Have done a few of these recently, just pull the full hub off complete , save knocking the leg out , just got to be careful with the nearside shaft spring tension, dumping all the gearbox oil out , great video Dave
@@davesterl did a Scirocco last week , full jobby off, no bleeding room, changed the spring and the lovely top mount , as we all love the so called captive nuts that spin either when undoing or on refitting , so silly nowadays that manufacturers still use legs with only a clamp bolt , takes so much more time to do than 2 bolt fixings 💰💰💰
Got a customer here in sunny Bolton, who lives at home in Belfast at weekends, but works here during the week , he's got a Fabia VRS, on a 55 plate , power rack has started to leak , rang Euro today , they said choice of about 8 different racks , what colour plug , what name on rack , what day was it built , blah blah , how are we supposed to price a job unless buying from dealers, Euro said between 94- 500 quid plus vat for rack ????🤔🤔🤔
Hi Dave , does the raised C shaped bit on the top mount with the hole at the end in the top mount , face inwards or outwards on the n/side . Any help would be greatly appreciated

@@TheGibby3340 mot in n.ireland is a bit different to the rest of the uk. When car is 4 years old and tested by local govt agency testing stations. 3 in GB and done by garages. The requirements are all about safety and sometimes seem a bit strange. Theyr goin nuts over brake and clutch pedal rubbers atm. What do they do in canada?
No recurrent requirement. Only at change of ownership. Certified fit by licensed mechanic. Even "clean air" requirement has been dropped here in Ontario. Insane set up but true.
