JVC CS-J420X eBay - £17.99 - I fitted them to my 107 last year - 30% volume boost, 50% better clarity. Best upgrade I ever game my wee car. Finally, radio > engine 👍
Anyone looking for the adapter, it's not the one on description, but it you click on it there is the correct one on recommended similar items on Amazon. Thanks for the video great stuff
@@Dark-Lord3386 have you seen my other videos? I fitted a new head unit, some rear speakers and a sub in the blue C1 for a bit more cabbage. These are a good/nice and easy cheap upgrade over the original speakers if you don’t plan to go that far though.
@@nbqlkov I’ve heard mixed reviews, but can only go off my own experience. I’ve never had an issue with them personally though and the stuff they sell does tend to be tried and tested.
i'd suggest a door speakers retrofit(at least the front ones). Makes a huge difference and it doesn't take a lot of time. I've done it one mine when I had the dash out for some other issues and used all 100% genuine parts from a donor one
Yea the door speakers are much better than the dash ones. I fitted some rear speakers in mine which made a decent difference though ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4V-M0dXYsDw.htmlsi=cD4xg6e6jShD9lJY
Its gonna be great ... It was great ,,, I did mine ages ago and the fronts make a huge difference .. throw in two old hi fi speakers in the boot , and you wont need anything else.
Nice work, but I’m still going to push my whiny opinion that the little speaker upgrade, plus 6x9s on the parcel shelf, plus a sub/amp under the wife-seat makes 100x difference whilst costing not much over £150 all-in. I appreciate that’s not within everyone’s budget, but it’s certainly worth considering if one’s budget permits 😊 Nice nails, btw.
Oh yea of course mate, you’ve seen the Audio vids I’ve done on the blue C1 haven’t you? All the stuff I’ve used in that shitbox was cheap lol. Upgrading these speakers is the minimum upgrade required to make the stereo even listenable tbh lol.
My Wagon R has these mini tweeters on the dash and also I've fitted them in the rear roof as they were just 2 holes a speaker grill and wiring put in at the factory, I put FLI speakers in the quality is just to say better than stock, I have found if you cut a car cleaning sponge up and place it below the speaker you get a bit better sound quality, it might be worth an experiment. I wasn't expecting dolby surround sound but it's ok. Happy new year mate all the best 👍
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos my Wagon R isn't any more substantial than a heinz bean tin for metal work, it just takes the vibration out of the body when the volume is raised with only a small bit of bass applied on the head unit
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I've never had the pleasure of driving or a journey in a C1, but the Suzuki was never crash tested by Euro Ncap so I dread to think the mess it would end up in in a bump, the 1.3 vvt engine is absolutely mint it's never let me down in 7 years of ownership it's a majorly underrated car if you get beyond how it looks and you can fit a full sized pallet in the back with the seats down, it's like a small van 👍
Have you come across anything a little higher spec that will work with the original system? I’m looking to get the best sound I possibly can without changing the system or wiring extra speakers anywhere (I’m an idiot and this will only end badly!) Cheers
@@darrenpratt8803 the main thing you’ve got to check for is if the magnet in the back will fit in the hole in the dash if you go for higher spec/more powerful ones. If you’re using the original stereo though it’s possibly not a good idea to go for higher spec speakers as the stereo probably isn’t really powerful enough to drive them properly as I think it’s only about 10 watts rms per channel. I could be wrong though 🤔
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Ah alright. Just stumbled upon this video since I was looking to upgrade my own speakers :D It's nice to see how tings are taken apart. Great video.
The speakers are only a better quality version of the same size so they’re never gonna make much bass. I have a sub in the other one, and rear speakers too ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dBVvtnb44FY.html
im going buy some of the speakers as ive got to turn up the radio to 25 to hear any music out of the ones ive got in the carplus ive bought a new flip radio for it as well
The Pioneer set that you installed in the blue C1 is okay but not as a front one. I have upgraded the dash speakers to the Pioneer 3 way set - which is technically the same shit as your JCV but with a different sticker. I've done the shelf with two 5.25" 2 way speakers and an underseat sub from the same family. The sound quality is significantly better than with the stock speakers. All in all I love your content so keep it coming!
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yeah I have seen your setup and apart from the Monster sub I liked it. I need the boot space hence I opted for the underseat sub, plus I wanted to keep the windows in place.
@@Gourmondise it’s not bad for a budget setup but I’m debating putting a better one in and amping everything like I have in my younger days lol. I used to have a V70 T5 with 4 12” subs and 6 speakers including a pair of boxed vibe squares 6x9 on the rear shelf, but I had a powerful head unit and the 6x9 were amped. I think on the bugs, the factory head unit is just as much of a weakness as the oem speakers tbh. When adding more speakers you can wire them series or parallel. Parallel is louder but lower resistance, so more likely to overload the amp. The aftermarket speakers are already lower resistance than the oem ones but unlikely to cause issues alone. If anything it’s likely to blow a fuse or trip out before it blows anything up, but to be on the safe side and for better sound you’d be better with a little amp tbh. Sorry for long winded response, just read it back and I don’t half waffle some shit sometimes 🤷♀️
Thanks again for such perfection. Just picked some up off Amazon for 15 quid. Just need to find that 10mm now! PS Where can you get those ones that tickle your bollox. Asking for a friend. Thanks
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeah, job done. I've put some MTX TR40C, 10 cm on my Shitroen. Improvement? About 20%, with not much bass added. Plus I smashed one of the car's speaker grills. I'm pleased :))
Thanks to your great videos now I have 3 pair of speakers in my Pug. Two 4" on the dash, two 5.25" in the front doors and two 6.5" on the parcel shelf. (And the underseat sub) And everything works just fine, and if something I can get away with lower volumes due to the closer proximity of the door speakers! Here is a theoretical question - If I was bored and want to fit another pair of 5.25" in the rear doors will that work in your opinion? And as always your videos and knowledgeable answers are highly appreciated!
