Ken Griffin complains that public orders would allow all market makers to front-run an order. Wouldn't that remove the arbitrage opportunity for an individual market maker that solely has to fulfill an order? Would they not all compete for the arbitrage and therefore squash the arbitrage?

It's just algos responding to the movements more or less.

His responds to AI is exactly how I'm investing right now. The companies that will benefit the most from AI are, to my mind, the normal S&P500 and MSCI World index companies. Because they will benefit from implementing these technologies to aggressively cut down costs, increase productivity, and thus increase margins. Now, I'm not sure still if AI will increase or decrease the entry barrier for particular industries, but it will have an effect on entry barriers. Maybe start-ups will become more disruptive or maybe the technological advantage will significantly decrease price points to a point where entering a market can only be done with long-term losses. For sure is that companies who don't move on this topic will be out of business rather sooner than later.

To be fair to his point, i do miss slamming a phone down hard in the good old days.

I might know what people have done to make companies stay private for longer: lots of companies, particularly green & tech companies, have gone to zero, or been acquired for less than I paid. How many times can companies like DIDI, Cannon, ADR, & Proterra take our money & run, saying they got what they wanted (our money), & they don't really care if they're delisted? If the SEC would somehow make some of these companies accountable ( & some stock advisors, as well), maybe the NYSE wouldn't be getting such a scheister bad name, & the private companies might see being on the NYSE as more prestigious, an honor.
