Cisco Sal, Quick question for you. So I currently have a cisco 8841 in my home lab network that isn’t setuped due to the fact I do not have a router that is compatible with it. I currently have a Cisco UC520 running 7941s, 7940s, 7942s, 7961s, and 7965s. I was wondering if you had any cheap cisco routers in mind that has the GUI like CUCM, has slots where I can put fxo/fxs cards, and if so, has vm. Thanks!
I’m not sure what cheap means to you. You might be better off using the phone on webex calling. That’s going to be much lower cost then buying hardware and trying to run cucm on a vm inside the router.
None of the gear from eBay is supported. I would also watch out. You have no way of verifying if it’s legit Cisco gear or not. The other worry these days is who knows where it came from and what spyware/malware/backdoor could be installed on it. If this is for a business i would be extremely cautious.
+Kevin Pierce wifi works good. I would just make sure you have a good wireless deployment. If you are planning on having a lot of these you may have to increase your AP density.
I see this video is 6 years old , what’s the newest model ? Would these models be considered too old ? I am wanting to be able to video call from my cellphone wether by FaceTime or some other video calling . Please help !?
You can not. Have you checked out webex? You can join a webex meeting from it and the webex app will control it. So you click on someone when your not in a meeting and the phone will go off hook and place a call out to them.
@@CiscoSal thank you for clarifying... It might be easier if I just stick to a camera over my computer monitor...we're looking at a new phone system via Nextiva...they are offering the Cisco 8865 phone which looks really nice...
No it would be for only phones on your phone system that had video. The only other thing you can do is join s webex but you need to have webex calling to do that not nextiva.
Hey Sal, is the recent calls feature at 7:30 exclusive to the 8845/8865 series? ...or is the feature available on the 8861? Also what service do you like/recommend for these phones?
If ooma supports 3rd party SIP devices then yes. You will need to purchase a MPP (Multi Platform Phone). The SKU's are CP-8865-3PCC-K9= and CP-8845-3PCC-K9= The 3PCC in the SKU means the phone is for 3rd party call control aka MPP (Multi Platform Phone).
Also... Just a quick look at their website. Here are the phones they say they support. I would ask them about more advanced phones then what they have listed. These phones are very basic. What IP phones are compatible with Ooma Office? The following IP phones can be used with Ooma Office and are currently available for purchase: Yealink T21P E2 Cisco SPA 303 Cisco SPA 504G
