Citizen Promaster BN0220-16E New dive watch. Full review. Beast from the East! Is it any good? 

Great looking watch, Citizen make really good watches. One of the many things I do not miss from not frequenting watch forums anymore is the obsession with water resistance. I have a 34mm swatch with a 30m water resistance rating. I have worn that watch for ten years, swam with it, jumped off diving boards with it and it has never let in one drop of water. Unless you really are a pro diver (and if you were you would be wearing a dive computer not a watch) then 50-100m is more than enough, 200m is cementing that. Anything more is just a bragging match!

Hey Chris, congrats on your new channel and first video. One thing you will find once you have reviewed more watches with titanium bezels, they don't sound or move like stainless steel bezels, something to do with it's properties as a metal. Keep 'em coming!

The thing I've seen about water resistance is the Hydraulic Press folks have been pressure testing dive watches to super deep depths. All the watches from cheap to expensive have held up till at least twice their depth rating. The main reason they stop is not water ingress but the case-back presses inward. Back off the pressure and they start working again. The case-back however, is never the same again.

Great review. Great to hear another Scottish watch reviewer. I'm a big guy and love big divers watches, but I don't think I could fall in love with the square case. One of the watches I wear most is my cheap all black Citizen NH8385 -11 E . Not a proper diver rated at 100m, but when I used to dive in the 90s my watch was a 50m Casio which I had as a back up for my computer. It went to 50m a couple of times in the English Channel and once here in Australia no problem.

Great video, I have the blue camo dial version. Love it. Citizen have some of the design that are more unique and daring (to be different) compare to others divers watches out in the market.

This has one of the most legible dials. Cute monster / tortoise watch. It sure looks different from other watches out there.

One I whacked so hard at a corner of a stairs I thought it shattered into pieces but it only got a almost invisible tiny nick that you need a microscope to see!!!! Wish they do a version that has sapphire crystal and automatic but keep everything else as is. Cheers mate and keep the awesome vids

I have just ordered mine to day love my dive watches I also have a Bulova sea king which looks similar but it is very big and heavy so it is not for wearing all day great review keep it up for more watches

good job on the video! nice shots. i just bought the watch and you did an excellent job describing it. i will agree the bezel action is not what i expected, but i fell in love with it's light, smooth non-clicking action, tho i normally love clicking action on bezels. most important are, as you stated, the lack of alignment issues one normally has with seiko, and the superb lack of backplay on this bezel....functionally it is top of the line. look forward to more of your videos.

Love the watch and the video. I heard some layer of oxidation or some sort on the exterior is actually what makes up the scratches on Titanium... if anyone knows more about this I'm sure we'd be interested... maybe I am way off... Titanium is interesting stuff :)

It's an intriguing watch. I don't know if other people have noticed but the case of the watch reminds me of a piece of concrete!. Very unusual.

Appreciated your video. But for the love of all that’s holy, why no wrist shot? You make a big deal about how well it wears and how it’s not as large on wrist as it seems. It would help to see it on a actual wrist rather than just your words.

Is the crystal sapphire with anti reflective coating?

a 200 meter diver's ISO certified watch can easily go to 300 meters. they are certified to work to at LEAST 200 meters under all circumstances meaning current, hard swiming AT 200 meters. which means they have to be tested to 300 meters . over time water resistance deteriorates but to what degree? to put it on perspective I had a 10 ATM casio pro trek and after 10 years i took it for a free dive to at least 15-20 meters a few times and not a drop of water made it in. and I was threading fast and furious to get up on time.this watch could problaly work as a back up to any DC for years to come without issues. Also 200 meters is way above the average of a recreational diver. diving under 30 meters requires special certifications and gas mixes that are costly. the record right now for a non saturation diver is about 300 metrers and they can only stay down there for 10-15 minutes at most because they are burning through gas incredibly fast and nitrogen narcosis kicks in and you are dead. So people mad about this watch not being 1300 meters like the original is hilarious

Oh no.You ruin a nice video man.Pls next time show as a wrist shot on the camera,not just two pictures that are taken so close to your wrist.Now i can't imagine how would this watch wear on my wrist.Good video and i hope you'll take my advice in the future
