When I first came to Europe to study, I spent my last money to buy VOGUE, just because NAOMI was on the cover. Then couple of years later I bought the VERSACE Richard Avedon coffee table book and said to myself ... those 5 girls are amazing !!! The real Supermodels and gave the brand, the Identity, which they needed, as soon as those 5 girls walked on the runway. Then couple of years later ... I sat on the VERSACE Fashion Show TRIBUTE COLLECTION to GIANNI VERSACE and suddenly NAOMI, CINDY, CLAUDIA, HELENA and CARLA walked on the runway. That was the most memorable moment in my career in the fashion industry.
Helena was the most beautiful model of her time. Don't remember a thing about her walk, but her face in photos was spectacular. Wonder if she kept her beauty like Naomi has 18:00.
That's what I was thinking. There's a knowing in her eyes, she's known Naomi a long time and it seems like she was expecting Naomi's interruptions and self-directions of conversation. Both so beautiful.
to think ALL the gems we missed due to Naomi and her constant interruptions...geeesh I love Cindy is such a willing tea spiller, Naomi obviously needs a friend.
asava17 I agree Naomi didn’t interrupt on purpose she was excited to be having this live convo for her first show talking to her dear friend of 34 years. I love the love they all have for each other. What a special heavenly group of ladies with a capital L 🔥🔥🔥
I'm 35 and I also feel like I grew up with them. I was only around 5 y/o when I saw Cindy in Loreal Elseve shampoo and she literally made me speechless back then. I was in love.
The best part of this interview is when Cindy reminds us that we should call friends who are living alone during these times. And, the fact that she acknowledges that she is fortunate in the fact that she doesn't have to worry about bills, unlike most folks who can't work and are struggling. Kuddos to Cindy on this.
Candy Jones nobody is perfect! The lifestyle of a woman like Cindy and Naomi is kind of inconceivable as a “normal” person apart of the mass population like you and I.... my point is that I don’t blame Cindy or a person of that type of lifestyle for being jaded to a certain degree
Cindy graduated Valedictorian in high school then earned a scholarship at Northwestern University to study Chemical Engineering. She later on dropped out to pursue modeling. She's both beauty and brains!
Dine and Serve with CiCi He is clearly implying that Naomi does not have good manners.. I’m so tired of people like this. Spitting negativity for some likes
Jedidja B You seem really bothered 😂and obviously unaware of what defines passive aggression. You’re also obviously upset at whoever has the audacity to defend Naomi over the likes of Cindy. How dare we!😂
Dine and Serve I agree with you on this and it’s quite pathetic to see how people take it so personally when someone has the audacity to criticise or point something out. It’s all about perception and what I will see one way someone else will see another and some people can’t take and feel like it’s personal to them that you dare to even say something like that! Like I say it’s pathetic!
No Filter with: Linda Evangelista Christy Turlington Claudia Schiffer Kate Moss Stephanie Seymour Tatjana Patitz Yasmeen Ghauri Helena Christensen Pleaseeee!!!
I love how “The Supermodels” are family in real life. I love seeing how happy Naomi is when she is talking to Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford. You can see that she is truly home with these ladies ❤️
Dicho Kusarov I guess it’s just a matter of time when we get to watch Kate and Naomi having a chat. Naomi most probably saving the best till last. They’re the best of friends after all.
They clearly love themselves lolololololol I actually met Cindy Crawford on the set of Fair Game in 1995 and she was a very nice person! She was gracious enough to take a photo with me too 🙂💛
@@lyndoraburroughs-robinson5663 I don't think he gets enough recognition nowadays as everyone is into the edgy artsy look but the genius of Herb was how effortless everything looks like he was a paparazzi that just happens to be at the right place and right time. He's able to put everyone at ease and portray them as how they want to be not how society views them.
Cindy is a world class beauty...so eloquent & grounded. Naomi is stunning & regal... Naomi shouldn’t interrupt so much...I wanted Cindy to finish answering some of the questions that were cut off mid stream. I really enjoyed the connection and true friendship they obviously have. Can’t wait to see who Naomi’s next guest is! Naomi you are an inspiration and force! ❤️👑🔥
It's her first show, and she's having a chat with a friend, with whom she has many memories...jeez! Give her some time. Also, it is not the easiest habit to break!
