CV they typically mean give an example not literal physical evidence. They just mean they want to give an example of something you've done, walk them through the steps you took and tell them about the outcomes etc.
