I purchased the yellow dial version last year around my birthday. It wasn’t available in the US, so I had to purchase it on the grey market. I paid about $325 for the watch. This is the first watch I’ve purchased in my collection. I absolutely love it and I get compliments because of the yellow dial. It’s beautiful to look at. I do agree, the crown placement is annoying and it can be tough to use at times, but if you look at the watch overall, you will fall in love with it.
First video I’ve seen by you. You really got me with the 3 pillars of watch collecting. I immediately subbed because of your humor. The quality of the video overall is great too
I own both and it's a toss up which one wears better. Since yellow is my favorite color, the Citizen gets a lot of wrist time but the Tissot wears great and looks very good and hides scratches well. I'll keep both.
I'm not "into" integrated bracelet watches as a rule, but I'm a big Citizen fan and overall I like these. Where they missed the matk in my opinion is not using the 9015 movement, which would have allowed them to be thinner and possibly a true PRX spoiler. As it stands they're just a good watch for the new collector. 😢
The Citizen is everything that I was missing on the Tissot PRX, but I still prefer the bracelet from the PRX. It’s just so clean with those rectangular, flat links. Would need a combination of both.
Aside from the fact that I died from the watches not being synchronized, I really like these, especially the yellow one, don't see that color too often and the nickname too. As a weeb myself the moment I read the word Tsuyosa I got hooked lol, very nice. Personally I'm looking forward to a black or blue dial with a rose gold case. Let's get even weirder!
I have Tsuyosa black dial over the month. Does not take off from my wrist. No problem with this watch. Very comfortable and very versatile watch, You can get it everywere from work to garden playing football with kids. You don't need take off this watch. And I like classic "Rolex" looking.
Excellent video. You summed up the watch collector’s psyche perfectly when you said that both the PRX and the Citizen are not better or worse than the other. We just want to believe that we have bought the ´better´ watch…. The yellow dial looks great.
I bought three on my last cruise - Tiffany, green and yellow. At each port I'd be on the hunt for another color, and the reasonable prices made it possible. These are as beautiful as they are a great value and recommended 100%.
I think the word you’re looking for to describe the Aqua Terra is perfect. Yep, just perfect. These Citizens look pretty nice. Might have to add one to the collection.
Thx for this supreme video! Just bought the yellow Tsuyosa yesterday and I’m super happy with it. After wearing a Rolex Submariner from 2018 for 5 years almost every day I was a bit affraid of testing the tsuyosa and the prx at the jewelry. But I just needed a second to decide in the end between those two watches. Especially the fact that the PRX costs 520$ (475€) more than the Tsuyosa made this decision easy for me. The prx doesn’t feel so much more expensive from a aesthetic and haptics point of view. To me the bracelet of the prx it felt even cheaper because of some very sharp edges. Ofc the inside might be better but I’m not sure if it’s almost 520$ worth it for a everyday watch. But as you said. It’s always a matter of taste and budget in the end. The Tsuyosa doesn’t feel that wrong to me on my wrist comparing to my Rolex submariner wich I sold for lot more money then i spent. Maybe one day I’m goin to miss this beauty of manufacturing but not at the moment. 😅✌️
Theres a good argument for integrated bracelet watches as dailies - less points of failure and the steel is not going to wear out like a strap. Citizen should also debut a cheaper Eco Drive model that would appeal to the mass market non-watch enthusiast, those who dont know or care for a mechanical movement. They could really make a splash with this one. The crown is an excellent choice, it wont dig into the wrist. I take my Seiko 5 with recessed crown biking and that feature is excellent.
I was going to start a watch RU-vid channel then I happened across this video with it's slick style, off beat humour and I accept defeat, factory work it is
Just pre-ordered the yellow version here in Japan. It may come as a surprise but they haven't been released here yet! 21st September is the day. Cost is ¥63,800 minus 30%... ¥44,600... which is more expensive than anywhere else... 😢 I had the choice of yellow, ice blue, green and the two tone grey dial. I might get the ice blue one as well but I quite fancy the PRX (Quartz or Powermatic 80) in ice blue but prefer the new rubber straps which only come with the white (full lume) black and dark blue dials. For the record the PRX wears longer because of those pesky lugs so if, unlike me, you have small wrists go for the Tsuyosa. I also prefer the bracelet but not the clasp of the Tsuyosa and the hue of the colours. The PRX wears flat, which on the rubber strap is pretty cool but on the bracelet feels a little unwieldly. As far as the movements are concerned, paying the extra for the PRX doesn't feel worth it but the value proposition of a quartz model in a more interesting colour would make more sense.
I have two cousins who are in second-hand car business. They buy old & new cars, bikes; fix/modify them and sell them. They have like 30-40 cars/bikes at any given time. They make good money and it is one of their many businesses. Every two weeks or a month, I see them with new cars. They drive them until they are sold. Then they use another. They don't have any personal car. It is really fun. I think it is the same for the people in watch business.
Citizen Tsuyosa gripped my wrist, I liked it very much, it is a great design, of course it is not right to compare PRX with the movement, but Citizen is a good and solid watch, I recommend it to everyone.❤❤❤
Have a solar powered CZAW0096-06L coming to me. Just looking for basic everyday watch, still love the mechanical watches. Watch normally runs for $300, I found a discount for $200. Just beginning my watch collection.
In both Mechanical and Solar drive watches I will choose Citizen over Seiko any day of the week and I don't care what the Watch Community has to say about this. I just purchased a Tsuyosa with a blue dial and I love it. I also have an Ecodrive that is 20 years old and it runs as good as the day I purchased the timepiece. My Tissot PRX is amazing but it cost a lot more than a Tsuyosa. BTW I paid $315 for my Citizen Tsuyosa from Macys. I paid $400 for my PRX from Macys two years ago and it would be hard to find a new one at this price today.
Yellow and green, in that order. Which surprises me as I would not imagine searching fir a yellow dial. Eg, I dislike yellow Doxas. Also, I like how the case is narrower near lugs, this is why it wears smallers (sans lugs) than PRX which is quite “flat”. I would like to see 100m of WR.
I dunno whether the PRX has the better movement, I have read that they have plastic parts therein, and that there are reliability issues with them. The Citizen would have been a better proposition if it had the 9015 engine with the date at 6. IMHO. Beautiful colours though.