Cheers mate. You could make it work, but there’s a couple of things to take into consideration. Firstly how you’re gonna power them. Sometime you can just wire extra speakers in the same outputs as the others, but it alters the resistance. If you wire 2 speakers of the same resistance in series, you add them together so it doubles it. The same 2 in parallel it halves it. Best idea is to a mom them but it’s a bit more dicking about. Also, when adding more and more speakers you’ve got more chance of wiring them out of phase, which can actually reduce the bass so that’s something to keep in mind.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos thanks for the reply. I did tested the system for phase and everything checks out. I also meticulously followed the same wires and tapped into the right ones so all good. I may just buy another pair of 5.25"s and see how it goes. Worst case scenario I buy a cheap 50 quid 4 channel amp and re-wire the whole thing. Also, also - do we or will we have a page/site/insta forum something to share and discuss these? I think you have enough subs to form a small community, least this is how I feel!
Those are the better factory speakers. The tweeter is in the dash and the midrange/woofer is in the door. I’ve never heard them in person to compare though.
Thanks mate. Put a fatter thread screw in, or stick a bit of cable tie in the hole to pack it out like a wall plug if you know what I mean, that should work too.
They’re good bang for buck and a lot better than the factory shitters, but there are higher end ones available. To make the most of them you’d really have to change the head unit too though.
No the plug is separate. They should be on eBay, just search for Aygo/c1/107 speaker adapters. Also, you can just adapt the wiring and put crimp on spades directly onto them.
I recently installed similar pioneer speakers into my wee Toyota Aygo. Followed all the instruction with the wiring and it worked fine when I put them in but then after a couple of hours I came back, tried starting the car and the battery was dead! Thinking could it be a shitty battery or maybe issue with the speaker or something else?
Nah won’t be the speakers. It’s most likely that you left it turned on and was messing about without the engine running as you were installing/testing them
@@flapsfalkland5181 makes a change haha. Have you heard about this clean air charge for vans in Manchester? It stretches all the way to you! Proper piss take
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yeah! We also have Betty, our Transit Conversion and will get battered everytime we get on and off M61 at Westhoughton and then wherever else we travel 😭😭 might just look at converting my Shitter further 🤣🤣
Hello, I enjoy watching your videos so keep up the good work! I purchased the same JVC speakers as your ones for my Peugeot 107 and an adapter from ebay but for some reason these JVC speakers sound worse than the OEM ones currently installed!!! I changed the left speaker first and tested it against the OEM using the stereo balance as per your instruction, the right OEM one sounded much better than the left JVC one I installed. The JVC one appeared to have less sound and much less bass. I used an adapter so the wiring should be correct. Any ideas please? Cheers
Was just gonna try this Tim but have tweeters in the dash 😮. Bought speakers and adapters and all like a dick before i checked..... can i still fit these with another adapter or do i have to fanny about cutting wires???. Cant find a tutorial, forum post.....fuck all 😢
@@w4rdy364 tbh if you have tweeters already then these probably aren’t any better. The standard dash speakers are horrendous, but you’ve got the fancy components!
Might send the 4" jvc's back and get better 6.5" mids then. The factory ones are absolute gash! and the can no longer live with the power of the new JVC head unit 😂
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I’ve just ordered pioneer speakers for my front dash and came across this comment. My c1 has door speakers so will this mean I will have the same issue with 4 wires going to 1 speaker? If so I noticed you linked in the description adapters for door speakers so will I have to get them if that is the case of having 4 wires going to 1 speaker?
I have press the link to buy the speakers but the link doesn’t work and I don’t know what size to buy for the Toyota aygo. Please if you can help me I will appreciate this. Thanks Mihail
Hi, they are 4” speakers. The ones I fitted were JVC CSJ420X. If you type CSJ420X in eBay loads should come up. Make sure your car has dash speakers, and not tweeters in the dash and the main speakers in the doors before buying them though!
No sorry mate I don’t think the ones I got are available from the same place, but there are some on eBay. If you search for Aygo/C1/107 speaker wiring adapters then they should come up in the search.
Maybe they’ve sold out and removed them from sale? They can be found on eBay too if you search the model number and just search Peugeot 107 speakers adapters too iirc
@@jeffwass8268 should do the job. Make sure you’ve got there dash speakers and not the tweeters or else you’ll have to wire them differently to get them to work
