my own pet peeve, having done a lot of audio in churches ..... seminaries need to teach pastors how to use microphones!

Familiarity with gear and how things work outside of the actor bubble can be helpful for comfort level and safety. Networking. The more you know, the better. Similarly, crew could take acting classes😀
