"Gravity" brought me here. My only regret is that it took me 8 years to finally see this movie & realize how many geniuses were involved, between the cinematography, the sound mixing/editing, the visual effects & the acting. I can truly see why it did so well at the box office & cleaned up the way it did at the 86th Academy Awards. Just amazing & studying people like this is so inspiring for anyone who has ANY interest whatsoever in audio/visual work.

Wanted to comment on your last observation: Chivo's photography does immerse you deeply into the movie, the viewer cannot criticize it, I agree. But it goes another way, his work is so beautiful and outstanding, I find myself analyzing it when watching the movie, not criticizing but trying to understand how this fluidity and beauty are possible. I still don't fully understand what he constructed for that car scene in the Children of Man...

I'm a big Lubezki fan and I loved the video. But I think you could've talked about another aspect of his work. Despite having a naturalistic style as his signature, he sometimes breaks this aesthetic in favor of the needs of the project, like for example "A Series of Unfortunate Events", "A Little Princess" and "The Cat in the Hat". Although he also used diffused lighting and wide-angle lenses, he chose a more fanciful style for these films
