A debate over access to natural gas and propane is heating up quickly in Washington, as proponents of Initiative 2066 seek to roll back the states new climate-oriented law (HB1589) that would phase out natural gas in homes and businesses. I-2066 supporters call this a showdown over energy choice, but opponents say the state needs to stay the course and transition away from fossil fuels.

I’ve heard a lot of people making excuses for natural gas for a long time. Someone out there seems to feel like there’s still money to be made. But, as the old saying goes, “you can’t take it with you.” It’s time to switch to renewable energy. The IEA calculates that on a value-adjusted basis-and with cost assumptions in place-solar comes in at $60 per MWh while gas is $20 more expensive at $80 per MWh.

did the math to pay for a solar system for my home it would take longer to pay off than the mortgage! Solar as it is now is a joke and mostly foreign made junk to the US made equipment is harder to get and even more expensive sadly. I'll keep my gas thanks
