I was exactly thinking of doing this :) Great that it works! Two things that would be great though: - choosing which tracks are used for resampling to overdub without recording the drums - the master compressor and reverb/delay also applying to the inputs, this would make things really really nice!

Awesome stream, already have my unit preordered. I'm just curious what the benefit to having a stereo input is, when samples are summed to mono? I understand the stereo outs since the unit has panning built in.

Stereo input is helpful if you're sampling something that has information panned hard left or right. Without it you might find yourself in a situation where you weren't getting all of the audio information in what you're sampling.

Yo calc if u read this could u help me with an issue iv noticed on alot of videos on RU-vid other peoples macro knob 8 is lit up on sample rec mode and mine is not iv read it can be used as the input levels to add digital gain to the sample but i can figure out how to do it samples dont seem to be loud enough iv figured there louder when resample is of and have the _12 db off but the input levels are scrambling my brain....

When using Components to upload samples, do they automatically go into the SD? If so, how would you keep uploaded samples if you don’t have a big enough sd to fill everything up?

Components can be used to manage your sample library. You don't have to put everything that's in Components onto the SD card. Hope this helps.

It is possible, but because the input on Circuit is a line input, you will need to find a way to boost the level of the signal. You can either take the audio out of a mixer, interface or anything that can guitar signal up to line level.

Hey there, I got the circuit rhythm a couple of months ago but wasnt able to do anything with it because of work. now that i have some free time i'm able to mess around a little with this piece of gear. for now I just want to use this for triggering party noise samples. say i load up 8 party noise samples into the rhythm and i take it to a gig will it let me trigger 2 samples at same time?

Absolutely. You can certainly trigger 2 samples at once. You can actually play samples from all 8 tracks, simultaneously. As you may know, Circuit Rhythm comes pre-loaded with loads of samples and you can also use Components you load your own samples. John // Novation UK 🇬🇧

@@NovationTV my imported samples are too low where I have to turn up the rhythm volume all the way up just hear the samples im using. I imported 8 samples into the rhythm. Out of 8 only one sample sounded louder. I want bring the rhythm to my gig to trigger party noise samples with. I have the rhythm connected to the house mixer to an available channel line and I sometimes have to turn up the main house mixers main volume, but I dont want to keep doing that while im djing.

Absolutely! Circuit Rhythm features 8 independent monophonic sequencer tracks. Each track can be set to transmit on MIDI channels 1 to 15.

To clarify my question - I meant can you sample stuff live into the rhythm and then save them to a pack on the SD card without having to open components and transfer the current session to the card? Essentially, can I start with a blank set of banks in the SD card and sample into all of them without ever plugging it into the computer?

Yeah Im pretty sure you can.... otherwise its not a sampler...just a player....didnt Calc play something in and then it was on a pad...pretty sure although cider had been drunk🤣

@@InkyDaCaT yeah, in just not clear on what the difference between an SD card pack is and the live session loaded into the circuit hardware itself is. If that makes sense.

@@squoblat ok so sample pack is what samples are on the circuit pack....but the sd card holds different packs so you can change all the samples...but this takes a little time....but yes now I think of it good question, does it save the sample with the pack on sd card or do you lose sample ...if it doesnt surely they need to update that ..be stupid?? You dont want to have to open computer evertime you made a sample and want to change the sample pack....be a nighmare??!

Hi there! The Packs feature lets you access, create, and save thousands of Projects, synth patches, and samples onto the SD card. Hope this answers your question.

@@NovationTV I think the question Koss is asking is...if you sample directly into Rhythm and save it ....if you change packs without the computer is that sample saved to sd card or do you need to save it via computer?

What is the process of exporting my beats so that I can import to a daw for polish?

You can either export your resample recordings in Components, or connect to an audio interface to record the output from Rhythm to create stems for finishing in a DAW.

How do I delete packs? Components has no option to do this

There isn't a dedicated Delete option but that can effectively be achieved by overwriting the unwanted Pack with a new Pack in its place using Components.

I HOPE POLYPHONY GETS PUT INTO AN UPDATE ,even drummers get polyphony in their rhythms , let alone the sampling head , who was to play chords with movement and variation and life....

Circuit Rhythm features 8 monophonic sample tracks, so you can play up to 8 samples simultaneously. Complex drum sequences are certainly possible. As the tracks are mono, you can't play chords on the same track using a single sample but that can be achieved using multiple tracks. The architecture of the tracks can't be altered via firmware.
