[Circus Freak] ATLA Song Animatic 

( Some spoilers from the comic about Ty Lee after the war) She does for awhile until she realizes that all the Kyoshi warriors look the same( with the makeup, headdress, and wardrobe as well as fighting skills) and that gives her ptsd over her old trauma of not having an identity of of her sisters. So Ty Lee leaves the group for a time and gets herself in trouble with a bunch of miscreants and her sisters save her that join the same circus she went to get away from them. She was happy to see them but she felt like when they join the circus that took away her originality of her own unique individual personality. Which later her sisters teach is not true, that they are all different and sometimes annoy each other, but that have their own feelings and uniqueness that gives them their own identity. And after she learns that lesson she is able to be happy with her sister and visit them from time to time and them her with out the anguish she had in her heart. And rejoin the Kyoshi Warriors and can now see that they to do not fight the same or look the same. Even the makeup is done different for some. She just never really took the time to look because of her previous bias. And now she more happy being herself, no longer having to carry that heavy burden she once’s had that kept her from truly being happy deep inside.

The part when she says "I have to spend my whole life with the name that was given but could call mine" remaid of Azula so much, she also couldn't say it was her name becouse of her grandfather who was the greatest firebender at that time

But did she figure out who she was? She joined the Kyoshi warriors at the end of avatar, so even tho she became good, she fell in line to be like the warriors, instead of like her sisters, it’s not the same, but she claims she wanted to Be a circus freak for her individuality her then chose to be the same as the Kyoshi warriors
