On October 11, RISE INDY joined Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, members of the City-County Council, and leaders from Indianapolis Public Schools, MSD Warren Township and the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis, to launch the Circle City Readers program, a local high-dosage early literacy tutoring effort.
Circle City Readers, a partnership between RISE INDY and the City of Indianapolis, will serve more than 1,000 students, including those in Indianapolis Public Schools, public charter schools, and MSD Warren Township in grades K-3. Circle City Readers tutors will rely on evidence-based reading strategies, which will complement the work already happening in the city’s public schools to ensure students have the support they need to further their foundational reading skills.
