this song is one of the greatest things ever composed in my opinion, the way it seamlessly switches from the loud bits to the calmer stuff, the wonderful guitar solo... its absolutely magical
Best song ever made, best album and best band ever existed! I love Citizen Erased but i am sad too because they does not play this song anymore! I WANT IT FUCKIN BACK! PLEASE, PLEASE, DON'T ERASE CITIZEN
i know, but you know, i want played more in all the world, i am from italy and, well, the only time they played it here in my country it was in 2001/2002 in milan
xXD14M4NT3Xx they played this song in Portugal in 2010 in a place with around 100.000 people and like 90% was stupid twilight fans. The result of that, was an obvious epic moment for any Muse fan turned in a moment where only 10% of the crowd sang along with the band, cause the rest of the crowd didn´t had a clue what music was being played. Sad but true...
Dom's dad passed away immediately after the gig, not during this song (to my knowledge). That is why Stockholm syndrome was left off, because it was the last song they played. Citizen Erased was much earlier in the set, between Muscle Museum and Apocalypse please (only the 5th song).
That´s why i love Muse, and specially this song You have a explosive combiation of THREE instruments played by gods playing the best song ever made. And in the end, you have the most beautiful piano outro ever composed. But this doesn´t finish there. Then you have the intro of a song that they will create 2 years later (in their 4th album, Black Holes And Revelations) What else i can say?
You got to know that Muse almost always play riffs of further tracks on every tours. Hysteria was played in 2002 at Rock Am Ring as a demo track, Stockholm Syndrome's riff and Butterflies & Hurricanes piano part was also played at Montreux 2002 and there's so many that I didn't mention. With Muse, there are always littles treats lol.
Perfect song. Head-banging riffs, emotional piano part at the end, meaningful song. Such an under-rated song too. Epic performance, probably the best ever of this song, even better with the Take A Bow outro. Muse.
that being said, i'm still super pumped to see them (3 times) on this tour, and i'm really glad they're out with a new album. still good stuff and muse are still a kickass band, no matter what. and i'm glad it doesn't sound like their other stuff...the variety they bring to their music is amazing and makes them always feel relevant and new, and i never get tired of their music
My fave song of all time and an amazing performance. I'd say it's around this point where Muse had already fully matured into the same band they've been for the last 16 years - they've expanded in songs and live ideas but they still come across as the same band. The early vids (late 90s up to 2001) have a different sort of feel, more craziness on stage, and they still haven't matured - both eras awesome to watch though.
they played it in Portugal on the first gig of this summer tour, cause it was one of the most voted on their website.. When I heard Dom starting to play the drums like he does on this video I literaly started to cry, it was so amazing that no words can describe..
This is just..... epic and beautiful. Citizen Erased is one of my favorite Muse songs, and the Take a Bow outro was fantastic. The emotion in the crowd was evident too near the end (during the softer part of the song). I'm going to see Muse for the first time live this April. :D Very excited, but I wish they would play songs like this because their older stuff is better (not to say I don't also love the newer stuff). :(
One of the best songs ever! Could listen to it over and over again for hours. The melody, the changes, the tempo and tempo change, the technique, the vocals, the words, the meaning, the seven string guitar...the cresendo into the guitar solo....ahh amazing!!! It's a stroke of genius if you ask me.
I got this a while ago, some genius (i don't know who or how they did it) intercepted BBC's sattelite feed so they got the entire concert in full and in extremely high quality. It was up for download somewhere, but i forget where exactly.
Really a gigantic performance of Citizen Erased, doubly so because it's obviously pretty chilly there! Matt's voice is pure and as beautiful as ever. 6:40 he looks up at the camera, flashes his baby blues, but love the way he closes his eyes and is lost in the words most of the time.
MUSE, please come back to my part of the world to satisfy my addiction. I want to watch you perform over and over again. No one will ever top you. This is EPIC.
***** you have the right to like new stuff, but they have lost something. No one here is happy to say that. I loved them to DEATH. But they have become...commercial. Still a great band, but not as great as it used to be.
"take a bow" at the end never seen this before! love the way they dont rush songs out! matt must have so many ideas/songs to perfect cant wait for the next album!
Seen them six times, they've played this only once, in Manchester at the Lancashire County Cricket Ground. First and probably the only time I'll be in a cricket ground. It was majestic. Worth the 10 year wait.
This is the best work of muse ever. ;Dø. and the best recorded version of citizen erased ever. No one can compete with this guy. Lead guitar Lead Vocal Lead piano. :D. peace out
im surprised chris still has the power of speech from the velocity in which his head rockets back and forward on every second ive ever seen of him, what an awesome guy and bassist.
Break me in, teach us to cheat And to lie, cover up What shouldn't be shared And the truth's unwinding Scraping away at my mind Please stop asking me to describe For one moment I wish you'd hold your stage With no feelings at all Open-minded I'm sure I used to be so free Self-expressed, exhausting for all To see and to be What you want and what you need The truth's unwinding Scraping away at my mind Please stop asking me to describe For one moment I wish you'd hold your stage With no feelings at all Open-minded I'm sure I used to be so free For one moment I wish you'd hold your stage With no feelings at all Open-minded I'm sure I used to be so free Wash me away Clean your body of me Erase all the memories They will only bring us pain And I've seen, all I'll ever need
Great song and this live version is amazing, he's really touching by the Grace, he's so peaceful when he sing it. Thanks for sharing and like kristianw600i, I'm pretty in a sad mood after that but in a beautiful way so...
@MizzeeOH I saw them in November, and they played alot of old songs! I think they're aware of that people want to hear the older stuff more. And for that, I totally respect them. Best band ever.
