Description On April 30 2016 station 1 hazmat team responded to a ruptured natural gas line off of the Venetian causeway in a residential area. Multiple units responded as support. Video was taken via helmet mounted Sony action cam
@bigboy9916 thank you sir. Hopefully these videos will serve as some kind of training of what to do and what not to do. I'll be posting more as soon as they come
Those plugs don’t work on hdpe because they are designed for steel. Tell that nozzle man to wet everything down just a bit to cut the dust down and reduce the static buildup. For fucks sake get some lel sensors calibrated to the product you are mitigating and get all those guys who are scared of wearing PPE away from the IDLH.
i am not a firefighter nor expert, but when I saw him striking the ground with a hammer I had to wonder about that possibly sparking? is that a concern in their situation? I'm genuinely curious how that works in this situation. gas leaks scare me like nothing else,so props to those who risk life to stop them.
(jacklen123) True! You mentioned the, soft/Non sparking metal, Bronze," I've worked in a Amunitions factory that had Brass work surfaces that we lubricated with clean, greasy, "Low flash point" diesel to prevent explosive conditions.
Hopefully the guys in the hole getting covered in dust got to get back to the station and shower before the next call, no way that didnt manage to get in your gear at least some.
