Luckily for me there isn’t a frozen tundra season in Miami, Florida. But, good to know if I get dropped off in the arctic definitely don’t bring a citadel boss 😂😂
I don't switch out the gas block. I will only switch it out for 1600fps slugs, I usually shoot federal 00 buck 1300fps and I use the light gas block that it usually has in it. I keep mine for home defense loaded with federal 00 buck 1300 fps and that is just fine for that in my opinion. I've had the failure to eject shells a couple times when I shot with the 1600 fps because I didn't switch out the gas block at range but only a couple times. Just make sure you run high brass ammo above 1300 fps and you will have no issues, maybe 1 or 2 but rarely. Clean it out too when you get it, they ship them with grease everywhere, there easy to field strip. Let me know if you need any info, I've had mine for a couple years, and I love it. It's unique, and if a home invasion happened and I came out with this to a person breaking into my property he would probably shit himself before I even pulled the trigger 😂
Oh and I got 2 of the 10 round mags from Citadel and that's what I use, and they work great. I haven't even shot outta the 2 5 rounders yet lol. There still in my bag 😅
@@Jbird18 Wow Boss 30, In the states Citadel calls it Boss 25, so you must be abroad. But Yes, Federal is expensive. I have to go to Bass Pro cause I'm right by Chicago and barely any Gun and Ammo stores, it's almost like 10 bucks for a box of 5 shells. It's getting insane. I was gonna go to a gun show in Indiana and load up on ammo where it's cheaper. It's not like it used to be when you could go to Walmart and buy a ton of shells, any type of ammo, and not walk away cursing. I got a few guns, and thats cause Ammo got so expensive. I've keep the AR, my 2 9mms, a Desert Eagle that my father gifted me, and this shotgun. So I got basically all bases covered 😆, but I only go out and shoot my Sig P320 cause 9mm ammo is still halfway cheap. Like I said I just keep the Shotgun by me for home defense, I can't afford to go to the range with it either lol. Strange times we are in now, inflation and the economy, wars going on everywhere. I would advise you to stock up on Ammo when you can also. But go to gun shows or do your research online to find deals. Because besides 50 cal bullets, shotgun buck and slug shells are expensive, too expensive now. Godd luck bro ✌
I broke mine in with Rio 9P and 9 shot 1360 recently. Seven magazines of 5 and 10. Early FTEs but shortly afterwards, running smooth after 114 rounds. Im a happy camper.
Great video I don't know if u know this I'm going to make a video explaining this one day but the front barel shroud tells you the edtion of the boss 25 the 1st edtion had 2 screws holding the shroud on the 2nd edtion has only one screw on top holding the barrel shroud aka forearm grip on. Which alot of complaints came from the 1st edtion with low brass and under 1300fps shells I started shooting mine with #7 shots from wally world and never had any issues maybe 1 or 2 but no serious jambs of ftf issues. I think that the 2nd edtion of the boss 25 had upgrades made to it. I have compared both edtions, and there are a few different changes..
Fun shotgun for plinking. I run the Walmart AA 1300fps 2¾ all day no issues. It easier to remove the 2 C clips if you hold the shotgun vertically with the bolt lock back with your hands around the piston nut almost unscrewed so the C clips don't fall out. They are secured in your hand. Ima give the 1250 a try now that I see you had some luck.. thanks for the vid🤙
I did the same thing with the clips when I took mine apart to clean/lube it per the break in procedure. I was testing the action with dummy rounds and knew it looked funky with how much brass was showing on the dummy shell. I figured it was because the spring was bound so I took it apart gain, but after your video I realize I probably did the exact same thing with the clip and put it back together correctly the second time. Haven't shot it yet nbut have some 1350 FPS rounds to test (not high brass).
do you use low brass and high brass shells with equal results? My Boss 25 on its first day out didn't cycle 4 (2 00 buck and 2 slug) of the 5 brands i tried - they were all low brass. it only cycled the black aces high brass 00 buck. thoughts??
Not sure, but all I have really used is low brass shells, and I have not ran any slugs yet. The manufacturer only "recommends" high brass, and no slugs. However, I run low brass all the time. Anything under 1200 fps will not cycle good. And when running slugs or anything over 1500 fps you need to swap out the gas blocks.
@@avalanchereviews2352 hmmm.... maybe I'll give it another more thorough cleaning (thought I did a good job when I unboxed it) and try again. I still have some high brass 1400fps or so so will run a few of those then follow up with low brass to see if it gets "less finicky". Thanks for the feedback!
He tells us what ammo they recommend then proceeds to show us he is using the non recommended ammo he is about to use. I love these videos. Then he will say it’s the weather or like other videos I have seen, they act like the gun sucks and say they are going to sell it
@@avalanchereviews2352 Okay, thank you.I was just wondering because it will not Eject The used casing. I didn't know if that had anything to do with it or not.
There is also a break-in period of around 200 rounds. During break-in you can get some fail to eject. And if you use anything under 1200 fps loads, you will also get some fail to eject.
