Idk what people are complaining about when it comes to the so-called "New Muse". With the exception of Showbiz and 2nd Law (and anything that may have came in the 90's before Showbiz that I haven't heard), they've pretty much sounded the exact same for the entirety of their career. Literally the biggest change they've made was adding those dubstep queue's on e 2nd Law. And even that didn't change much AT ALL.........
+Crimson Rain I love Muse, old & new but you're high as a kite if you say they sound exactly the same. Citizen Erased sounds nothing like Madness or United States Of Eurasia or Exogenesis Symphony & honestly, that's what I love about them. They went from a fairly straight forward rock band to trying all sorts of crazy shit. It's amazing but I would not say they have sounded the exact same for the entirety of their career. That's almost an injustice to their creative evolution haha
I saw them four dates like two weeks ago from today, in México, and they played this song and it sounds massive in live version, so... i think that new Muse is the same that the old Muse? and they played perfectly much more songs of the old Muse, being the new Muse.
What makes a band elite is the ability to sound as good if not better live than recordings from the studio. Muse is easily one of the best live bands. One of the best, period.
I'm so glad that they done such a good show. William Howard would have died a proud man to see his son and his sons band to perform at such a vast and well known concert and absolutely blow the crowd away with one of their best live performances ever.
I've noticed that new Muse fans appreciate all of their music, but old Muse fans just stick to the old stuff... As a new Muse fan (discovered them with "The Resistance"), I can say that there is not a single Muse song that I don't like. I like some more than others, but there are none that I don't like. An I have one thing to say to the people that say Muse is the greatest band ever... PREACH IT!
+Timothy Morris I completely agree with you. Just like you, i discovered Muse while playing some game that had Unnatural Selection in its soundtrack. After that i started listening to all their stuff and, man, they're awesome!

+Timothy Morris stop with this new fans are the best thing, OOS is my fave, Im and 'old' muse fan but I agree that all there stuff is great, not just sticking to old stuff... dont assume and generalize..
i sort of grew up with muse, they were my first ever live concert and i was just a 12 year old kid when i first heard them. now, 15 years later, this song just randomly came to my mind today driving to university and i played it about ten times, before playing the entire album this song was on from beginning to end. LA traffic allowed me to sit and listen and cry, reminisce and re-experience everything and the conclusion i came to is that this is legitimately one of the greatest songs written, especially for the time. it’s like they took the qualities of OK Computer era radiohead and combined it with a weird version of the strokes but if they were a heavy metal band instead of pop rock. i don’t understand it whatsoever, and yet it makes me feel everything. honestly, i dont know any of their modern stuff, but ive heard from around its nothing like this anymore. either way, the musical brilliance is so evident in these guys, especially bellamy. hats off, really. this is a masterpiece.
Muse is a very talented bunch of musicians.....let's just face it. I adore their song writing ability but most of all their amazing talent and ability to create new sounds within their specialty.....what TALENT. Love you guys!
I'm not gonna deny this performance was incredible, it might be my 2nd favorite live performance of Citizen Erased because my favorite still remains to be the one from Sydney Big Day Out 2004.
I think in terms of use the most of what they had to pay with, certainly. Saw them here, Earls Court, and the Mod Club, a 1000 capacity sweat box in Toronto. All absolutely top notch.
i’m not a very emotional person and i rarely feel the need to cry but muse has done it not once but twice, the goosebumps i get from this is amazing. this is the best band i’ve ever listened to i really hope to see them once in my life 🙏🏼
Even though this is my number one favorite MUSE tune, I must adhere; I cannot listen to this tune anymore. It brings out so much sadness and I've heard all I'll ever need.
Man I remember buying this on DVD from eBay back then. Such a great performance, especially this song. I love the extremely subdued second verse and chorus. Just a great arrangement.
i almost always cry at the end of this song most beautiful perfect thing i have ever heard and will ever hear. cant wait to hear this at wembley, i can definitely tell you me and my girlfriend will fall in love with each other all over again once we can hear this live again.
ydihtty_ Oh, that's interesting. I guess it makes sense that Muse would have a live keyboardist since on the studio albums, Matt plays keyboard and guitar, which would obviously be impossible live.
Oh my. I've seen this once before and finally found it again, it's my favorite performance of Citizen Erased. Matt always delivers such emotion in this song, so many others as well, and this one is a knock-out! Looks sooo cold, obvious why he's wearing a duster--not a bad look.
GARDEN_GNOMES They do this so often though, say "we're going for a more stripped back sound" etc, and then they churn out stuff "Unsustainable" and "Follow Me". It'd be great to think the old Muse would make a comeback, but I'm not convinced it's going to happen.
I wouldn't say Explorers was 'old Muse', it was too saccharine for that. Liquid State I'll give you, Survival was maybe, and Animals was without doubt the best song on the album, but more like 'In Rainbows' era Radiohead than old Muse. In m opinion.
Adam I guess I agree with you. But In Rainbows happens to be one of my favorite albums of all time haha. I also forgot Supremacy, I thought that one was very good too.
yo soy fan de muse desde 2010, la verdad todos los discos son excelentes, en mi opinion los ultimos son mas evolucionados, pero los viejitos ufff tambien mejor dicho nada malo
this happens to me so many times with Muse songs. I write comments praising the songs, and then I see a similar comment from myself made a year or two ago
@chrisDOTnet Glad you like the quality. Unfortunately I currently have no means of putting my files onto an online server but I shall look into it :) Im taking requests for other high quality videos though :)
Knights of Cydonia has ALWAYS had a western theme. The bassline resembles the sound of galloping horses, and have you not seen the music video??? The addition of Ennio Morricones 'Man with a Harmonica' intro was a brilliant addition.
Muse, new or old, is at the end of the day, an evolution of the trio's original vison. Try something, perfect it, and onto another epic endeavor, because otherwise...any band would get stale. Most bands do this, but Muse does it best.
I dont like the new Muse but we have to respect that everything is in constant change. Knowing this, makes us want to appreciate the present even more!!!!!
chatochafa130 actually i like that on their albums they throw in a lil old school muse...its like an easter egg for fans that have listened to them for quite some time.