God the supermodels of the 90s were absolutely EVERYTHING!! So glad I lived in the time of the zeitgeist! These young chickenheads today are trying but could never hit the iconic level of Cindy, Naomi, Linda, Christy, Paulina! It was indeed a moment in time.
WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS: DO YOU THINK THAT A PERSON IN ICU OR INTENSIVE CARE WILL CARE ABOUT A FASHION MODEL OR THE FASHION INDUSTRY? THIS IS NONSENSE NOT RELEVANT TO THE NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS AT THIS TIME. ATTENTION: GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OR HELL IS YOUR FINAL RESTING PLACE
I was a design student in F.I.T in the 80's. My classmate was a Wilhelmina model and I would go with her on shoots. Amazing time for design. I owned every Vogue issue. I'm rambling..legends
this was the best "no filter" interview amongst 2 iconic fashion models who's lives grew, turned business-women but who have remained friends through out it all. That says something.
I haven't taken my eyes off Cindy the whole time! What a beauty! I saw an interview with her an her daughter Kaia .. Kaia is super intelligent and beautiful her parents you can tell has great communication with her❤️❤️
these two women have impacted my life in such a way that I cannot even begin to put into words (can't believe i'm tearing up as I write this). as a gay black boy (now black man) I didn't have the best life, and it had gotten to the point that I considered and even attempted suicide. food and television were my escape...and when I saw a little show called 'House of Style', my life began to change. Cindy Crawford gave me an escape, and she then introduced me to Naomi "THE" Campbell...the woman who has taught gay men the world over how to walk. it is because of these two women that I made the choice to not only live, but follow my dreams. I moved to NYC, got into the fashion industry, and landed a job dressing models backstage during the shows for NY Fashion Week. and then one day it happened...February 2005, the Anna Sui Fall 2005 show. I scored a PA internship with Videofashion News and was not only able to attend the show, but was able to get backstage too. Naomi was in the show...and I couldn't help but be blown away. I was in the same space with one of the women that not only impacted me, but planted a positive seed in my life. after the show was over I made my way backstage to try and get a pic with her, tell her that she helped me to dream of a better life for myself, and ultimately say thank you for being that light. I never expected that once I got backstage she would be standing right there...directly in front of me. it was like when Oprah finally met Mary Tyler Moore, but I couldn't scream and breakdown like she did...so, I did my best to keep it together. I was shaking (badly), and my mouth started to dry out. I just knew this was my moment. I took a deep breath, and said "Naomi, can I take a picture with you"? she turned around to me (and so did the people that were with her), looked me up and down, rolled her eyes, and walked away...not before giving a quick interview to Lloyd Boston for Full Frontal Fashion. even though I was in a room (a very loud one) full of people...it went silent, all I could hear was my heartbeat, and my breathing. I didn't breakdown and cry, but...it did do a number on me. I truly didn't expect that. years later I tweeted Cindy about House of Style and what it meant to me, and she replied in the warmest and nicest way. I tell my story/experience not to be mean or vindictive, but just to say be careful how you treat people. you never know who they'll turn out to be. that and you never know what a person is going through/has been through, and how you may have help them navigate through that difficult period. be blessed, stay safe, and know that you matter.
when I was reading your story I kept thinking: please don't ask for picture first ..and there you go. I think it would be different story if you could start a normal conversation, said how much she meant to you and eventually as a bonus ask for a picture. I can only imagine Naomi as a celebrity is asking for taking picture for years, people just want to use her image to have more likes on IB or Facebook. I feel this way so I'm not surprised she rolled her eyes. I'm sorry...
@@simong8527 thanks for the response, but it would've been extremely weird to her and for me quite frankly to just go up to her and unload all of my emotions, feelings, and tell her my story...backstage after she just finished modeling in a show. at this point, it is what it is. I was extremely disappointed in her for how she dismissed me as nothing in that moment, not worthy of her time. from what I've seen over the years she has worked on herself, and has grown tremendously as a person. I couldn't be more proud of her. I took it as a lesson learned, especially that old saying about meeting people you admire/look up to. it was my fault for expecting her to be as nice as Iman, Roshumba Williams, Christy Turlington, and Karen Alexander was to me when I met them.
@@tlw11217 That's so horrible!! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I think she is a nicer person now, but that doesn't change that awful moment that is so strong in your memory. I'm so glad that other models were nice to you.
