thank you for this it was really helpful, can we go ahead and create 3D solids from the surfaces using Dynamo, I am looking for this. Please let me know if it is possible.
Very welcome! Yes, if you install the C3D Toolkit Package within Dynamo, you will gain access to a whole bunch of custom nodes, one of which is called 'TinSufaceExtensions.CreateSolids'. Let me know if that get's the results you were looking for!
Hi @C3D User! Thanks for the comment! Would you mind elaborating a bit on the workflow? Yes, Autodesk has built C3D such that all points created will always be included in the default _All Points group. The script shown in the demo allows the opportunity to create those points and place them in another, predefined, group as well for further display options. Let me know if that helps clarify things...Thanks!
@@stephenwalz3900 But think is normally if you're creating point group during import then there will be no duplicates points it will show in All Points and also in the group only the think is with this points are coming duplicates.
@@C3D-User understanding that they will be listed in both point groups, they are only in the drawing itself once, so no duplication. Civil 3D allows for the multiple point groups to contain each individual point for grouping and varying display purposes. Ill try to post a new video that dives into point groups in the near future.
Hi Rich! So this script was created for a prior customer and is available for purchase and download (along with a few others) at: designtovisualization.com/content-library/. Fee free to reach out if you have any questions (stevewalz@hotmail.com)! Thanks! Steve
