Bailey Avenue is a dying deteriorating thoroughfare that goes through impoverished and gang infested neighborhoods. The only reason why Bailey is getting this federal funding is because it is part of US Route 62. Otherwise the federal government wouldn’t have bothered funding any of this pork barrel project. While Bailey needs reconstruction, something needs to be done about the drug gang activity in the neighborhoods along Bailey Avenue. Nobody is going to invest there if crime and gangs are still a serious problem. Hopefully this project will include new LED streetlights as well.
