Well done video! "K20 has more character. Has more soul than the 1.5 turbo". Absolutely! The last of the pure classic Civics.

I have the same car. Recently, installed Eibach lowering springs, 27one strut bar, and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. What a difference! Adheres to the road at high speeds (40 mph turns at 90mph in the rain no problem), rides and handles like a dream! Well worth it.

Great mod and another great vid! I'll be keeping my eye on ebay so I can do the same. Also love that you actually weighed the car. A full tank of gas would have added about 19lbs (25% * 12.4 gal * 6 lbs/gal) putting the total weight at 2,950 lbs, including the spare. Looks like Honda's claim of 2,952 is accurate.

@@NAUS2K It makes me wonder the reasoning for not doing this from the factory in the first place? Cost perhaps? I guess every penny counts in mass production. Perhaps they just think the person buying this car would prefer a plusher ride? Who knows?

Hey Naus, I was cleaning my 2023 Civic sport sedan when I noticed some dirt accumulating on the bottom of the doors behind the bottom removable weather stripping. I could see it causing rust over time if not cleaned, you should check your bottom part of your doors by the bottom weatherstipping. Great video man!!!

Wish you posted this video last week before I purchased and found out the Si sway bar isnt worth the effort lol. Another suspension trick I found is the 10th and 11th gen civics have a front strut "alignment pin" that can be easily removed to add some front camber. Probably adds half a degree but its free and easy

Great video and great mod. I love the 11th gen 2.0 6MT but still can't get over not having a real parking brake. Just one thing to correct, is that the rear spring even though 2x as stiff, is mounted at like 0.6 motion ratio. So the effective ride stiffness increase is a lot less than doubled.
@NAUS2K
@NAUS2K 13 дней назад
Yes that is correct which is why I show it was 0.75” compression before and 0.5” compression after. If I said that I was just referring to the spring itself.

You should try the skunk2 shift knob with the acuity boot collar. It’s a weighty knob so the shifting is buttery smooth. It also looks great and blends with the interior of the the car really well

Awesome! Are you eventually gonna change out the sway bar or no? I got one from sirimoto and it made a big difference. Although I'm not sure that it's worth it after swapping over to Si springs since you've already eliminated a lot of body roll and the car is decently stiff already. Could be that any more stiffness in the rear would make it slide a lot more in wet weather or on gravel which isn't great for a daily.
@NAUS2K

I’m may consider it in the future if I do take it to an autocross and what not. I am really happy with how it sits now though

Do you plan on installing an exhaust, Ktuner or PRL upgraded shifter bushings?
@MrSmith804
@MrSmith804 14 дней назад
You should definitely try the Ktuner 1.2 or the 2.0 and see how the car behaved after the upgrades, since you have the intake that would give you at least 26 to 30hp.

Nice upgrade! I have a 2023 identical to yours and just turned 31,000 miles. Zero mods, but maybe will do the intake. Waiting to see what exhaust upgrade you may do! What’s weird is I did have sticky steering and it completely went away. I honestly think it was associated with lane departure or warning. Which I always had deactivated, but the sticky steering seemed to go away on its own.

wasn't the sticky steering a recall?

@@troyxhoward I don’t think so. I believe unrelated and it has to do with over travel allowing tire to hit suspension. I think Honda is just ignoring the sticky steering. I had it around 20,000 miles and it miraculously went away completely.

What would be the likely outcome if you were to swap out just coils and not the shocks?
@NAUS2K
@NAUS2K 12 дней назад
Shocks are tuned to work with a specific spring rate. If you just swapped the springs and left the stock struts it would be under-dampened or over dampened. Not sure how big the difference is or how noticeable it would be, but this is the right way to do it

If you can still handle getting in and out of the civic it wins hands down. Just rolled over 14k on mine and absolutely love it for daily duty. Comfortable seats, good ac, reasonable visibility, butter transmission, revy engine, a better stereo than my 9th gen si, and as close to basic as one can get these days. Still has lots of tech if you're interested; car play, Bluetooth, active cruise, lane departure, ect. It gets great mpg, I'm bumping 40 mpg highway if you can keep your foot out of it. Very easy to get to most standard maintenance parts. I will complain about the lower shield being a bit of a pain to remove for oil changes. Far easier than my 9th gen, to work on, probably on par with my 5th gen.

Now just swap it for the SI steering rack. Then we'll be in business. The sharp turn in and the heavier steering is the only thing I'm going to miss. Its worth it though, the turbo charged 1.5 can go to hell, doesnt belong in anything sporty.
@NAUS2K
@NAUS2K 9 дней назад
The ratios are nearly identical, yes the weight may change but I’m willing to bet it would bring issues electrically. This car does not have drive modes like the Si, the steering weight changes from normal to sport mode on an si, this car does not have a button or the programming to alter that
