Just as Maurizio Kagel was the inventor of "Théâtre musical", Tristan Patrice Challulau is the inventor of "Dansé musical", in which the musician-performer fully integrates the choreography with the sound projection of the music.
Commenting on the piece we are about to hear, Tristan Patrice Challulau writes: "Cinq couleurs is a piece of music that borders on musical theater and dansé musical. The singer can murmur to create a bruitist layer of sound. The pianists may be searching for their place on the instrument. The clarinetists are three and yet one. The violin is bound up with the vocals, but sometimes manages to become independent. The vocalist is bound to the violin, but sometimes frees himself. The flautist is alone, but very sociable, moving from one group to another. In fact, everyone is very sociable: latecomers are not punished, and perhaps the guests leave, leaving the hosts alone... that's normal life... As it's normal life, there can be a lot of hullabaloo when everyone's together, there can be some who separate from the group to do what they have to do, there can be times when some talk more than others, there can be other times when some keep quiet to listen... or keep quiet so they can be even better afterwards, in short, as I was saying: it's normal life...
Is this normal music?
The event was co-organised by The Ivry-sur-Seine Municipal Music School (Ecole de musique et de danse) and MusEA a non profit organisation for amateur chamber music players (Musique, Espaces des Amateurs).
