I am a huge fan of all your work EJ! Thanks to your tutorials I have been able to introduce C4D into my business and I couldn't be happier! Much love and respect from the Kingdom of Bahrain!
YYYUUUSSSS!!! You're starting from the beginning of projects now days! Such a great help learning how to model as well as texture! Thanks a stack bruv!
Hey Guyz.... Instead of studio rig if you use Environment map inside material and put a low level of mix strength You will get a nice output but you have to play with reflection a bit and add sky and put a orange luminance with low brightness you will get that kind of look and you never get noise with default level of GI setting
hey EJ, you interface looks really cool, man. How did u get that, ive tried customizing mine and i end up ruining it, go a free layout file or a quick tip to that?
Thanks! Your alternatives are really easy, using Area Lights, using their Visible in Reflection option essentially turning them into softboxes, and just throwing HDRI's onto Sky objects. HDR Studio is a simple solution to cutting out a bunch of steps and adding some nice controls but it's not hard to add HDRI's to your scene via Skys
hey EJ, just finished this tutorial, thanks again. I'm finding that I'm a bit lost when you talk about textures and lighting, I just follow what you do but don't understand most of it. Is there any tutorials you can recommend to better understand textures and lighting? Also, how did you get HDR studi as a plugin? I have to access mine through content browser. Thanks again man, awesome video!!
Id just google some good beginner tutorials on materials and lighting techniques, there's a lot of great ones out there! I'd say lighting is the most important to check out, just traditional lighting techniques is a good place to start.
Could you please tell me where do i get the HDRi Studio Rig plugin? Not able to go further after you applied the plugin. Also is there any other way to achieve that shadow without the HDRi plugin?
Just curious as to how your computer renders so quickly? I own a mac pro 8 core 32gb ram (one of the trash cans) which I purchased new from apple about 6 months ago and it took me nearly 1 hour to render one frame, do you have specific settings?
Not really, i have the same exact computer as well, I do have those FirePro cards but don't know how much that helps. May want to adjust the quality of things like Area Shadows as well as reflection blurryness! Hope that helps!
You need to have an object to reflect onto the object so thats where adding an HDRI allows for you to have all those nice reflections. I would be sure to check out some HDRI tutorials as it's very easy to add HDRI's to your scene without the rig! Good luck!
I think there are a ton of those tutorials already out there but I do plan on making some UI tutorials in the future! If you have any requests let me know!
I was using R14, know I upgraded to R18 and I got those features, I kinda figured it was because of my cinema version, Thanks for answering either way!
eyedesyn Thank you for responding! I subscribe! Also did you learn on your own is is there a book or online course that's helpful besides your amazing video?!
Thanks for your sub! :) I learned on my own and through watching many many years of tutorials! Still learning! I'd check out lynda.com for a lot of comprehensive C4D basic training!
Search Google for "Free HDRI", download one, create a new Material, load up that HDR file in the Luminance channel, Create a Sky Object, apply that material to a Sky Object, voila!
A $129 product that is absolutely not required to follow this tutorial. You want an HDRI environment? Take 2 steps...find HDRI (tons of free ones on the internet) and then import it to a material, apply material to a Sky Object. Not so hard, right?
Looks perfectly fine on my end, full screen and at 1080p! Text is sharp and readable. You should check your settings as it seems like it's an issue on your end. :/
No one else has commented about the image quality and here's a screen grab. www.dropbox.com/s/hsvxtnxcul7f2dw/Screen%20Shot%202016-06-17%20at%2012.26.13%20PM.png?dl=0
Thanks for the great tutorial EJ. Any chance you can make a video to share your tips on creating this one: dribbble.com/shots/2695511-Fung-Shui ? I'll be much appreciated. If you don't have time for tutorial pls just leave the comment. Thank you :)
+Anh Nguyễn Thanks! Really it was all modeling and then used a simple Mograph Plain Effector to animate the room objects. Maybe I'll do a breakdown at some point!
Thanks EJ. I was trying to recreate your isometric room cube but couldn't recreate the color and lighting anywhere close to your work. You did very good job on that one :)
