LOL... My wife's an RN like yours and I'm a retired emergency responder. When you said you and your wife like to do things together, she shook her head no and that just cracked me up because that's EXACTLY what my wife would do or say!
That was fun....your wife is cool, and quite spikey. Love the relationship that you obviously have. Man she even called you 'HOT', so you are doing something right Ryan! Particularly loved the "I don't want to see the ice on the windscreen" sketch - very funny. Best wishes from the UK
I live in south Arkansas and have been watching your channel for a few years now. I really like your channel and I’m glad that you started posting again.
You've been a busy guy. I'm impressed. I did a little chopper time as a US Air Force Pararescueman (combat search and rescue medic) in Vietnam. I then worked as a C-5 and C-141 crew chief at Travis AFB in Northern, Ca. and retired in 2012. Now volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue program locally. Fun ! Enjoy the videos !
Dude, your story is insane! I don't think very many people would handle what you've done...I know I wouldn't. Bad timing, lack of funds, and not being great with making connections has me failing my aviation career, no matter how talented I may be. Business aviation is what I would have liked, but Each time I restart my flying I get grounded. 4 times I've had to quit flying, and now in my 40's I don't see myself flying again. Can't do it without money
In 2021, the Baptist chopper flew down to El Dorado to take my newborn daughter to the NICU at Baptist after aspirating a large amount of amniotic fluid. We really appreciated the Baptist flight medics - they were very professional and did a great job making my wife feel confident that our daughter was in good hands. It was tough watching our 6 hour old daughter fly away in the chopper but the Baptist crew was amazing. My daughter spent 10 days in the NICU and is now almost 3 years old :)
Great to hear that there was a happy outcome! Baptist MedFlight is the helicopter that I flew for. They are great people there, just like you experienced.
Pilot AND a tiller operator AND on a medical chopper! Dang we need to meet😊 OMG I need to wait till the end to comment. Lol you answered my question! How cool! Love the vids man! We come from very similar back grounds.
Thanks for submitting the question! I was actually assigned to the engine, so I didn’t tiller all the time. We would get moved over as needed when someone was off. Easily the best job on the department!
I used to fly Metroliners for Scheduled Skyways at FYV Drake Field Fayetteville AR back in 1979-80. I enjoyed living there. Great hearing about your background.
Dude, so cool! You have a great wife to do what she did to help you get there! Being in my early 60’s I am a little late but working the day job and doing CFI on the side. 1100 hours right now. Would love to do what you are doing. So frigging cool!
Dude that’s so insane! I’m a firefighter/paramedic literally looking at going the same path right now!! I’m praying through it right now but hopeful it works out!
Good luck to you! The firefighter schedule lends itself quite well to working towards a goal like this. No one wants to instruct, but I would recommend getting your CFI as early as you can. I held off for a long time, but it was the final push I needed to get where I am. Don’t delay, just get it over with!
I am so happy for you brother! We are so blessed to be able to be a part of this aviation RU-vid community. Keep doing what you are doing. You are inspiring others to remain steadfast on their journeys! Fly well! ✈️✈️✈️
Thank you Mike! Your professionalism is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to finally become a pro pilot! You’d be amazed how much I learned from you sitting back there.
Ryan, you're completed the track that I'm on. Starting with fire and flying. Working for AMC now close to Little Rock on rotor and fixed wing. I'm pursuing the pilot route and starting to put time in. Thank you for this video. If you ever want to do some teaching, I can make the time!
Glad you liked the video, and congrats on pursing being a pilot! I flew fixed wing Medevac for a little bit. I thought it would be neat to also be a PRN flight paramedic for the same organization so I could have Pilot/Flight Medic on my name badge. Never happened though!
So Ryan where can the Rest of Us fellas Get some of those Fire pants 👖 🔥 She didn't deny that the Pants and your personality solid the Deal!!❤😊 Love the channel keep it up
Great video as always! We are usually at YingLing at ICT but heard that facility is awesome. Been career FF/EMT for 29 years and working on my commercial so when I get off the DROP can do some flight instruction.
@@TheRunwayRyan Did a few tiller runs in Tampa back in the day…(80’s) What a ride! Was a volunteer at the Gunn Highway VFD for quite a few years in the mid 80’s. Did my 240 while active duty at MacDill but finished my 20+ here in Little Rock. Miss the fire service and the Air Force.
"Airlines are crap." 😆 As a former airline pilot, now flying Part 91 and enjoying it very much, I'll concede that there's some truth to that statement. Having spent years in the industry, I ultimately found the airline lifestyle to be very tedious and boring, when not outright frustrating - and I don't miss long haul red-eyes one bit. But... I did like having a cast of thousands to support me in getting that flight away, as opposed to now being the pilot, baggage handler, caterer, etc, and everything else you can think of. I did like the stability of a roster - and being able to plan my life accordingly, as opposed to now being on call. I liked flying much better, more capable equipment than what I fly now. But I sure as hell don't miss the nonsense of security screening delays and so many other tedious aspects of what I already mentioned. Whilst the pandemic forced my hand and resulted in a career pivot, nevertheless it was great while it lasted. Good times and great memories, but I enjoy what I'm doing now - and have no desire to go back.
That’s a tough one. The vision jet is good for that (compared to the SR22) because as you mentioned it is pressurized, and it is smoother/quieter. I didn’t like the vision jet, and there are some situations where the SR22 can actually carry more weight than the vision jet due to alternate fuel requirements. I think there’s many better options than the vision jet out there, but I would say it is the most attainable owner-flown jet.
Not only do I love your videos, but I have to agree with a few of these. Super cool career as a fire fighter myself empty myself a few rides on the bird myself. Super cool! Just to add to that last comment your wife is a total Smokeshow. I’m lucky to have one that’s far out of my league as well! Keep up the good work and the great flying maybe someday her daughter will follow in your footsteps through the path! I have high hopes for mine! Love the Contant bro!!
Chicks dig a man in uniform. Turnout gear or a police uniform, it doesn’t matter. I was a cop (state trooper) so I was in the ER weekly investigating crashes. I’m absolutely NOT a handsome man. I wore a wedding band to work BEFORE I got married to keep em at bay.
Do you have any interest in flying for a Corporate Jet manufacturer such as Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock? I retired from there after 34 years in the engineering & certification departments. Fantastic company to work for.
I won't say never, but as of right now I don't think that's quite what I am looking for. I think the cloverleaf test crew would be interesting, but I don't feel like it would be something I would enjoy long term. I like going to different destinations and seeing he country/world. I have heard that they are a great company though!
Networking more than luck, but I do admit that being in the right place at the right time plays a huge role. I stated flying the CJ3+ with only 1500 hours too.
Oh my God are you unique that you have that many chat hours and you're so good that's amazing I would've thought you to have 30,000 hours tremendous congratulations
