DPF Particulate additive pouch- soft bag/ tank on Citroen C4 is replaced every 80-90K km.
In this video I will show you How to replace soft tank (bag) on Citroen C4 Picasso , when you have Additive level low.
The DPF additive tank on the Citroen C4 Picasso is located in front of the rear wheel, on the right of passenger's side.(next to your fuel tank) . In this video you will see the tank location and how to access it .This DPF additive which, when mixed with the fuel helps for cleaning and regeneration of your DPF
This soft tank (bag) is the same for Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner
As you can see on the video there is no refilling cap for adding the fluid.
It is contained in a small tank (soft bag) with non return valve 2.4 liters.
When you start the engine on your Picasso C4 on the dashboard it will pop up an alarm which states "P filter add Level low" which means that you have to replace your soft tank (bag) with new one and you can see how to do it in this video!

This is whats called DPF ADDITIVE and it prevents the dpf clogging with soot in city driving conditions mainly. Its pumped into the fuel every time the fuel cap is opened and injected into the diesel tank to mix with fuel. Adblue is urea based or ammonia based additive and its not used in the dpf additive pouch.

This is not adblue It's a product called eolys and it's a fuel borne catalyst. It's mixed with fuel via a pump into fuel tank and burned. Adblue was used 2014 onwards on some later model cars and it is not mixed or added to fuel and burned, it is sprayed directly into the exhaust via an injector.

This is not the Adblue tank it is the Eolys tank, see the label at 5.11. Eolys gets added to the diesel tank automatically when you fill up and hence passes through the combustion chamber. Its job is to make the carbon particles which are trapped in the dpf filter burn off at a lower temperature which can be reached when the car is warm and doing sufficient revs - a good run on a motorway for example, thus cleaning out the dpf. Adblue is in a separate tank - in my 2017 C4 Picasso, the filler is in the boot floor near the back rhs. Adblue is injected into the exhaust - so does not pass through the engine - and it's job is to convert polluting oxides of nitrogen - usually referred to as NOx - into nitrogen and oxygen. The two systems together produce a much cleaner exhaust.

my point in this video is to show where is located and how to replace it! In case you have that error code! If I put “eolys tank” the majority of people never heard of it and they will struggle finding it.. for myself as a mechanic - I need the part number which is also included in the video! But please check the description of the video so you will find the same info as your comment..

I assume that this is a fluid for regeneration and easier cleaning of DPF and FAP filters, not Adblue fluid and tank. Am I right?

Hi thanks for the informative video, it has been very useful. But can I ask, I get warning messages that additive level is too low, but I do not get how many mls/kms I have left before empty. I see you have screen message you have 8508km left. Can i ask, is this the first message or have you had some before and if so what was the first distance ie 10,000km or even 15000km.

@@SuperFastDriver That means I have 6 years left, I only do about 1000 mls a year. Could we not just squirt some additive in the tank when we fill up? as I understand every time you fill up magnets detect the pump filling head and squires fluid into the tank. the more you fill up the more squires in. So i dont think you can over do it.

And I don't have this device like yours is it something I can buy to clear that codes , miles etc? I have just simple device yo read and clear faults but no miles adding or dpf replace option . Thank you for replying. I found it. If I can ask one more question. I don't have this Additive fluid level low message instead I have Risk of Particle System Blocking and it go away after engine start but it can pop up if I for example will accelerate rapidly when I try overtake someone and then I need stop and clear error with my ArtLink 300 because car will go only like 40 mph. I know that I don't have this Add Blue pouch with fluid installed as my friend checked after I bought my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso so I need to install one . But the question is , do you think that installation of this bag with fluid will help prevent it from showing off this error?
