Yeah really weird and downright stupid to count real word time instead of turns taken. Really disappointing video IMO, game devolved to holding down space.

Try using my world seed (590935432) and you might have a little better luck. Get under 17 minutes and you can say you're second fastest in the world hahah
Meh, official in-game time was 5.06 (just pause the video at the right frame at 6:10) ! Doesn't matter much considering the absence of rules and chosen seed... but wanted to point it out.
Yeah the submitted time was 5:09, I think I was conservative with how I measured start and end. A lot of games don't use the in game timer for a variety of reasons. For some games it's inaccurate.
Its incredibe that you are in industrial era in 1100 ad Im usually gatting in medivle era by that time eaven with sience slider ta 80% usually it seams that culture exually das something important XD
Culture doesn't effect tech speed. Just focus on core techs (ignore economics/Free Artistry/etc) use republic, and don't go broke due to unit support. Oh and this game is accelerated production IIRC.
Accelerated production is on. I'm in republic, have the collosus, Newton's, and Copernicus'. Small maps have faster tech speed. And I didn't finish until 1500AD, which is not that soon.