You also don't know what they are/have been going through. What makes you think that you are the only person who deserves to be understood from the inside out? Did you take a moment to get to know them before you judged them based on your limited, 2- dimensional expectations? It works both ways.
This is a brilliant conversation between two greats. It has a natural flow and cadence that is much like a verbal ballet. Bravo and looking forward to more!
i love u Naomi and cindy i always admire you since my childhood time you are so beautiful your generation. Of model are the best I get a chills i really miss the 90s
Two icons who are so inspirational and power houses, I love their lives in the 90's, there are still videos on RU-vid of their life's then, simpler times. Please continue these, I've always wanted your videos to be longer, so blessed.
It is a true joy to watch you two legendary ladies Naomi & Cindy talking! two completely different characters who grew side by side in the heyday of fashion...priceless! Thanks Naomi & Cindy xx
Thank you Naomi and Cindy for letting us in on this personal conversation. Naomi what a great idea at this time. I have finally recovered after battling 5 weeks of Covid 19 and your natural interview style gave me much happiness. So lovely to be watching two friends chatting and such a lovely escape for a moment from everything going on in the world right now. Peace, Love and Prayers to all 💖🌏from Australia.
I feel like you can just watch the two of them for hours and still can’t get enough, this is such a delight! Now I’m SUPER excited if she’ll do it with the Trinity or with the other supers.
Maybe not, I’m 58 years of age. I’m dark skin, a health freak, not in menopause yet and everyone thinks I’m 35 years not just in my body but I also look 35 in my face, no one believes me when they see my photo or when they see me in real life. I do have a Mother as well that looks really good for her age. She’s 79 and everyone thinks she’s in her 60’s and we’ve done no Botox or anything else and I’m not rich
This was so wonderful to watch. While I tend to appreciate the days when we did not have the advanced technology of today, without it we would not have the ability to witness a conversation with these two remarkable living legends. I love you both and look forward to the next No Filter with Naomi! ♡ ♡ ♡
friends tend to finish each others sentences..and true friends never even notice because both get so excited..its not cutting someone off but sharing a heart that. no one could understand but them..ya'll will feel this when you have true friendship that with stands time.
@@shebamaree9026 please don't up lift people who could never out walk could never take better pictures. Please please please understand the difference. You are literally comparing Barbra Streisand vs Ariana Grande. Whitney Houston vs. What ever modern artist. There are no comparisons.
Naomi, you have an incredible amount of spiritual energy around you. I caught so many orbs in the background. But on a side note, you two just don't age. Absolutely gorgeous! Inside and out.
this was great! you can tell they are friends. I love hearing all of the behind the scenes stories. These women I idolized and were my introduction to fashion. They worked with all of the great artists- photo, hair , makeup, the magazines- ALL of it.. I'm so glad I grew up in the 80's and 90's.. Naomi- I know Linda has been low key but you have to get her in a interview!! I love her. Naomi- you heat such a great spirit about you and are beautiful inside and out. I remember that House of style you were on- and remember Fashion Cafe????
Very enjoyable interview. Wonderful how they paid homage to the designers, photographers, makeup artists, caterers and crew. They would tell the stories of different photo/video shoots and make you feel like you were there.
I love this conversation so much. Naomi and Cindy are LEGENDS and have SO much to share with us about the modeling/fashion industry. Thank you SO much to you both for doing this.
A M A Z I N G!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely Adore this vidéo! To be able To see the bond Naomi and Cindy still have together is the testimony of their realness, loyalty and sisterhood going on from back Then To this days! #Team90ssupermodel 😘😘❤❤👑
THANK YOU, NAOMI AND CINDY, for sharing your lovely memories of modeling. That was a glorious time and I appreciate hearing your stories. I hope everyone stays safe!
I love how natural this interview is, no interruptions, Naomi really listens to the person she is interviewing. I think that holds a great impression especially for a first time show like this.
I think she might be more focused on family now probably, Naomi is a timeless vampire because of Melanin lol, I'm almost thirty and people still think I'm a high schooler.
I can listen to Naomi all day! The interesting stories about her life and experiences in the modelling world, plus the life lessons. I feel she has so much wisdom to share. If she'll ever writes a new book/autobiography, I will definitely buy it.
