Civ 5 AI Only Battle: All Ancient Era Unique Ground Units Deathmatch 

I swear, the ai works in misterious ways. "We are armed with spears and the capacity to regenerate wounds faster. Lets neither attack nor defend and heal, but rather walk around the horse archers while arrows rain upon us. Glory to the god king!" *dies*

This is a perfect display of how bad the AI is as combat.

What we learned here is that if you run around randomly and let ranged units keep hitting you, you'll eventually lose.

Watching AI's stupidity is very painful

very strange and even idiotic calls from the AI, notably the immortals's AI.... odd behaviour, they could, and should, have won that bout without a lot of difficulty.

Best strategy on this situation is just put yourself on defence and then healing defence. While they lose health you gain health.

AI enemy units have less combat use than using a worker as a decoy lmao

The AI is bad at first because AI often treat their first unit as a scouting unit, I think. They settle a city with their Settler, then they explore the land using their Warrior. Without a Settler or a Warrior, I think their military unit assumed the Warrior role and went exploring that tiny bit of land, before they got serious about killing anyone That said, the AI is still horribly bad at war

i like to think they were all looking for the barb camp so they could get a settler lmao

I had my money on Persia and then I saw the final showdown, *tisk* *tisk*

The immortals should have won because they heal twice as fast, get a healing bonus for killing other units and have an advantage against all horse, scout and ranged units at this stage of game. Spawning in next to Persia when you start the game as anyone else is a nightmare on high difficulties, because they expand quickly and you are always weaker militarily through the AI research starting bias in a vanilla game. So it's a case of do everything you can to stay friendly until you catch up, then beat them down until they don't exist anymore
