baltimore swagga , hey, you can get a 50mm Canon Prime lens for around $100, but it's cheaply made & very noisy. The best way to go is Vintage Lenses. You can get them Very cheap on eBay & they are just as good if not better than the expensive lenses out there. You will need adapters for certain lenses from r them to fit your camera ( only about $15 on Amazon ) One I highly suggest is the 58mm Helios Lens, it's a f1.4 which mean you can shoot in low light, it's very cheap & a Very good lens. Vintage Lenses are all manual focus lenses but that is better for video anyway, the lenses with motors in them make noise & don't do a good job at focusing from one point to another, and there are Many of these Vintage Lenses that are great for Photo & Cinema at prices anyone can afford $100 & less while the L-Series Glass from Canon will cost from $1000 to over $2000 & up. All you need is to practice shooting in manual focus. Another tip is Magic Lantern, look it up on RU-vid,, it is Amazing !! It's like having a Menu that the most expensive cameras don't have, HIGHLY SUGGEST IT !! Hope this helped some, let me know if you have any questions.
@Baltimoreswagga
@Baltimoreswagga 7 лет назад
John Sides I honor ur info and wish more people in the comments help like you do, question ? where do I buy the lantern cause I checked every store where I live , how much does it cost , and how would I know how to install it the proper way without damaging anything , and if I get lantern do I need lens, hope all answers get answerd.

This guy understands film. The "Film Look" so many aspiring filmmakers strive for is a myth. It's not about a cool color grade with lots of blues in the shadows, a really strong vignette or depth of field. It's all about the use of the visual medium.

I have been a Canon shooter for over 30 years. I recently sold all of my Canon EOS equipment and moved to Sony. I am glad that I make the move and have been very happy with the results that I have been getting. I just shot a Feature film with a used $200 NEX5r and it looks great. Spend as little on the camera as possible. It is the lighting and the lens that makes the most difference. the best camera today will be worthless in a short time but good glass is forever. For example the Trailer and the shot of the director with the lights behind him were both shot on the NEX 5r. Check them out on our Kickstarter page. page www.kickstarter.com/projects/460653484/the-tempter-if-devil-knocks-at-your-door-do-you-an?ref=nav_search

The real question is: WAS that curtain really blue?😂 As RU-vidr, I love this, you are a wealth of knowledge.

Wondering how you achieve the handwritten font. Do you write it yourself or is it an actual font? Love it.

I like it, it gives me a lot of strength knowing that i don't need a better camera, and the difference in quality is a fraction worse.
@MultiWilliam15
@MultiWilliam15 8 лет назад
I honestly think he shouldn't. The T3i is not that obsolete, and it gives his low-budget fans some hope that new technology doesn't necessarily make a film better.
@Maffoo

1:35 - you're clearly English, why have you spelt colour like an American??
@Maffoo
@Maffoo 7 лет назад
And again, calling it the T3i, which is surely the American name?
@Maffoo
@Maffoo 7 лет назад
lmfao indeed, Larry. Because it really grinds my gears when British RU-vidrs use Americanisms. He may as well just go the whole hog and put on a New Jersey accent whilst he's at it...
@Antiganos
@Antiganos 6 лет назад
maybe it's because most of his audience is American and most of the world calls the Rebel T3i a T3i. I know, I know, just think about it tough.
