sadly the patch has introduced game breaking bugs - the homeless bug, the no more demand for residential bug and the big offices lose employees bug-I'll have to wait for the devs to get back in the office to fix before I can play the way I'd like to
Yeah the office bug is quite annoying. I've seen no issue regarding residential demand and I haven't noticed if there is an issue with the homeless. I'll check it out =)
you are NOT crazy, I had all these same bugs. I stopped playing for a week because it was sooooo frustrating. I've started a new game today, just a village but so far no issues.
Well I didn't have that issue because I was building my current city having in mind that I wanted to expand slowly. Before the update it was super easy to play the game and there was no real challenge. The update balanced a bit more, but even nowadays my city is very profitable. The only thing I think it's strange is the tile upkeep that is a bit unrealistic. It would be better to just either make each tile purchase more expensive but without the upkeep. But that's my opinion 😅
@@KING-FMJ The best tip is trying to think if you were a real mayor, what would be the main sources of income for your town? Taxes from your residents (houses) and business (commercial, industrial, signature buildings and farms). Also a couple of services can get you some income like electricity, water, sewage and public transport where your citizens have to pay to use it. Your main expenses are the services that you have to pay an upkeep cost for maintenance but also to pay the salaries of the employees for those services. I always like to think how it would work in real life and that helps me on the management. 😁
Hi, sorry for the long reply, but I'm not 100% sure of what your issue is. To import services there is now a policy that you have to turn it on, but that would make you loose even more money, since you would need to pay for those services. With the Economy 2.0, if you have many tiles unlocked that will turn your city to red very easily. Services costs have also gone up, so you can try to turn off some of them or just erase the ones that aren't really necessary. To be honest, the game is harder now for existing cities and it's recommended to either start a new city or if you want to keep playing with your city to unlock unlimited money. So, I'm not sure if your problem is a bug, but the game has quite a few bugs. If it was me, I would first try to turn off some of the services, build up more zones (residential, commercial, industries and offices) so that we could increase the amount of tax income we receive (I don't mean increase tax value, but the amount of citizens and business that pay taxes) and then I would see if that would help. If not, then maybe it's a bug and you should start a new city.
Ugh, I wish! But don’t worry- there’s a lot of work being done behind the scenes at paradox interactive to ensure the economy patch is going to be smoother!
@profsusansatsumas Not that I'm aware of. To be honest I like the economy patch. It brings some challenge to the current game that we didn't had before. There are still a couple of bugs, but overall I think paradox is going the right way.
Do you have all the tiles unlocked? That is the main reason why most saves pre economy 2.0 end up losing a lot of money since now you have to pay an upkeep fee.
