I had a Peugeot 107, I bought it for my wife, but it turned out that for the last 5 years I drove it on the Germany autobahn, a year ago I sold it because I went to Ukraine for the war, I took a lot of useful information about this car from your videos. Congratulations to your channel, friend 🤝❤️

Head under a strut wheels off no axle stands,jack only lifting. Reminds me of one of my AED shifts. Mainly because of all the paperwork for the coroner. Axle stands are for life !

Am I missing something here? When you lowered the car down to check if it was going to be ok there was loads of room so surely it would have been easier to put the bolts in the correct way
@aaanton11
@aaanton11 Год назад
There is no correct way round for the bolt, but yes it would have given more room, however the long thread would have been sticking down below the bottom arm so would still need cutting down to avoid catching it on a curb, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@Pes60
@Pes60 4 месяца назад
According to the instructions that come with it,it does say to fit the bolt with the thread facing down.
@Pes60

Just fitted the same ones today.The offside one goes in from the top if you turn the steering,the nearside goes in with the wheels straight.I had both wheels on ramps with a bit of plywood under each wheel so they would turn easier.
@stevensmith5226
@stevensmith5226 9 месяцев назад
I fitted exact same ones by taking both wheels of and using axel stands and separating ball joints on both sides at same time then fitted the links from the top with the lock nut on the bottom easily with loads of clearance..had to cut a bit bit off the bolts though as a little too long about half inch on each.... working well with just a slight more stiffness

be wise to put the wheels you took off under the sills if your not bothering with stands ,,, its the difference between loosing toes and not , and lets you put a jack under the car again if it does go wrong

@@aaanton11 its a simple thing , but boys it could make a huge difference on a bad day ,, I do the same when changing a wheel , theres always a wheel and tire under the car ,,, on a crappy jack at the side of the motorway on a wet night its the difference between a bad night and a tragedy ,,, and best of all little effort and no money involved.

Excellent comment. I was trying to replace these links and the springs (following another of antons videos) but got stuck on where to jack up AND safely position axle stands, so not to bend anything under the car. A detailed video pointing to exactly the safe places under the car to position axle stands would be very much appreciated. 🙏 😎👍🏻

Dont mess with karma and dont take the piss...Do the work correctly if you are doing tutorial videos. Especially considering the people driving these cars are maybe youngsters (First Cars) and crawling under one taking your advice, I mean you dont even mention safety. Just so we are clear Jack up the Car and immediately insert Car Stands then Chock the wheels that are still contacting the road/driveway. Only when you are 100% sure you have made it safe then proceed to work underneath. Dont be a Melon you could end up squished.

Don't use NAPA branded replacement drop links. After 8 weeks, the rubber in the drop link was all rotten, split and looked worse than the original 18 year old ones. Dealer did give me full refund and I purchased genuine Peugeot ones

I hope you are going to read my comment and reply as im interested about something else - not just axle stands missing 🤣 How those links performed in time? Did you have any provlems with noises from suspension? I am asking for this cause looks like anti roll bar sits closer to suspension arm with these links as spacer is smaller than in genuine ones. Didn't they touch each other? And how is driving? Didn't it make any difference due to anti roll bar position slightly changed? Going to upgrade mines i think as after replacing them with SKF a week ago, today one of links snapped in half...Quality of parts these days. Awaiting any reply which will be appreciated. Cheers Edit: Forget question about performing in time. I missed that you uploaded video an hour ago 🤣 For some reason I've seen 1 year ago 🤣 Rest of questions stil valid 😁
@aaanton11
@aaanton11 Год назад
No issues as when the car is in the air the anti roll bar is at its lowest point, not touching the bottom arm, when its on the road they sit higher, as for performance I notice no difference on the road, you might save a couple of 10ths on a track but for me they should last longer. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

I have a 108, I ordered normal anti roll bar links and they was longer than the original ones that was on, after 1000 miles I’m getting a grinding/ rubbing noise when I accelerate hard , mainly on a hill, I think it’s just catching on the drive shaft boot lock when the front end lifts , will this improved part fit on my 108?

@@aaanton11 I enjoy your videos and thanks for making them.However you know it's not safe don't take a risk that is easily avoided, you had axle stands to hand as you used one to prop the wheel. If you are happy to risk it fine but you are setting a bad example for people watching, if you want to teach them to work on cars do it responsibly and safely or not at all.
@paulstoakes466
@paulstoakes466 Год назад
Irony is, you are wearing gloves to keep your hands clean and unharmed but they don't matter a jot when you are crushed. If you must work without axel stands then put something solid between the car and the ground like the two wheels you removed so that when the car falls you are only bone brokenly squashed and there is something for the fire brigade to slide out alive.
