Nice watch Simon, yes shame about the packaging. In Japan they always get the canister and here in Turkey we often get it but not every time. Some places never get it or very rarely. Thanks for the great review as always! As for the plane, you should let the airport know when you're making a video, so they can divert the flight 😂

These are really nice looking watches. I think it was a year or so ago Citizen did a re-issue of their Challenge Diver from the 70s. The Promaster Titanium NB6021was around 1000 US dollars give or take and was powered by a Miyota 9051. From what I understand, this model is a budget version of the that watch. They are very similar. There are some that come with more colorful gradient or fumé dials in green yellow and blue as well. Nice one Simon! 👍❤

You were kind enough to share a discount code from H Samuel when you bought this watch, I got the uprated "Lefty" with the burgundy bezel on rubber strap at around half price too. Been a fan of the "Lefty" going way back and I'd be embarrassed to tell you how many iterations I own. Thanks for the review (and the code). Citizen is an amazing brand with many affordable options but a lot of decent luxury watches too. They tend to keep the best at home so explore the JDM models.

If it was a high beat yes. I have a lot of citizen JDMs. I'm going to get the high beat version of this. I prefer the look of this to sub homages. The clasp feels cheap to me. Thanks for the review.

Yes I agree it's a looker mate. But the pucker list is too long for my liking. I think once they can address your pucker list it would be worth the money. Until then it's a polite pass on this one.

I just a week ago received my new Citizen’s NY0129-58L from Amazon for only $199 on a special invitation deal . Mine is the same watch but with blue gradient dial and blue bezel. I’m really loving it and it’s a fantastic watch . Just last month I bought a NY086 Fugu watch from a friend of mine that was used in brand new condition for only $60 . It’s the Pepsi Fugu with the same 8204 movement. Like you I’m definitely liking the brand much more and recognizing them for the great watch that they are . I have many Seiko divers in my collection and not sure if I’d say this watch is better than them but pretty darn close 👍🏻

This watch is really underrated and under appreciated. Very well designed piece but might be a bit too chunky and large for some.

Male end links an issue especially when it’s a long lug to lug not an issue if you go for the rubber strap. I thought that range had a textured dial. The main reason I won’t get one is the thickness and no sapphire,

Fair enough mate, it’s not going to be for everyone and as a certified diver, it’s better having mineral crystal given it won’t shatter like sapphire. Thanks for your honest feedback and for watching 👍👍

Citizen have started to up their game recently with some decent new releases and reissues. I bought one of the new Orca's a couple of weeks back and have hardly taken it off. The bracelet is the same as this but properly brushed and the pin and collar didn't really bother me. I also think people get too hung up on sapphire these days. As you said, on a certified diver mineral is arguably the better choice. My Orca came from Italy via Amazon EU and I finally got a promaster in the yellow dive tank.

it is a certified diver's watch, sapphire is the worse choice for this because it shatters quickly if you accidentally knock it against something. Mineral glass scratches more easily but is less susceptible to breakage.
