I used to own one of these, an older model, there's a procedure to reset the BSI. Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet, ensure all equipment is switched off, close all the doors and remove key from ignition. Wait 3 minutes, disconnect the battery and wait 15 seconds, reconnect the battery, wait 10 seconds, switch on the sidelights using the open window do not open the doors, switch on the ignition, hold the lock button on the keyfob for 10 seconds. You can now unlock the doors and start the engine, this resets all the BSI modules and set everything back to standard. The BSI is basically a computer that sometimes gives problems and needs reset, you are supposed to wait till it goes to sleep before disconnecting the battery, lift the bonnet and wait at least 3 minutes, with all equipment switched off or it won't go to sleep. Sorry for long post, hope it helps someone.
Thanks for all the help Jimmy. The next day the a/c started working along with the ECO mode (engine stop/start). Went out today (17th Aug) and the a/c was not working, neither was the ECO mode. wen't about our business, came back to the car, a/c is working OK. I've turned off the ECO mode for the time being. I might come back to you for another diag to see if the battery health is being reported as bad, if so, I can start to look at other causes for this error. Thanks to all those who commented with ideas and other areas to check, it's much appreciated.

As always fantastic informative, clear videos. I have a C4 GP 2014, works fantastic but every now and again spits its dummy out and goes into limp mode and knocks the auto gears to manual only. Seen a fair few of your videos and one from the past hinted at electrical issues. I recently got myself a topdon pro which I am still learning the ropes with and although not the same system as yours the way you explain everything has been so helpful in using my own. So my course of action now is a new battery and clean up all the terminals and check fuses in the box in the front of battery and then replace battery with new one. Thankyou for showing how to get the dam thing out. Another issue that I had not noticed at first was when plugging in the topdon was that there was no power (topdon has internal battery) with the engine off. Again one of your past videos indicates this to be a related fault to the auto gears failure and how to fix, Thanks for putting the time and effort into making these videos, they are greatly appreciated
LOVE these viseos. Exactly what you need to sort it yourself. I would force the designers to work on their own designs for a few months, sure they would make it easier after that.
Jimmy, as others have posted here, on a lot of newer cars a scan tool is all you really need for basic diagnostics of the AC system. there are even actuation controls to turn things on and off. One of the other things that can fail is the blend door. everything appears to be working, but only blows hot air. blend door can be stuck in the hot position, but I think you can test that with an actuation test on the scan tool. you should give it a go sometime.
AC systems can fail to operate correctly if a thermistor is blown. They control the temperature of the air coming into the car and basically stop the system from freezing up. Usually accessible from inside the car and a good place to start if it's proven there is no leak in the system.
Isn't that just the internal air temp sensor which can be monitored on a scan tool? Or is there a separate thermistor specific only to the air-con which cannot be monitored by a scan tool, and which doesn't throw a code if defective? Reason I ask is I know someone with a Peugeot with similar problem.
@@johnbiggs9561There is a separate thermistor inserted within the AC system on most modern cars. I think it's function is to shut down the compressor if it senses the system freezing up.
Hello Jimmy, having the similar faults in my Grand picasso prominently U1F00 (also sign pops up for a sec ‘ Engine fault: have the vehicle been repaired’) then it goes away but service light remians on? Any possiblity to check with you. Please tell me your location so i can bring the vehicle there.
Thanks for video. Please tell the customer do not throw away the old battery, I belive it good. Did You test the old battery after You remove it? Please check. I had sort of problem on my c4 picasso, battery drain out in 2 days completely, the problem was, one of the relays did not go to sleep, continiusly drainong 0.7 amps. Because of the design, testing the buttery connected does not give 100% accuracy. I test my battery connected, the tester showing 23% of health, replace. Take the battery out- 100% healt, with the same tester.
What year was your C4? Mine is 65 plate but it looks like there is no relay in the Battery Management Unit, just fuses. Unless I'm mistaken or they are located elsewhere. Any body advise? I'm going to strip mine and clean all the contacts (Jimmy did this in another video), to see if it clears the electrical fault and stops the battery drain.
AC my Citroen C4 Picasso has the same issue. Will work for a few weeks. It has a leak. Appears this one has the same problem or who worked on it does not know what they are doing, there's plenty out there that don't loo what they are doing
A slightly inconvenient place to put a battery, but I suppose you (hopefully) don't replace them very often. I used to own a 206 which was throwing up an airbag light on the first cold start, it just needed a new battery, but like with my 208, it was in an easily accessible place.

Ran my battery flat camping then had jump leads on it for ages nothing working to start with then got power back to dash still wouldn't start now rac say ecu not communicating hopefully it will just be a new battery
I am not even going to comment on the A/C possible causes because if you say that the customer went to an A/C specialist and they couldn't find a fault, hey , who am I to suggest anything. But one thing I can tell you what happened today at 16.30 my time ´. A customer with a Ford Galaxy came straight from the A/C specialist to let me check why the A/C wasn't working after they recharged it. I am an a**hole of course because I, we , refuse to look at work that has been done by "specialists". We pretend to care and feel sorry for the customer but please go back to your A/C specialist and let them show their capabilities IF they have anything more to show for them than a recharge and a quick leak test with a UV light. Wish I could make money like that..( edit) Yes those geniuses that design the battery box placement have done a nice job. Good that we( in our case) have a nice percentage on selling batteries otherwise we had to charge for a battery change.
