This is not Cinema this is beyond every imagination. Thsi black and white style one of the best things I saw in cinematography in many years. Not enough words I can say to describe how much work Steven and his collaborators done. This is what Cinema can teach to the young and future generations to be better people. Best Filippo

Please Janusz and Steven: make a book about how you did Schindlers List. This is the best film ever made. One needs to share this experience.

This is the most immaculately created film in cinematic history. A true work of art with a genus of a director in Spielberg. John Williams with an incredibly moving score that transcends the film to unprecedented heights. The acting is incredible with Neeson and Fiennes, who were indisputably robbed of an Academy Award for their performances. The art of filmmaking is a lost one in today's time, so it was incredibly satisfying to watch this video.

I had the chance to meet Januz in Havana in 2002 and it was one of the greates moments of my life. He's so humble and watching him be moved by what he has done like he does in this video shows his humanity. On of the greatest talents of flm history.

As truly a special film as it is, I have only been able to watch it once, and that was in the theatre when it first came out.

And how he became one of the closest collaborators of Spielberg along John Williams and Michael Kahn

Williams told Spielberg "You need a better composer than I am for this film." Spielberg responded, "I know. But they're all dead!" Probably every one engaged was in a similar situation, so every one had to do the impossible. One of the best cinematography jobs ever, for sure the best one in several decades. This result is just something simply impossible to obtain. All the crew performed beyond suposed human limits. Hey, this is not a bare masterpiece, it's pure art with the mission to make people be a bit better. A crucial lesson is told. It is a true document about human nature, but it also has a mission. The plus-x/double-x greatness and footprint from avoiding cranes/steadycams were only tools, in the same way a hammer is the tool to make an sculpture, but later you have to take that hammer and to hit the boulder. How subjects are approached and how light is used to portray the sould inside characters... this is atonishing... well, not easy to tell how such a deal of excellence was accumulated. Probably only gathering such an script, such a director, such actors, such a music composer and such a cinematographer everyone in the team could push the others to perform beyond their own limits, just to succeed in that impossible mission. So such a throughput may not be reached in many years to come... After some three decades it's easier to judge the thing: this is not a bare masterpiece. Yes, an unavoidable key reference for every future cinematographer, but it goes much beyond that. Janusz, thanks for that job.

Amazing piece of work. Bravo to all involved. I loved it when i first watched it in a cinema on it's release. Everyone with a conscience should watch this film at least once in their life. History after all has a habit of repeating itself.

Kaminski was the ideal cinematographer for Schindler's List. This scene was filmed before all the technology made films "fake."
