As father myself and a airplane enthusiasts, this video was absolutely priceless!! What an incredible Dad, so much love for his daughter. Instead of giving her a tablet and ignoring her, he finds a great opportunity to bond, teach and hopefully inspire his daughter to follow in his footsteps!! 💯% ❤ this video!!!
Well done, Capt! As a dad/pilot with three kids I can totally relate to this video. Two of mine fall asleep before we contact departure, one is a sponge for every second of the expedition. I love how you engage her, educate her and let her be a part of the process. Well done!!
I have to tell you, I have never seen a more Beautiful Father/ Daughter video!! You are truly a Wonderful Father and Mentor!! May God Always Protect you and your Precious Family!! Thanks again, Vic Chiapetta!!
I know Lindsey is learning when she did the ahem for the after landing checklist. A pilot doesn't do that but Lindsey just heard you say "After Landing Checklist please Lindsey" and cleared her throat to start. Love it. My first thoughts were "Ryan brings daughter along to chill and look out window" After:" Ryan teaches Lindsey how to do things and now knows how to help a pilot" This was so cool to see Ryan. Your daughter seems like a natural
This was such a great video! She is trying so hard and doing so good! Pilot in the making for sure. In hard times right now and this was so uplifting for me. Thank you so much!
One of the greatest parts of single pilot certification is the opportunity to take someone up into the SIC seat for a chance to learn what it takes to command this craft! Love it. CJ’s are so much fun and proven safe. Hard to beat.
Wow! Thank you very much for the comment! Your videos are great. Before I became a professional pilot, I was a firefighter and only flying for fun. I watched your videos all the time to help stay current and in the right mindset. In fact, I recently did a podcast with a local media company where I talked about how your videos saved my life once. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g46OEGxBcmI.html. It starts roughly around the 30 minute mark.
One of the most adorable videos. I was lucky enough to do something similar with my 9 year old daughter when I obtained my single pilot rating on the Citation II some 20 years ago. Now she is a senior first officer on the B787 with British Airways. Brilliant and inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing Ryan! 😊
This just warmed my heart. I'm a father of a 7yo and i fly this plane on sim almost every day and she joins me sometimes. This video made me hope that one day i can take my lil girl up in the real skies in a cockpit. Amazing videos 🙏
Thank you very much! I completely agree, I am very fortunate to be able to share these times with my girls. They both love to fly and ask all the time to come along!
She says , That was a great flight home, then says, Better than the flight there. Such true honesty, so DAD, you’re making the airline pilots look bad with your smooth flying skills. Your daughter is never going to forget these moments-memories to share for life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Captain Daddy!! Great job Lindsay! 👏👏 My father would not have been so patient if that was me at 7 but he still took me sailing with him, even after school sometimes as we lived on an island. We would sail to a smaller island, anchor off n take a swim then sail back to the main island. Not sure if I always did my homework though. Haha!😁❤️❤️❤️
This would have to be one of my all-time favourite vids. It reminds me of when my beautiful daughter was 7 years old - so cute. If having a daughter wasn't already very rewarding, sharing the love of aviation and flying like this with her is truly making precious memories. I hope she continues to share this passion and you make many more. Thank you for making my day and sharing this video.
That’s great! You’re going to have a good time. I don’t work for Foreflight. They provide these call signs to customers as a way of blocking your tail number. It’s just an alternative to a “dotcom” call sign.
Ryan, what a great example you are setting for Lindsay as a father and pilot. She is reading so well and it’s obvious that she is interested in flying. You are creating a great future pilot! You gave her enough responsibilities on that short flight and she is gaining confidence in some little things like the checklist. I have taken many, many people up in airplanes over the last 35 years and I’ve done exactly what you did with Lindsay. Letting her fly a little bit and be in the cockpit can spark a passion that can last a lifetime. I am willing to bet right now that she will be a pilot in 9-10 more years. Start socking the money away if you haven’t already done so, her schooling will be expensive. Tell Lindsay that all who are watching this video are very proud of her and her flying skills.
It was great to meet you a couple weeks ago. I’m the retired fireman turned 135 pilot that stopped you in the FBO in Little Rock to get a selfie. Take care. Great job on the videos.
That video is just too precious! Our family always did things together such as boating and woodworking teaching them as we went. I'm a little older now, expecting a great grandchild early next year. I still have fond memories of everything we did together and our kids (two boys & a girl) still remember it as well. You are forming memories that will last both of you for a lifetime and bring you closer together as a family. Keep it up! Great video!
I'm a non-pilot and hadn't heard of ForeFlight before. Interesting product. I could see the benefit for privacy, or if you own multiple planes. Helpful to make sure you're always using the right call sign.
I chuckled at the “autopilot explanation”as I’ve had to explain this to so many novices through the years. We don’t just push a button and sit back and work a crossword puzzle like people think. The automation works because of our (sometimes constant) input. What a charming video!
This was awesome! You should be extremely proud of yourself. You are a living example of what a father should be. You will forever be your daughters hero. I aspire to be this for my son. Thanks for sharing!
Great video, any kid's dream flying planes...She's very funny and we can see she's interested in aviation...a future pilot in the making...good job...and you sir, a hell of a father, very patient and proud of your daughter, nice to see....I can also see you have a few thousand hours under you belt...very smooth and methodical, despite having a kid in your ears during the flight. nice post overall.
This made my day! A lil extra mental workload for dad but sooo worth it! Good reminder that young ones take fire tests literal. She’s a rockstar! She’s gonna be a even more awesome pilot when she grows up. Loved the video!😊
My son is just starting his career with 600 hours, but I would imagine him in the near future having a flight like this with his daughter. Which he has not had yet or has found his life mate but a father can dream. Thanks for including Lindsay. I don't use the word Precious often, but that was.
Always enjoy your videos Ryan. Glad to see you back!!! Love watching your interaction with your family. Such a beautiful family that you have been blessed with! Safe flying!
IT is great to see some seriousfather daughter time. Even at her young age she appears to an interest in flying. Congrats to you and her. I hope she flies with you more.
Very awesome. I just passed my private pilot check ride 2 weeks ago, I was able to take my little girl up for the first time a few days ago. It was amazing to have her in the right seat up front with me. Memories that she & I will have forever, just like you and your daughter. Awesome video. Just subbed.
Congrats! That is such a great treat to take family up for the first time! I still remember at 17 years old taking my Mom and Dad for the first time on my own!
Nothing wrong with that! We started flying together back when I could only fly Cherokees. Now when I ask if they want to come flying, before they answer they ask if we are flying in a jet or not! 😂
Flying with my dad was very memorable. I'm in my 60's and dad flew air ambulance. Twin turbo prop king air, baron and Navajo. Fun times, and i have 800 hours (sim ha ha)
Great content. Wonderful that you are sharing the joy of flying with your daughter. Aside re flight safety: Personally I would be inclined to provide my daughter with her music and safe access to her backpack *first* such that she is immediately put at ease, occupied, with inclination to ask for them now removed. This would also free me to conduct my preflight without (or at least with one less source of) distraction🤔💭
