I've been watching videos about grading for a couple days and this one is by far the easiest as far as an intro into grading. Thanks for not making it too complicated! Your stuff is great.

I love watching other editors workflows when it comes to colour! You seem to approach it in a similar way that I do. Only difference is I like to work over multiple adjustment layers and have the skin separated to a layer of its own so I can grade it by itself. That way it helps to take out any colour casts you may get from the shadows or midtones. Out of curiosity, what kind of picture profiles do you typically shoot with? A pretty flat one I'm guessing? - By the way I love your new set up. It looks super good!
@DannyGevirtz

Thanks man! Yeah its different for everyone! Wouldn't be a bad idea to do what you do. I usually shoot RAW if the camera allows for it.

Aw dude my envy of you for having the option of RAW! Haha! Though I can't complain. I went for a Sony a7iii which has an awesome picture profile that pretty much works like RAW. Anyways keep this quality content up dude! You're gonna grow a successful channel I can just feel it

Just started binge watching your videos and you are my favorite Cinematic RU-vidr already. Is there a specific way you set up your camera for exposure? Zebras? Waveform? Do you use a light meter or color chart? Im wondering if i need something else for my A7III

Hey Danny, not sure if you're still doing this but have you thrown your favorite LUT into Premiere so that it appears from the drop down menu instead? It'll save you some time in having to go through finder windows!

Awesome work man and great job demonstrating your process. One question! Do you apply one LUT for the entire project or does it vary for different scenes, sequences, etc?

You have demystified the raw c200 grading! The image you got looked great and didn't seem to take a ton of work. Did you just import the raw light file start into premiere? How is play back when you are editing?
@DannyGevirtz
@DannyGevirtz 6 лет назад
Hahaha. Its just like any other raw codec at the end of the day! Yep imported the raw file right into premiere. I have a fully loaded iMac so its pretty smooth. On my laptop its a mess. youre probably going to want to either edit in proxies or at a lower quality if you have a slow computer.

I think if you move your key light to about 11 or 10 o'clock it'll bring back some of those shadows and bring some depth to your videos! Otherwise, great video/tutorial!

Hello Danny! Love your works!! so talented! What picture profile do you use for the canon1DXMARK2? thanks :)
@MTCMVMT
@MTCMVMT 6 лет назад
Then do you color grade/adjust every clip individually before slapping on the LUT? Or do you add and adjustment layer and apply the color grading on that and just apply it across the timeline to all of your clips?
@DannyGevirtz
@DannyGevirtz 6 лет назад
Hey man! It depends. In a perfect world you probably want to color grade each clip uniquely, but in instances where everything is pretty similar between clips I usually just drag the adjustment layer over them.

Danny Gevirtz Very true! Your work is very inspiring man, keep it up! These videos are helping out a lot with my videos. Especially the video of your setup! I’ve been trying to come up with a setup that works for the type of videos that I make. So I’ve been thinking about backdrop vs. shallow depth look (like yours!) and budget lighting, all that good stuff. So these videos are definitely a gem! 👌🏼👌🏼

Hi danny, where can i get your lut? & is it Imac 2017 capable enough to edit c200 raw?
@DannyGevirtz
@DannyGevirtz 6 лет назад
Hey! Lutify.me Tropic Colour has good stuff too. And yep as long as you have enough RAM to process everything. If your mac is basic you might want to lower the playback quality.

what gamma curve are you using? Clog2 Clog3? regular clog???
@DannyGevirtz

Clog 2 when Im editing RAW. Gives me the most flexibility! Its hard to grade though. youll end up with noise if you do it wrong.

Hey dude, subbed to your channel, love your work and I’m a fellow c200 shooter. What do you do about premiere on the Mac desaturating your videos when exporting? Do you just compensate for it on the adjustment layer? It drives me crazy. Also what is your favorite export settings?
@DannyGevirtz
@DannyGevirtz 5 лет назад
Hey man! Thank you! Its an early bug in 2019 premiere. I think this is what youre referring to. try updating premiere or dont check the two render/ export at maximum quality boxes before you export.
@alexpressplay
@alexpressplay 5 лет назад
Danny Gevirtz it has to do with premiere not being color managed like AE or Photoshop, it’s because of the iMac P3 display same on MacBook Pros, export a short clip, double click and open it on QT, and drag it next to your program monitor in premiere, you’ll see they won’t be the same.
@ken7el