So cool the mentioning of Herb Ritts! He was always my favorite from back in the day! This series is very cool! I like what you said about the difference in the air. Like the earth needed a rest. I feel and see that too. Like all the factories that shut down and all the folks staying at home, the difference in the air is noticeable. At least, I think so. Great on ya, Naomi! Loving it!
I so loved, loved, loved this video! I truly enjoy listening to the supermodels of my generation. They really were so very fortunate to be models at that specific time in the industry. The stories are absolutely fascinating and endless.
I Loved this MiMi (Naomi) just Loved this! I am from DeKalb,IL. too and me and my mother met Cindy a long time ago at the grocery store in DeKalb,IL when she was at Eagles Grocery store! Oh my gosh! You and Cindy and Linda are my favorite! Favorites! I am in my element right now ok! I am loving this! Thank you Naomi. God bless you☀🌺🌺🌺🌹🍲🍲🎉🎼
@Summers Journey thank you I am trying to wear sunscreen daily and reapply often but sometimes I forget. I can definitely see sun damage all over my body and face I should have been more careful but I didnt realize I would go down like this lol.
It was such a privilege and a fortunate time to meet and work with both of you in NYC. I got to hold your hands and get to know you intimately as your manicurist on many of those shoots you discuss here. Those were great days, witnessing in real-time the skyrocketing of our careers. Much Love to you Cindy and Naomi. Love, Scott Hill
THANK YOU for including us in on a conversation like this. NO ONE in your business does or has ever done this. SUCH a fan of your self discipline, passion and motivation! 🙏🏽
I would pay to see no filter with Tyra. Imagine Naomi giving blank death stares in complete silence and Tyra curling into a little ball crying and blaming Naomi for everything . Fabulous!
bw2082 Isn’t there already one like this? Naomi invited to Tyra’s show and Tyra acting completely pathetic. I never watch Tyra’s show or really followed her & that exhibit sealed up the reason. Tyra Proved to be so emotionally immature, I don’t think Naomi would stoop. Or maybe you are being facetious & I missed it LOL
Rin Martell trash ??? Naomi is the biggest bitch around , she’s disrespectful, mean and trashy. What you talking about ? Queen ? Or what. The bitch Queen .
Ok, 15 min into this and I have found this is the most beautiful inside and out of you two that I have ever seen in a interview. You're both so chill, casual yet still incredibly professional. I've followed the originals since I was 12, when I began modeling and still at 41 yo. You ladies and the other several always helped me to be a classy, polite and a gentleman at shots - to meeting new people for job assignments, and that's a big part of why I am still rebooked for jobs. I paused to write this because I am smiling remember the early 90s and reflecting on where I am from all that time since 90, and seeing you two right now bringing back memories of the era that was my youth and innocence. Just wanted to say Thank you Naomi and Cindy, you made my mind have a time to think and reflect on the past great memories, in a time now where it's unsettling day to day at this time. Stay well, stay safe ( I know Naomi is taking at least one or two doses of supplements since I started writingthis... lol), easily done for you ladies- and stay beautiful inside and out. ✌😉
What two beautiful, strong people I love and look up to! Thanks Naomi for this incredible talk show. Can't wait to see what's up next 🤗 ☺️😊Stay healthy and stay Safe everyone 🙏
It's so wonderful to see smart strong beautiful successful women celebrate each other and share such genuine love and long lasting friendships. What a wonderful and inspiring treat. I love everything about this Thank you Naomi!
YES!! I saw her in a restaurant a few years ago and she was very sort of understated but it was a great experience just to be two feet away from someone I’ve been a fan of for so long. Christy would be a good next interview too!
I love both of their personalities. They are both so level headed, clear minded and so articulate. They know they are extremely privileged to have the careers and they are so professional about it. You both are so beautiful inside and out.
Naomi... thank you. This was truly legendary and life changing especially during this time. I’ve grown up just adoring everything you both have done since I was a kid and this is just beyond a treat sitting down and hearing these amazing stories so intimately. This changed my whole mood with everything difficult going on. So much love 💙.
I collected so many magazines when y’all were en vogue. I’m havin* a fab covid moment with you. So great. I’m so glad both of you are continuing to show what beauty really is. Love it. U rock. Thanks ladies. Stay well.
